How Can I Gain Weight Without Freaking Out

Will we gain weight if we stop going to gym and working out?

Yes & no.Yes you will gain weight .The food you take daily & the extra calories consumed eating junk food will not be burnt in work out and consequently results in gain in weight.When you are in working out mode your body has a revved up basal metabolic rate (BMR)but that would slow down if you stop the work out & consequently the extra calories you have consumed through eating  junk food and/or eating a little extra everyday or week would result in weight gain.But remember even when you are working out in gym  pigging out on junk food would result in weight gain.No.You do not need elaborate gym work out or high intensity cardio outside gym to control weight gain.All you need to do is keep minimum work out or just work out when you feel like subject to time available to just keep the  BMR not slowing down.Most important control your eating by not pigging out on junk food & daily intake of food is to suitably adjusted to prevent extra calories getting loaded (as this results in weight gain)Adding a daily walk through out the day & keep moving & fidgeting helps to burn calories to keep your weight in check.A gym workout helps in building muscular mass ,bone density  & strength by use of different equipment available there & used by you regularly.But you could do plenty of resistance exercise everyday with body weight - work outs at your  own convenience or a simple pair adjustable dumbbells could be useful to maintain physique.Most important is not eating too much food everyday/week/month/year & that is the key to stop weight gain.I do not believe in dieting which is very tough on the body & mind .All the extreme dieting  tricks leads to failure & a rebound weight gain so I am personally not for it.

I ate 1650 calories today and freaking out! Will i gain weight?

Im 16 and weigh 135 and 5'4", i want to lose 10 pounds, i have been eating 800-1000 calories, but i now know that's too little, but i have been eating it for about 3 months, i was gonna try to increase my calories to 1200-1500 a day, i exercise (running, elliptical, dance, cheering) everyday and i push pretty hard, will those calories be good? and just wondering, I had church stuff today so i ate more than i normally do and ate 1650 calories! :( will i gain weight, or should be ok, i did exercise today if that helps. Im FREAKING scared! gaining weight on prozac!!!!!!!!!?

First of all, Prozac is weight neutral...meaning that it DOES NOT cause weight gain. I understand that you're scared right now of gaining weight, but if you continue to do the things that you did to help you lose weight, then you will not gain weight.

That being said...5'8" and 130 is normal, I wouldn't try and lose any more weight right now. You are coming close to a low BMI, and losing much more weight would NOT be very healty.

Prozac and Wellbutrin have actually shown weight loss with some patients. The Buspar (As I assume you meant) also has no reports of weight gain with its use. The Gabapentin (Neurontin) does not list weight gain as a side effect. While it is still possible that you might gain weight, it is unlikely that these drugs will be the direct cause of it.

Most antidepressants do cause some weight gain, but the ones you are on do not. If you find that you are gaining weight, a simple diet and exercise regimen can help to curb it. I too gained weight while on antidepressants, but have been able to manage any weight gain with exercise.

I keep gaining weight even though Ive started woking out!?

Im freaking out because prom is getting closer and instead of losing weight Im gaining! I started working out almost a week ago, I didn't expect to lose any weight for a while but I also didn't expect to gain weight either since in addition to the exercising ive been eating better! Ive heard that muscle weighs more than fat so I'm hoping that's whats going on but I just don't know...

Is gaining weight normal with crew/rowing?

i have been rowing for so long now and when i started crew when i was 14 i gained about 20 lbs of all muscle but on top of it you eat alot b/c you burn a lot of fat everyday like for crew i run 6 miles and row everyday i go hard every day and right now i am 148 i do not like it but it is all muscle...you can not do anything about it....that is what a rower is all about sometimes you will cry b/c of the pain that you feel but tell her to stick it out tell her it is ok the she put muscle on b/c i know that i love walking around knowing what i do every day and knowing that no one else around me but the people i row with know what i am going through so ok she put 20lbs on but it is not fat so she should feel good that she looks hot

I ate 3 donuts tonight. Am I going to gain weight?

I ate a normal dinner tonight, but after that I convinced my mom to buy some donuts. I ate three and I'm freaking out over whether I'll gain weight or not. I got a belly ache afterward and sat down. She says its okay as long as I didn't do that everyday. She also said that considering the amount of exercise I do (Meaning P.E. walking home after school and working out), it wouldn't affect me. But I don't believe her because she's always worried I don't eat enough because I'm still recovering from an eating disorder. Plus she's forbidding me from losing any more weight.
And a friend said I have a fast metabolism because usually when I eat what I feel is a lot and I go to the doctor, the scale says I lost weight.
So would I gain weight after eating the donuts? Even if I work out once the food goes down? I'm freaking out.

It's just that you've grown up in a time where so much attention has been drawn to how a person looks. And it winds up getting over-blown in your young mind. And don't compare yourself with others, everyone has different genetics, eating habits, and such and most of the girls you see now, will look completely different after they pop out a couple kids. Focus more on your health, it will take you a lot farther in this live, giving you so many more benefits that just focusing on your looks ever will! It's a long life and it can be awesome if you are healthy and very miserable if you aren't. Start increasing your calories and keep reminding yourself that you are growing, and need them. You can sculpt your body more in a couple of years, but for now you need to do the right thing so you don't mess yourself up for the long-term. And by sculpt your body, I don't mean starve it, I mean Exercising with a Sensible Diet. You can do light exercise now, like walking that may increase your hunger, but with being so calorie defiecent anything more could cause problems ( again hormonal growth, you becoming a woman and so much more). How can a skinny guy gain weight and develop a fit body?

So its time to hit some heavy weight training ...At your age my weight is around 49kg and after trying hard for around a year i gained about 15kg  ..having 67kg at current ...total lean muscle ... and six abs too..So first off all you have to make strict desciplanary daily routine to enrolled with in both diet and weight training ..It should contain some heavy .. means really heavy compound exercises and lots of carb-protien diet .. you should able to consume at least 3000/3500 cal a day mostly from clean carb and protien based diet .. and you could not consume such high calories unless heavy weight training. Be clear do not enrolled with Isolation exercises it will contradict your muscle rather than expanding it will tone them ..Train only one muscle group per day .. that way it will help them to recover faster .. as ex.MON : ShouldersTUE : ChestWED : TricepsTHU : Thighs [Its necessary to hit thighs .. so it will boost testosterone level which help to recover quicker and enhance stamina]FRI : BackSAT : BicepsSUN : Abs And after each and every workout drink protien shake ... otherwise as beginner just plain milk with chocolate syrup and a banana.Break down your meal to 6 small meals per day .. and each 3 meal should contain Protiens size of your fist .. like Chicken,fish etcInclude Eggs in your diet like 6Eggs/dayDo not suppliment your body untill you get used to heavy weight training for more than 4 months ... otherwise its just waste all efforts and money.Drink another protien shake right before going to bed .. for first 4 months plain milk would be good enough ..It will show results beyond your expectation .. and after 4 months of strictness.. iam talking about very strict training ... if you willing to go on supplimainting like Mass Gainer or Whey protien ... your body gonna get ripped lean masculine with quality of weight gained .Wish you all d best ..
