Look into jobs in New York City when you get to the appropriate age and look at the prices of the nearby apartments. Ask yourself if you're comfortable living in a big city as a recent college graduate. It can be overwhelming.

Your enthusiasm and passion is wonderful, but realistically it's going to be extremely challenging for you to get into the University of Chicago at this point with your GPA. More than 80% of the applicants who try to earn a spot there are turned down because the competition is so steep. Your hard work will pay off, though, if not for this university than for another one. Continue to work on pulling your GPA up as much as possible, and throughly prepare for the ACT, SAT, and AP exams. There are many prep books that are excellent resources, and you might be able to find them at your school's library, a local library, or online. If you have a Smartphone look into the inexpensive study apps available to help you with classes like physics and for studying for the exams and standardized tests. I would continue to play the sports, especially if you're talented at them, but only if they don't consume so much of your time that your class work slacks. You really need to make your grades your first priority. While extracurriculars are important to elite colleges like U. of Chicago, your grades and SAT scores are significantly more important. You're taking on a lot of very challenging classes, and you really don't need the distraction of clubs right now. If you're the president or another important member of a club, then stick with it, but drop all the clubs you're just a member of until your grades are up. Make the most of your summer by working, interning, taking classes, or doing something else that is productive. The U. of Chicago is known for its quirky essay prompts, and their application usually becomes available in July. Look at it then and write rough drafts of your essays so you can get feedback from your teachers. It's imperative that you apply to "safety" schools that you have a better shot at getting into. Don't just deflate with disappointment about the slim chance of getting into Chicago. The harder you work now, the more likely you are to get into another great school. Once you're in college, apply for honors programs, and do your absolute best in all your classes. If you do well as an undergrad you can apply to Chicago for grad school. Hello, I am an 18 year old guy, I am currently studying carpentry and joinery in college (UK) and I have so for the past 3 years and I am good at it and its somewhat enjoyable but I don't feel like this is something I want to do in life, from when I was 14 I dealt with a lot of de pression and anxiety for 2 and a half years (even thinking about sucide sometimes) and once I overcome this with medication, I realize how important mental health is and that I want to do something related to that, so I can help people who might be in a similar situation. I have tried applying for A level psychology at my collegebut I do not have good enough grades, I do have the basic C maths Cenglish C science but I have no idea what to do, to apply for university or what? How can I strive towards this goal? Thanks

Does this do any good for you when you are living, as well as after your death? Or this is just something that like a illusion that will vanish, the moment you depart this world?To achieve that, what would you do?That, you just got your driving motivation. So, if you can motivate yourself towards your goal in hard days and for long then jump out of the box and start writing and creating short films.Upload on Youtube, talk to many other creators online. In this modern day and age, communication is not that big deal. There are many people in India who have started earning money through YouTube. I have seen people hosting channels from Lucknow, from college hostel. In coming years with more and more penetration of internet, demand of good Indian content on Youtube will also increase. But, if required;You should be prepared to move to any big city with good studios.You should be prepared to fight battles everyday and lose many.You should be motivated enough to work under headache. If your content is good, then even small camera and bad actors can produce good video. Things you could do after completing college.If you can afford don't accept any job and just go create your movies with your camera and join any film school if you can or do a diploma.If not then ask for extension of joining by 4 - 6 months due to any reason, with which you can convince your job provider, in that time do a short course on your creative skills If even that is not possible than join a 5 days/week job and make sure you create every weekend and study books related to your field of creativity during non office hours.Keep doing this, until you think you are capable enough to make a living out of your creative skills.
