Mobogenie isn't dangerous, it's a third party app store no different than Amazon App Store or Cydia, but it's also an app that advertisers like to push through drive-by downloads and popups, so the version YOU have could be a virus. All checking accept apps from unknown sources does is allow apps to be installed that don't come from the google play store. Do that at settings>Security>Unknown Sources (if that checkbox isn't available then your carrier has locked it down and you can't install it). Only download it from the official site (http://www.mobogenie.com/) and if you have any other version then uninstall it (settings>Apps>Mobogenie>uninstall) and scan your tablet with Avast! Mobile Antivirus (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.avast.android.mobilesecurity).
How can I remove Mobogenie from my Android tablet?
I've looked at every online "solution" and they all say to find it in the list of apps, then delete it. Nice, except for the fact that it is NOT showing up on that list of apps - it stays hidden somehow. It interrupts me with game ads that pop up randomly, and I did not choose to install this malware in the first place so it's annoying me to no end. I installed two different anti-virus apps; one of them did nothing to Mobogenie and the other at least allowed me to stop it from running, but neither allowed me to actually remove it. How do I remove this? Thanks!
