AP World History Essential Questions Help ASAP!?

Well...

The Enlightenment can be summed in about three words: No. Pants. Party. I'm not even kidding. It was an age of sexual freedom. Everyone got laid. Even a little worm such as yourself could have scored during the wonderful period of Europe's history.

I hope you can see how this would affect popular culture. Basically there was porn everywhere and people just did it whenever they damn well felt like it. Think afternoon delight, but not necessarily in the afternoon. Government was affected in a manner one would not expect. Your typical politicians were replaced with courtesans and crack whores. As you can imagine, sexual favors became the only accepted currency of the land, and tariffs skyrocketed. This had a huge impact on the economy of Europe, but that is an entirely different topic.

Hope this helps!

History question!! Please help ASAP?!?

Which enlightenment philosopher wrote of a social contract by which citizens agreed to live together to protect their rights and in which citizens would obey the "general will" of the community?

HISTORY QUESTION. NEED HELP ASAP PLEZ.?

The only option that could really possibly apply is the first. The others are patently biased and false but if you are attending one of the less scrupulous religious schools that doesn't mean they might not promote those ideas. This passage can be viewed as supporting democratic ideals in that it views the different members as equal despite differences although somewhat dicey in that it only allows their equality based on a religious claim that this is enabled by the religions figure imbuing them with equality by viewing them as equal. Real democratic equality I think is and can be simply based on society is most just when regardless of beliefs, race, gender, sex, etc... rights are equal for all regardless.

There are certainly passages in the Bible, particularly New Testament, that can be seen to promote ideals of social equality and democracy. Other passages that are rather more problematic as well, such as where Jesus extols slaves to obey their masters. One can also find writings through many religions and philosophies that reflect principles of democratic ideals as these have been an important reoccurring theme through different cultures. The ancient Greeks being some of the foundational writers exploring and thinking about the value and development of democratic ideals.
