How to increase bmw z3 hp?
I've owned a Z3, What you REALLY need to get for it first before all else is a strut trower brace. Crap I still have it if wanted to buy it from me (panjshir_lion at yahoo.com). The trosional rigidity is a .17 which is probably the lowest of most modern era cars. Even a small increase to .19 - .20 (the newer Z4) makes a night and day difference for the better. Why do you care ? The handling around a corner will feel soft until you make this change. Another thing, try to get even sized wheels for the front and back to compensate for the built-in understeer. Also the tire rotation will be better. This is common in all of the z-series, that is to have narrower wheels in the front and a little too much built in understeer. My plan was to buy a set of aftermarket OEM wheels for the front that were on the rear. I tried them on, they fit just fine. The cheapest performance gains would come from headers, intake and exhaust. Some people get the Chip upgrade. A real performance step up would be a supercharger. I would also suggest that if you didn't buy the car yet, to go with the 3.0l engine, it may be powerful enough for your needs. PS> I'm not sure if you bought the car yet but you also have to look for the sub-frame separation issue in the trunk and under the car, there are a bunch of websites that discuss this. When it comes to the drive train, you are limited in scope because of the electronic controls. Not to say that there aren’t options available, it’s just that you are fighting against the grain of what the Passat was designed for. The Passat is a sporty economy car. The first limit that you run into is that you are stuck with your engine displacement. Final drive ratio can be radically altered to make a whole different ride out of it. Throttle body improvements can be accomplished to install a larger throttle body on the current electronic scheme to improve performance, but again you hit electronic control limits. Turbo chargers and intercoolers can be installed to improve performance. Installing these without enlarging the entire inside diameter of the exhaust pipes from the engine back is pointless and destructive to the engine. Catback exhaust systems are a bad joke because the forward pipes are still restricted. As others are warning; if you go down the learning path of trying to increase the output of the drive train, there usually is no way back and you actually decrease the value of the vehicle. Tuners and “chipping” are other methods to help improve performance.
Realistically how much power will i gain from a complete exhaust system?
with the header.. it will go great with sound... just dont go with OBX or ebay header.. you lose HP.... DC Sports and Mugen or Spoon are the same as stock, no horse gain just better air flow and performance. Exhaust? Lets you rev higher then Stock! Maybe with both you will gain like 3-4 horsepower... I had a LS with a DC Sports header 4-1 and a Apexi NI Full Exhaust catback... had more power to it and burn more stocks cars with it! The best was me burning a Audi TT 3 times!!!! You can kill 99-00 civic si like it was nothing!!! haha and also kill stock GSR! you will see gains when you put the stuff on then wait for 2 years and put them off... you'll see!
What could i add to my vw bus to make it go faster?? Just to like at least 70mph or 80mph?
Rebuild the engine using 88mm pistons, dual carbs. and a good header exhaust. The carburetors don't have to be real expensive ones, I suggest a pair of Delortos. Assuming you already have a stock 1600cc motor, this will build it up to an 1835cc motor. Anything bigger would require machine work and allot more money.

How can I make my 2009, Jetta Turbo Diesel Wagon go faster?
I have a 2009 Jetta Sportwagon. I'm pretty sure it's twin turbo, but they are stock turbos so they probably are not going to get the most hp out of the engine that it can. Would I be able to get more powerful turbos? And what else could I do to increase the performance of the car? Getting a whole new car is not really an option right now, and It's a good car with Great handling, but I just want a lot more hp and torque... thanks!
