Thanks--- Powering a 15" alpine type R dual 4.... would like to keep the options of adding a second open without having to replace another amp

Best Hifonics amp between model brutus, ZEUS or HFI?

the BRZ line is the new and improved brutus amp
the zeus line is more tailored for speakers than subwoofers, so its not a great comparison,
the HFI line from what I've been told is basically like the old brutus amps.

so brz > Hfi
Zeus isn't for subwoofers.

Hifonics Brutus or Zeus Amplifier?

I need a new amp because believe it or not my JBL came not working correctly. I am choosing between a 175$ 1400watt Brutus and a 175$ 2400 watt Zeus More power is better than not enough and I dont even need 2400 watts so the Zeus amp should last a long time. But I have heard the you should only use the Brutus series from Hifonics. Even if the 2400 Zeus does not actually reach that much wattage I am sure it is hitting more than the 1400. What does anyone else think? Difference in reliability between Zeus and Brutus seriece? What would you do?

Hifonics Brutus amp has the protection mode flashing?

Ok your amp goes into protect mode this is caused by heat wrong wiring or a bad ground.

Now a class d amp is really designed for subs so I would imagine that you got subs hooked up to it if so check your gains and bass boosts.

Now check your ground ensure that it is sercured to a paint and rust free bolt maybe in the trunk.

Now check all your fuses on the amp itself and inline aswell as by the battery (if you got one).

Now for your wiring check all your connections ground rem and power plus your speaker wires ensure that there ant open wires touching and even if they are only open insulated them with electrical tape/insulation tape.

Hifonics amp lights up , but no sound? no power liight?

I cant figure out what is wrong...my system was fine the past few days....the i was driving and i heard my amp start cutting out and then nothing,,,,i immediatly assumed the ground wire had loosened or fallen out. i shut the stereo off and pulled over...the ground is no tightened with paint sanded away.....and the power wire is fine. rca cables, remote turn on are also good. what could be wrong...

Difference in Hifonics Amps?

You read something wrong.

The BRZ1100.1 is rated at 1,400 watts @ 2 ohms

<>EDIT<>

Actually, I didn't find a BRZ1100.1D. The closest I found was the BRZ1200.1D and the BRZ2100.1D (which is what I linked to).

Perhaps you meant the BRX1100.1D?

Give me a thumbs down for trying to help and got the amp wrong when the person asking the question didn't even provide the correct model numbers, and that's my fault??? Welcome to Yahoo Answers.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_2354...

Well, I'll take a stab at it, anyway, even though I can't stand Maxxsonics products...
Take a look at the fuses on each amp. The ZRX has an 80 amp fuse.
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/pictures_...

The BRX has two 60 amp fuses (120 total)
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/pictures_new.php?id=67933&picture_id=1307069

80 amps x 14.4 volts = 1152 watts x .70 (70% efficiency) = 806.4 usable wattage

120 amps x 14.4 volts = 1728 watts x .70 (70% efficiency) = 1209.6 usable wattage

Which one do you think is more true to its claim?

HIFONICS ZEUS ZXI1308 good amp?

ok i was wanting to get the HIFONICS BXI1610D but its mono, and the ohm load for my subs would be at 1 ohm and would prob. fry the amp quick.

so i found this same brand 2 channel with about the same specs, and will put 2 ohms with my subs into each channel, my subs are dual voice coil and 4 ohms a coil, they can handle 500w per sub.

so im going to run the dual voice coils in parallel so its 2 ohms each channel.. does that sound good and is this a good amp for the price?

Why does my amp go in protect mode?

Try and go through this little fault finder.
Hope it helps?
Ensure you have a good ground (- Earth).

Description of the PROTECT system built into amplifiers........
The diagnostic system will shut down the amplifier, until reset by turning the head unit off, and back on. This state of affairs will be indicated by the front panel PROTECT LED lighting up under the following conditions:
1 - A short circuit on the loudspeaker leads.
2 - An internal amplifier fault that causes a DC offset on the loudspeaker output.

Should the amplifier go into protect mode, simply disconnect all RCA and speaker leads, while keeping +12 volt, power ground and remote leads connected.
1. Now turn the amplifier back on, and if the diagnostic LED lights, the amplifier has an internal fault.
2. If not, plug the RCA cables back, and reset the amplifier. If it goes into diagnostic now, the fault lies in the input, either with bad cables or source unit.
3. If the amplifier seems fine with RCA cables plugged in, connect the speakers, one at a time, and if one of the speakers or its wiring is faulty, it will activate the diagnostic
system.

What amp should I use to power my sundown sa-12 d2?

I agree with Dragon in general, but not so much on the specifics.

The 2400.1 would work pretty well at 4 ohms. But that's a big power/low budget amp that's meant to be a ~2kw <$200 1 ohm amp. Using it at 4 wouldn't make much sense when you can afford a good quality amp that will give you about the same power at 1 ohm for the same price.

The 1200.1 isn't a good match. Not enough power at 4 and too much power at 1. Plus, HF quality when you can afford something quite a bit better especially considering the quality of the sub just doesn't seem right.

CX6 just isn't a good match.

A quick look and I came up with:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_4378...
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_71673_SKAR-Audio-LP-750.1D.html

All good quality, 650-750w rms (perfectly reasonable for an SA), all reasonably affordable although the skar's getting a little pricey.
