How Can I Get Rid Of Selfharm Scars Without Buying An Expensive Lotion

I want to buy shorts but i have self harming scars?

As an ex self harmer I have gone through using bio oil and coco butter on mine and getting a bit of sun on them so mine have faded however it depends how deep they are, mine are pretty deep and although the colour has faded there are still shadows from the dips in my skin and that will never change. If you don't want them to be seen then seriously go mental with the make up, just get cheep concealer, foundation and powder to the right color. The price foesnt matter bc you will use a lot. However I just dont give a rats behind about my scars, I go to the beach with my boyfriend in a bikini scars arms, hips, stomach and thighs. Anyone would think I'm proud and flaunting them but really I just don't want them to get in the way with being "normal" who says you are not suppose to wear shorts if you have scars?

What are some creams/lotions to get rid of self-harm scars?

I’m cheating on this. I answer this question SO frequently I have just gotten into copying and pasting. My methods are all from items that are either in your pantry now, or can be found in most grocery stores. They are usually pretty cheap, too, which helps.First, every other day, at least, you should use a mixture of baking soda and water (or powdered rice, or even granulated sugar would work) to exfoliate the skin where your scars are located. You do not have to burn up your skin, normal exfoliation will still help your scars heal! If you don't have problems using this every other day, and you WANT to, you can do it daily, I recommend every other day as standard.Next, you can use either lemon juice or Apple Cider vinegar as a "toner" of sorts. If you use lemon juice (you can buy the bottle - doesn't have to be fresh lemon) but it CAN burn sensitive skin. If you have a reaction don't use it! Lemon and Apple Cider Vinegar are both used to help remove the pigmentation or discoloration that makes scars so noticeable. I always recommend that if a person uses lemon juice to ONLY leave it on for a few minutes and then to wash it off - lemon juice can be a caustic substance to skin. Apple Cider vinegar is far less problematic, but many people may prefer washing it off as well, although I do leave mine on. You can use lemon and Apple Cider vinegar daily - twice daily if you find that it doesn't bother you.Following that, then for a "moisturizer"..., Bio-oil, cocoa butter, shea oil, Vitamin E oil, Coconut oil, Aloe Vera, and I recently heard that Rosehip Seed Oil has AMAZING properties for scar healing (although I have never tried it myself). One of the most important things to always remember about any scars is that while you are trying to heal and remove scars is to avoid sun. Sun will automatically darken the skin around it making the scar more noticeable. Use sunscreen, sunblock, keep scars covered. My method of scar removal is a lot cheaper and a lot more effective than a lot of the expensive methods - it's also not loaded in chemicals that you cannot pronounce and have no idea whether or not they are damaging something in your body.

Will vaseline with cocoa butter help get rid of self harm scars that are less than six months old?

I have a handful of scars on my thigh from self harm. Will vaseline with cocoa butter help get rid of them? I read someone that it would help get rid of stretch marks. I also read that if it gets rid of stretch marks, it would help lighten scars. If it won't help make the scars less noticeable, what will?
These scars are less then six months old and are from cuts that ranged from barely breaking skin to somewhat deep.
(Also, before you comment on this and say anything negative, please know how entirely wrong that will be. People who self harm are not weak and you are not better than someone because they self harm and you don't. If you've never done it before, then you have absolutely no right to have any input on it because you know nothing about it. I am recovering and if you are rude enough to comment on this and say anything negative, even in the slightest, then you have a problem. I've seen negative comments on questions like this before and it disgusts me. So please, if you don't have anything nice (or neutral) to say, DON'T say anything at all.)

How long does it take for self-harm scars to fade?

I have a loofa I scrub my scars with, just scrub them but not too rough. Then I have bath gloves that are a little rough for scrubbing so I go over the scars again with them while I'm scrubbing my whole self with a bit of a rough body scrub. There's several brands that make exfoliating body wash so just choose one you like. When I get out I rub Vitamin E into them. It does help but it takes time. It will help to make them fade tho. You can buy the capsules and snip them open or purchase a bottle of the pure oil. It is expensive but I've been using it for many years and it does work. Also, if at all possible talk to your mother about it. If you don't feel like you can talk to her directly, (If you’re still in school) speak with a school counsellor or the school nurse. Even a teacher you feel you can talk to or the principle if they aren't a uhmm… if they are someone you think you can talk to. Someone else gave the suicide hotlines and you can definitely call them. Even if you just wanted to hurt yourself but not kill yourself you can still call them. They are ready to deal with whatever kind of problems you're experiencing. You can do this. Let people help you learn how to cope in a different way. You're worth it and I have faith in you. Have faith in yourself.

How to hide self harm scars on thighs?

Have you tried Sally Hansen Leg Makeup? It comes in a spray bottle and you just spray it on your legs, it covers up any scars to create a nice, even appearance. You just need to make sure you get the right colour that will match your skin colour.

Here's a before and after of covering scars on the legs using the leg makeup:

- While you can still see the scars a little bit on the after photo (mainly because they're quite large scars), you still have to look very closely to see them.
The leg makeup will make your legs more tan, but it will give them a natural tan (not an orange tan) and it won't highlight the scars either.

Lastly, if you're looking for something that will get rid of the scars for good and then you don't have to worry about having to cover them up, get this oil called Castor Oil which makes scars vanish - I'm not kidding. It's magical stuff that you can even apply to eyelashes to make them grow and the same with hair. Also gets rid of any acne scars too.
