Convince parents to let me get a Macbook?
So for an early birthday gift, (my birthdays 11/05 :) my grandparents bought me an 800 somethin dollar Dell laptop. I really wanted a white Macbook, but they would only get one for less than $1000, because that's what my parents told them. I have been looking on ebay, craigslist, and everything, but I can't seem to get my parents to let them spend some money on me. I would sell my laptop I have now. I found one on ebay, currently at 23 dollars, (yes, i know the price will go up because it ends in 5 days) and theres a lot of good programs already installed, like photoshop-which i use all the time and my parents say im excellent with :P. and its used too! i really really want it. but how can i get them to agree? HELP!? <3

okay so i have a laptop which is roughly 3 years old, but i want a macbook because some programs which are in my laptop are not compatible with other computers which makes the homeworks really difficult to make and also i have to borrow my dad's computer to make them. So i'm starting college next year and i want to convince my parents to buy me a macbook any suggestions???

I'm 14 and going into highschool in a few months. I really want a MacBook air so i could take notes alot easier in highschool, because from what i've heard, you take alot, and i really don't want to lug around 20 notebooks and lose everything. My dad had lost his job but my mom still has hers, we are still financially okay and we've recently bought a brand new TV for no reason for our living room, so i think we are fine. I just need reasons to support my purchase for a macbook air. The decisions usually go through my dad and i would really love some support. The price is 999$. Reason i chose the AIR because it's the latest and the old macbook costs the same, so i'm buying the CHEAPEST and LATEST one. Please and thank you for helping!

i am only 13(yes i do want a mac at this age) im graduating this year and im trying to get ,y parents to get it for me they arent in love with a 13 yr old having a 2 grand notebook(so i did some research and found an air for 1,150 on macmall.com) i took my dad to the apple store and locked him to the macbook air he loved it but hes not convinced try to help m,e give me lots of ideas that will work! thanks(10 points 4 the best answer)

So I've always wanted a MacBook Pro with retina display since my 3 year old windows PC isn't that good. But the thing is my parents just got an iMac for the house, so I don't think they'll get me a macbook since they just got an iMac. I want the macbook because of it's operating system and because it's portable unlike the iMac. My birthday is in July and i really want it for my birthday. And I'm a straight A's student and I'm 14. So, my HP laptop is already 1 year old, and I've heard that they last about 3 years. This is my 2nd PC laptop, and I'm kind of tired of being a PC. Most of my friends have a MacBook (Air, Pro, etc..) and whenever I go to hang out with them, I always spend more time playing around with their Mac instead of with them! All I want is the normal MacBook ($999) and since I'm going into High School in the fall of 2011, I think its time to upgrade to a better computer. My mom has no problem with me getting one as long as I save most of the money up myself, but we can't convince my dad to let me get one! Some apps are only available on apple products, my sister has to use an ipad and a MacBook air for school for this reason. Find out what applications you need for school and whether they're available on other laptops. You might actually need a MacBook. That said, if you don't need one and your online school teacher is trying time view your assignments it is going to be a massive pain for them to have time convert all of your files (which doesn't always work). Why do you really want a MacBook? All laptops are portable and any notebook (which is what a MB Air is) will be light. All laptops can be protected from viruses. Download Norton or Mcaffee. Macbooks are not that great in quality. They fall apart if you place them on the table with any force, or if you slam the lid closed for whatever reason. A Hp or a Dell would last longer. It's not more reliable at all really. That said, I own a Mac. I love the quality of the Retina display and the setup. It's great for photo editing.
