How to cure social anxiety?

whenever i'm around people, except for a few, i get really nervous and paranoid about what to say. people say i'm weird, but i just get really anxious and uncomfortable with people....how do you cure this? is there a pill, or just a way to get rid of this nervousness? i don't have many friends, and I think this may be why. No one wants to be around someone awkward, do they? because in turn it makes THEM feel awkward, doesn't it? Does anyone else have this problem? Sometimes I drink to relieve these feelings, but I can't always depend on alcohol to cure my nervousness with people forever. What are some good tips to feel more comfortable and confident with people?

How to get over social anxiety to go to the gym?

The number one thing you need to do is to work on being comfortable with yourself.

What does it matter if people see you struggle? Even the biggest, toughest, bad *** struggles with something. Weight lifters will struggle when they push themselves.

I know it isn't easy but try not think about people looking at you and judging you. You're going to the gym! That is sooo much better than so many other people how want to go to the gym but never get off the couch. Be proud of the things you have accomplished.

As far as working out - you really shouldn't be pushing yourself so hard that you struggle every time you work out. Perhaps you need to lower the amount of weight you lift. Try not to worry about it if it is not a lot of weight. Just be proud of yourself for going to the gym. If you rep smaller weights more, then every once and while push your self and lift the heavy weights that you struggle with you may see better results. The most important thing is to have good form. Good form will give you the best results and keep you from harming yourself. When people struggle and lift too much weight that is the easiest way to loose good form.

Also you may not need to worry about expensive protein shakes, just eating healthy may give you the best results. If you later decide you want to become a body builder than you can revisit the protein shakes.

I'm 18 years old, and i'm pretty sure i have social anxiety. I feel very nervous and anxious when i talk to certain people, or when i talk to a group of people i've never seen. My heart starts racing and i can tell that my face gets red. I also don't like public speaking.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?
