You become an explorer and an adventurer by exploring and adventuring....LITERALLY. This truly is a case of where "Experience is the BEST teacher." When I was your age, I couldn't be kept at home or indoors. I was always outside "exploring". Everything about wilderness and wild things fascinated me. I couldn't see or learn enough about it. It was a fire I wouldn't let anyone put out and I kept it burning brightly every way that I could. When I was 21, I was invited to go along on a National Geographic Expedition. Unfortunately, Uncle Sam had other ideas about my future and being drafted into the Army removed the expedition option from my plans. To be a part of an expedition, you have to be a worthy part of the team. You have to be something they really need as a part of their support system. They don't take us along just because we are a nice guy. The more you have to offer them, the more likely they are to consider you. Only YOU can decide what you want to make of yourself. The more you make improvements in your knowledge and ability, the more apt they are to recognize you. You have a LOT of work ahead of you....both in the classroom and in the field. The sooner you start, the better. Keep the fire burning. You can do it. Your fellow explorers and adventurers will be watching you. Good luck.
I want to be an adventurer?
Alright, this might seem a little odd, but I wanna go out and get into adventures, I wanna see and experience things most people don't. I wanna go and do stuff that makes great stories. Im not talking about going and joining the special force to be deployed in north korea to kill Kim-Jong IL, it would be exciting but it would be very dangerous and could end very very bad. What I want to do is the things like Indiana Jones, I still want some danger, but not killing and murdering. So do you have any suggestios to how I can start out, what I can do, and is there any jobs that would give me these adventures I so desperately seek?

It takes a while sometimes for the right job opportunity to crop up in the newspaper and computer. The computer offers the better chance, with 5 available jobs from which to choose daily. Otherwise, use cheat [boolProp TestingCheatsEnabled true] typed exactly like that with caps (but not the brackets) and then shift-click on the newspaper. It should offer you in the pie menu all of the occupational career tracks available (if I recall Sims 2 correctly). Also the level at which you can start, but be forewarned, if you choose a really high start level, your Sim will be "behind" as he/she won't have the base skills and friendships to qualify, so promotions will be a long time in coming.
