How Do I Convince My Mom To Let Me Get My Cartilage Pierced

How can I convince my mom to let me get my cartilage pierced?

Hey guys I'm 14 and I really want to get my ear pierced at the top but my mom keeps saying no. Can anyone give me advice on how to convince her to let me? Thanks so much!

How do I convince my mom to let me get my cartilage pierced?

either try to reason with her and explain it's not all that bad (try to find what her real problem is with them besides being "trashy" and if it's the age thing, then maybe just wait - you never know, in 5 years time, you may feel the same as her) and they are only "trashy" if you display the rest of yourself in that way. i know plenty of people with cartilage piercings who are the complete opposite of trashy.
:)

How can I convince my mom to let me get a cartilage piercing?

I talked about with my mom about getting a cartilage piercing for my birthday. She told me she was not crazy about it. I have two ear piercings on at the bottom than the top. I really want it because I like the style and I want to different.
I want to get it done at a parlor because I heard if you get with a gun it may tear you tissue.
Not everyone who has it trashy or slutty. I need some advice.

How to convince my parents to let me get my cartilage pierced?

I'm turning 13 and I REALLY want my cartilage pierced but I AM NOT doing it by myself. Money isn't a problem my friend's mom knows how to pierce but my parent's won't let me! I already have my first and then my doubles pierced and I had to beg and cry just to convince my dad to let me get my doubles! But he won't let me get my cartilage pierced for some reason and IDK why! and my mom will just go with whatever my dad says, and they think I want it because my friends have it which isn't true! I've wanted it since I was like 9 and i think it's cute! also they think that if i want all these piercings now i'll want body piercing when I'm older which is totally NOT TRUE the only other piercings i want is my cartilage and then lower cartilage kinda like a third but a litter higher on the other ear and That's all I want! Also if your 16 in MN do you need your parents to sign to get a piercing?? Please help! I really want it!

How do I convince my parents to let me get my cartilage pierced?

There is a question very similar in concept to this one that I answered a few days ago. I feel that it would pertain to this situation as well.Kendra Vogel's answer to My daughter wants a triple earlobe piercing, but I think that's trashy. How do I convince her?I'm not sure if the questions should be merged because it is a different question. Look through the other answers on the linked question; some of them bring up good points about why “trashy” isn't a valid argument to not get piercings.I would suggest pointing out how cartilage piercings are very low risk piercings; they may require extra care but don't need surgery to remove and typically don't cause extensive scarring (like many other piercings out there). Also, you can remove it if you need/want to. There will be a little dot left over from healing, but oftentimes you don't even notice it after it closes up. But remember that after a piercing heals there's scar tissue left in the place. Repiercing it hurts and can take longer to heal than the original one.If you come to a last resort, promise it's the last one you're going to beg them for. I did this for my 3rd lobe piercing on my left ear (I had 3 lobe and 1 cartilage on my right ear and 2 lobe on my left. I wanted to even it out). She made me promise that I was done with my ears being pierced, which I am. She probably thought it looked trashy but didn't say that to me. Getting a harmless piercing wasn't a huge deal, so she decided to compromise and therefore get me off her back about it.You could also make a list of “rules” like I mentioned. That way they know that you will do your best to take good care of it. And get a stud piercing, not a hoop. Plain, silver stud piercings are much “classier” looking to most people, including your parents. Make them see the good, and explain how the bad could be good for them (i.e. If it gets seriously infected you will take it out).Good luck!

I really like that piercing, but I feel like that is going to take a long time to heal and will be really painful. I want to go to nursing school, and a lot of times hospital jobs won't let you wear more than two piercings at a time. I also heard that those triple forward helix piercings close up really fast if you take it out. I really want to get one simple cartilage piercing before my senior year, so that it will have time to heal and I can take it out when I get those jobs. Any ideas how to convince my mom?

Why won't my mom let me get my cartilage pierced?

ok, so i am 13 years old and i really want to get my second hole and cartilage pierced but my mom will not let me. she keeps saying you're 13 not 16 and i say yes i know mom but so many people have it done, whats the big deal? and she doesn't believe that so many people have it done, so i go and log onto facebook and show her pictures of all my friends who have it pierced and then she says whatever i don't care if people have it pierced i will think about it. and this is not the first time i have asked her. i have asked her so many times before and she just keeps saying that she will "think about it" and whenever she says that it always means no. i really want this badly! help!

but how do i talk her into letting me get it pierced.?

How can I convince my parents to let me get a cartilage piercing? They know I'm responsible, will do research, and keep it clean. My Dad's reasoning is that he "doesn't like the look of it!" How can I convince them to let me get it anyway?

What I did was I made a deal with my parents that if I achieved certain grades in school, I could be allowed to get the piercing. I did that and they followed through on that agreement. It might help if you offer to pay for it and explain that piercings don’t have to be permanent if you change your mind.Good luck! I loved my piercing the entire time I had it and I hope you’re able to enjoy having one as well. :)

How do I convince my mom to let me get my nose pierced (I'm 16)?

You have three options:Option 1: You do your research - look into how it is done, how long it takes to heal, how to take care of it, who are reputable professional piercers in your area and what is the minimum age they agree to do it (most places require either a parent present or a consent form being signed if the customer is a minor). You read up on different styles of jewelry, find out from friends and acquaintances and the internet what might suit you best, look into where you can get them and how much it would cost, as well as the piercing itself. Once you have done all of your research, you take it to your mother - tell her about how much you want to do it and what it means to you, tell her how long it takes to heal, that you know how to take care of it, show her you are a responsible person. You must also know how much all of this is going to cost - it is very likely that she will be paying for it and since it is her money, she has no obligation to spend it on an unnecessary ornament. When I was 17, my mother agreed to pay for my ear piercings, but all stretching paraphernalia and tunnels came from my pocket.Option 2: check in with your local piercers to find out their age limits. How old do you need to be to be eligible for a body modification? Do you need a guardian’s consent form? Must the guardian be present? If 16 is allowed and they don’t require consent from guardians and the law also states that it is fine, then you collect money and get it done. If the law and piercers say that no, you need your guardian’s consent, then go back to option 1.Option 3: you do your research and wait until you’re no longer a minor and then get it done. Legally, your mother can’t have a say anymore. The only way you can convince an adult is to convince them of you being a responsible and upstanding person and that your nose piercing is equal to a regular ear piercing - a normal piece of jewelry that has its healing time and is nothing extraordinary. It will not hinder you from getting an education or getting a job. It will not make you do drugs (I fail to see the correlation) nor will it make you promiscuous (again, how?!). If you can put these paranoia out, you’re good. Listen to what your mother is concerned about and talk it through.
