How Do I Convince My Parents To Let Me Go Vegan I Am 13 And I Have Done My Research. My Parents

How to convince parents to let me be pescetarian?

Forgive me if I spelled pescetarian. wrong but lately I've been researching the vegetarian life style and have gained interest in it. I want to be a vegetarian but my stepmom says I'm too young (13) and my mom cooks with a lot of meat. So instead of going vegetarian, I thought I could tell them I'm going pescetarian to lighten their views on it. I don't eat fish that often though. I need tips on convincing them and maybe substitutes for this meat that I would usually eat at dinner.

How can I convince my parents to let me go vegan?

I m 13 and I ve been vegetarian my whole life. I recently started recovering from anorexia, but I am completely fine now and fully recovered. My doctors are keeping me just in case and my parents won t let me go vegan until doctors say it s okay. I keep telling my parents over and over again how cruel killing animals is, but they just keep arguing that we re vegetarian so it s ok (even though ALL animal products are damaging to animals). Also, my mom is concerned that I won t get enough calcium and protein. She s afraid for my development getting messed up. I really, really need to convince them that I should go vegan. Any ideas on how I can do that?

How can I convince my parents to let me be a vegan?

This question is the one that annoys me the most. By not allowing you to be vegan, your parents are forcing you to participate in something horrifying. Something that is going to ruin the planet for your own children. It´s not right. nobody should be forced to eat dead bodies if they don´t want to.You could get your parents to watch `what the health`on netflix. That is actually quite eye opening because believe it or not, mcdonalds and chic a filet are not actually watching out for people.I stopped eating meat when I was 11. My mother let me and i´m grateful. That was 44 years ago and my daughters, my mother and two of my brothers are all happily vegan.Ps. My mum hasn´t eaten meat in 40 years now and been a very strick vegan for 5.She´s the healthiest 80 year old that I know. In mind and body.Meat eaters go on and on .. and on, about their right to choose to eat meat. Completely ignoring the fact that there is a sentinent victim, which means it doesn´t just affect them and then they don´t allocate the right to choose the kind and ecological and much purer path.Very sad. There is not a single nutrient in meat that you can´t get by eating healthily and taking those tiny little B12 vitamins that are injected into cows.

My parents won't let me go vegan! :(?

I'm a 13 year old girl at a healthy weight (117, and im 5'7.5) and i've been vegetarian for almost 2 years now, but they said i'm not allowed to be vegan until i am 15, but i want to be one now! They don't understand how horrible and guilty i feel whenever i eat any animal products, and i've tried talking to them and getting them to listen but the bottom line is always no. Their reasoning? "It's not healthy" and i explained that it is WAAYYY healthier then all the processed crap that they eat but then they just get mad :( Is there any way that i can convince them to let me be vegan?

My parents wont let me go vegan!?

Don't you just love the abusive responses you've received?

Sister, your parents are worried because some girls use improperly-planned vegan diets (lacking in calories) to hide their eating disorders.

However, if you are willing to follow a properly-planned vegan diet, with plenty of calories and nutrients, then it's fine.

Vegan diets don't require specialty foods. Vegan meals are based on beans, grains and pasta, fruit, and vegetables. Simple and cheap.

Your parents may have concerns about your health as a vegan. However, they can be assured that the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association, and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (the world's largest association of Registered Dietitians) have all stated that properly-followed vegan diets are healthy.

American Diabetes Association's statement on vegan diets:

You and your parents might find it useful to make an appointment with a Registered Dietitian. A Registered Dietitian is a professional with a university degree in human nutrition. They can help your parents to understand vegan nutrition, and to reassure them. They can also help you to plan nutritionally-complete vegan meals.

You can find a local Registered Dietitian through this website: http://www.eatright.org . Just click on the "Find a Registered Dietitian" button, located in the upper-right-hand portion of the webpage.

Tips on convincing my parents to let me go raw vegan?

I have stumbled upon Freelee the Banana girl videos and I have watched tons and I think this is the lifestyle for me. I am 13 and I really hate the torture of animals. Also the fact theres so much bad stuff in the meat we eat and so much mercury in fish!! I suffer with depression and a lot of other health mystery problems. im in pain all the time. most doctors just give me a prescription or my mum has to pay for tons of tests.
I think by going vegan and exercising I can become healthier and happier by allowing myself to balance out. any tips? my dad thinks he knows it all about the meat industry. "you wont get enough protein." "just because they look healthy doesnt mean they are healthy." I just wanna roll my eyes and be like GIRL, BYE. but unfortunately hes my dad so I have to basically follow his rules unless I can convince him otherwise until im 18!!

For teens: how did you convince your parents to let you go vegetarian or vegan?

I let my oldest daughter go vegetarian almost 4 years ago, her younger sister joined in last year. I have no problem with it, and enjoy not having to cook meat. However, a lot of their friends say their parents won't let them. When I ask the reasons, they seem embarrassed and give me vague answers. I would like to know the arguments a parent might give a child against it - and how to counter argue FOR it. I'd just like to be able to give kids information that might help persuade their parents to at least let them try, and actually be supportive of their child. Thank you!

How can I convince my parents to let me eat chocolate?

Do a little research to present to your parents. You'll be happy to know that chocolate help release "happy" endorphins and is an excellent remedy for mild depression. It's why so many girls crave it during that-time-of-the-month.

Unless your parents have worked with a food allergist to determine that chocolate is causing the crankiness (and that is the case with some people) and it isn't a weight issue, than they probably don't have much information to support their decision. Show them the studies and present your facts.

Good luck!

My parent's won't let me go vegan?

I have news for you: every 16 year old has conflict over something with their parents . It's part of natural development. If it wasn't over food, it would be something else. 10 years from now you'll be shaking your head and laughing at yourself, and giving young people this same advice ^_^

Also, if you read the questions In this category, your going to find that a16 year old knows very little about nutrition, certainly less think they do. (the 13 year Olds are worse! Many have no clue as to what is meat and what is not)

But that is ok! It's normal. We all have to learn. ^_^

So my advice is to tell your parents to go-ahead and schedule that appointment with the nutritionist, and make sure one of them comes with you. YOU WANT them to come with because no nutritionist in then world is going to tell you that being a vegetarian is bad!

Beat them at their own game! And they will have to pay pay for the visit!

But the real benefit is that nutritionist is going to give you a head start in vegetarian nutrition! Your going to leave there with a wealth of information on what your body needs and how to it without eating animals!

That nutritionist visit is a very good thing for you. First they will get your parents off your back and second you will get info it took the rest of us years to learn!

Good luck!
