How can I run analytics on my address book contacts?
You're stepping beyond your address book with that request - in order to gather the metrics you're interested in you will also need access to your phone billing record.You can probably export both as comma-separated text files (a nice easy start point, and usable by every data analysis tool around). I would then suggest that you take a look at Tableau Public as a a good starting point for simple but effective analysis. You can download the Public edition of the Tableau Desktop tool for free, and you don't *have* to publish your results back to the Tableau Public site(!).You will need to load both your address book text file, and your billing record text file, into Tableau and then link them there (using the phone number to link). from there,m the kind of analysis you are after is pretty straightforward - you will be able to create clean interactive graphs showing use over time, key contacts, most expensive to connect to contacts(!) etc.

Why do recent contacts I put into my iOS address book keep disappearing?There could be several reasons, such as, not properly syncing multiple devices in iCloud. But I'll just take a wild guess here and assume that you are viewing your Contacts in a group view which your recent additions were not included in.So, they haven't disappeared from your Contacts directory, you're just not in the view where you can see them.

Manage it all through a popular backend like Google Docs or Parse. I recently built a contact list app through google docs using this Android app for Rheti and it's working extremely well for me and my company. I don't know if they're out of private Beta but you can request an invite through their site. All you need to do is download the contact list app template from their marketplace, set up your list via google docs, and done. Super easy.

If you are trying to back up or transfer your contacts, I suggest copying the entire AddressBook directory. Of course, the safest way to back up/transfer Address Book contacts is by creating an Address Book archive (File >> Export… >> Address Book Archive).
