How Can I Update My Data Service For Blackberry

How to update blackberrý 9300?

You might want to update your BlackBerry® Device Software for one of the following reasons:

to access new applications and features
to resolve a technical issue
your wireless service provider requires that you update the BlackBerry Device Software.

The duration of the update process can range from 15 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the type of update, the amount of device data, and the number of applications on your BlackBerry device. You cannot use your device or make emergency calls when the update is in progress. During the update, your device might reset or display a white screen momentarily - this is expected. Do not remove the battery while the update is in progress.

You might be able to update your BlackBerry Device Software over the wireless network, from a web site, or using the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager.

You can update your BlackBerry Device Software over the wireless network if a Wireless Update icon appears on the Home screen of your device. You can also check for updates manually through the device options. The available update might be a complete software update, or a partial software update only. If the available update is a complete software update, your device data is backed up on your device and restored during the installation process. Depending on the options set by your wireless service provider or administrator, you might not be able to update the BlackBerry Device Software over the wireless network. Depending on your wireless service provider, extra fees might apply when you download the update to your device.

If your device is associated with the BlackBerry® Internet Service, you can update the BlackBerry Device Software by connecting your device to your computer and visiting www.blackberry.com/update.

If you have installed the BlackBerry® Desktop Software on your computer, you can update the BlackBerry Device Software using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. For more information about updating the software using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, see the online help that is available in the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

BlackBerry: Whenever i turn on data service in my BB 9220 curve, my main balance is getting reduced due to some data transfer even when i disabled all my apps in parental control. How to correct it?

I am the one who has put this question. After a lot of reading and chat with BB people, I got some answer that actually convinced me. BB OS is designed in such a way that it always pings carrier/SIM provider's server at regular intervals. So when ever we turn on data connection pinging would be successfull apparently thus deducting main balance. I unsuccessfully tried to turn off pinging too. As of now, I dont remeber under which menu that option is available. If you want I can give you.

The data service is not operational???blackberry app world problem?

Why does my Blackberry 9900 say "Service not enabled for this handheld" when I try to log in to Google Talk?

I had this yesterday. If you got the phone in the last 24 hours then you have to wait up to 24 hours before your blackberry data package is enabled. Mine took around 14 hours, yours may takke less or more. Keep hard rebooting the phone once every hour (turn off, remove battery, reinsert battery, turn on). This will keep refreshing the network. Now mines sorted I can use everything. Before mine was working it came up with 'service not included in data plan' when I clicked on facebook. You can still use wifi for the internet for the time being, just wait until the data plan is activated which like I said can take up to 24 hours. To check when you turn it on if it's activated yet, go to open tray>manage connections>scroll down to bottom option(service status), then if it says 'blackberry internet services: not available, then it hasn't activated yet. Just wait up to 24 hours and keep turning it on and off. If in affect you didn't get it in the last 24 hours, you've had it longer, contact your network service provider.

Can i use blackberry messenger with my iPhone 6GB data service plan?

The code used to provide the 6GB data service for the iPhone would work in a Blackberry for general browsing etc, however the Blackberry Internet Service functions such as Blackberry Messenger and "push" e-mail would not work. Rogers actually had two different codes for the 6GB plan for this reason (one for the Blackberry and one for all other data devices).
I can tell you that it is pointless to hold onto a 6GB data plan on a Blackberry device anyway, since most people use less than 15MB of data per month. I am a heavy data user on my Blackberry Pearl (constantly surfing and downloading videos from CNN) and still use less than 25MB. For the exact same price that you are paying for your 6GB plan alone ($30), you could have a Blackberry data value package that gives you caller-ID, voicemail, unlimited text messaging, unlimited picture and video messaging, "who-called" service and about 20x more data than you could ever use on a Blackberry (500MB).

How do I use my BlackBerry without paying a data-plan for internet service?

Some carriers, based on my experience with VZW, might make you purchase a data plan when you buy a smartphone, but I have been able to cancel that part of my service after the initial set up.  Then, if your device supports other wireless systems such as WiFi, you could connect to a public hotspot to get access to the Internet.  This has worked on my Windows Mobile 6.x devices, I am not sure how easy it is to change connections on a BlackBerry.  My phone will default to WiFi (as long as it is on and there is a signal) when I turn off my CDMA/TDMA radio.
