How Can I Understand Geometry

Can you help me understand this geometry?

I have a geometry packet that I am working on. question has two parts to it.
A.) Write the slope-intercept form of the equation of the line through the given point with the given slope.

B.) Rewrite e equation in Standard Form.

Through (1,2); slope(m)=7
2=7(1)+b
2=7+b
-7 -7
B=5

That is all I can come up with right now. I get lost with the B5 because I have to turn it into function form. Please help.
Thank You

Why can't I understand geometry!?

I had the same problem my freshmen year in high school, I did terrible in my geometry class.
Math has varying fields, just as science. There is geometry, trigonometry, algebra, calculus, and so on. Not everyone will be good at all those fields. For example, I suck at geo, but ace algebra and I'm okay with calc.

It's take time and effort, just ask for some help from your teacher.

How can I understand geometry?

One important thing in geometry is drawing good diagrams, that generally makes things easier to see although many things just get easier through experience.

I don't understand geometry?

I am a freshman and I take all honors classes, and I have taken "pre-ap" classes since I was little. I Have always gotten good grades, except math was my weakest subject. But I still got 88-94's most of the time as my average in pre-algebra&algebra1. But I am taking preap geometry right now and I am doing horrible! The part I don't understand the most is proofs. I got a 77 last 6 weeks,and I have a 70 for this 6 weeks! I have never gotten this low of grades, and I'm really worried because it will affect my GPA. And my family doesn't have a lot of money so if I'm going to scholarships,I need scholarships! I don't understand when my teacher explains things, but once I do the class work, I understand it, but then when the quizzes and tests come around they are nothing like the work we did for it! The quizzes&tests are what is killing me.What should I do??

I don't understand geometry at all, help?

I just went into high school AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING ABOUT GEOMETRY WHAT SO EVER. I know about converses and conditionals and stuff but everything beyond that is just gibberish to me. Right now I'm doing chapter 3-1 Properties of Parallel Lines and 3-2 Parallel and Perpendicular, going into 3-3 tomorrow. I just don't understand anything about these and how to prove angles. I don't even know how to find x which is one of the biggest problems of my brain. I would show a picture but..... I suck at drawing and I have no scanner. And I suck at using paint.... o.O. I am paying attention in class but I barely understand it, I'm even lucky enough to have just passed Algebra.

I don't understand geometry AT ALL?

I just can't understand it!

I can't ask friends- they are either in the math below me, same math (don't understand it either though), or the math above me (they don't remember it though)

I can't get tutors because we can't afford any of them and there are NONE at my school.

I have asked questions but still nothing helps!
I've also tried online stuff like khans academy and all that but still nothing!

When we got out chapter one test back (about 1-2 weeks ago) I saw I got a D ON IT! I studied for 3+ hours everday for a week for that test! And it really pissed me off when my teacher said "Well, by some of your guys' grades, I can tell who didn't study." I studied really hard for it and yet he basically assumed I didn't!!!! I am so stressed out its not even close to the end of the semester and I already have a C!!! I mean if I had a C all year I wouldn't care but I didn't think I'd get one so quickly!

Please help I'm so stressed out! So far this is the only class I'm freaking out about and stressing over! I was basically in tears the other day because I couldn't figure any of my math out! ;(

What is the key to understanding geometry?

If you understandthat the sum of a triangles angles are 180 degrees.Relationships between angles made parallel lines cut by a traversalHow to set up ratios of similar figuresPythagorean Theorem90% of the rest is application of these concepts.The equation for a circle, distance formula,tangent lines to a circle and a radius,Som of interior and exterior angles, proving triangles congruent and properties of quadrilaterals are all tied in some way back to the above 4 concepts.I’m not saying its easy and everyone is not a visual learner. Having a teacher focus on these concepts and then using color and highlighters to help see them when studying other parts of geometry helps.

What are some ways on how to easily understand geometry?

How to easily understand geometry is a tough question because I think you may mean good old fashioned geometry, which is distinct from co-ordinate geometry, and trigonometry. Geometry includes construction, using a compass, of triangles, perpendiculars and bisection of angles. In addition, there are theorems relating to circles. From the top of my head here are some that I can remember from 50 years ago:Opposite angles in a cyclic quadrilateral are supplementary (supplementary means their sum is 180 degrees);The angle subtended at the centre by two points on the circumference is twice the angle subtended by the same two points at the circumference,There actually is no easy way to get your head around all the stuff that is there. The best way to start is to look up all the theorems and learn how to prove them. This will give you a massive edge over your contemporaries. Then you must use the theorems to solve various problems. A text book on the subject usually contains loads of questions with answers.Constructions using a compass are actually very easy. Make sure you know how to do the basic perpendiculars, bisections of angles, and equilateral triangles.I do not know what level the questioner is at and I hope some of the stuff I have mentioned is not too elementary.

This is a geometry question that I do not understand?

There are 6 sides and 9 diagonals... but only 3 longest diagonals. Total options : 6 + 9 = 15

a) to be on the longest diagonal: 3/15 = 1/3 or 33,33%

b) not be on the perimeter... then it is on a diagonal...

6/15 =2/5 or 40%

I don't understand Geometry question?

This question is one of the June Geometry Regents.
It said triangle ABC became triangle A"B"C"
Question was that the composite transformation of triangle ABC to triangle A"B"C" is an example of a ~.
I thought it was (2) reflection followed by a translation, but the answer was (4) translation followed by a reflection.
Wasn't it moved and then reflected over y-axis?
Or maybe i misunderstood "followed by.."
If a sentence says A followed by B, which happens early between A and B??
