I am not originally a Yahoo user, I use an AT&T, meaning I only had access to Yahoo stuff after the merger or whatever. The problem doesn't really have anything to do with your primary email. You can change that at any time or at least add a different one. The problem is the multiple yahoo logins attached to the email accounts. In other words, you could set your new yahoo email as the primary email on all accounts, but you still have separate yahoo logins, and those can't be combined. The reason for this is there's too much potential for abuse. I could write yahoo and say I'd like to combine my main account with another one, and I'd have no way of proving I even owned that account! PS - I assume you've figured out you can log in separately using different browsers.

Email account locked because of text message verification?
I am trying to login to one of my email accounts, but Yahoo refuses to let me login insisting that I type in a code verification via text message. I never entered my password in wrong either. The only phone number yahoo will take is an old work phone that I added years ago. I can't update my cell phone number because I can't login. I can't login because I don't have access to my old work phone that doesn't even take text messages anyway. I try resetting my password via my security question, lo and behold, I have to wait until July 27th to access my security question because it is not "available" or verify via text message.... Anyone else see the complete and utter flawed system going on here? I tried calling customer support, lo and behold, all representatives are busy and cannot take my call. I didn't even get put on hold. I was told to basically hang up and try the Yahoo Help online. So I am permanently shut out of my email account because I can't enter in some text message code that has to be sent to an old phone that I don't use anymore and can't receive texts anyway. Yahoo has to seriously fix its customer support, its terrible email service and security, and has to stop harassing me to "update my profile". I just want to access my e-mail.
