How Do I Get Proof That I Received Snap Benefits In Previous Years

How do I transfer SNAP benefits to another state if I move to another state but remain resident in the first?

Reporting changes for SNAP requires that you report a change at your application, re-determination or FS IR. It is ILLEGAL to receive SNAP in more than one state though and can be punishable to a 10 year disqualification from the program. You need to cancel your SNAP benefits in the state you are currently receiving and then call the state in which you are moving to and inform them of your move to their state and when your SNAP is ending in the state you came from. If you dont have your driver license or ID card in the new state you can always prove your move by a rent receipt or a bill or something showing you are now living in their state.

How can I obtain proof that my mother has received food stamps for the past 12 consecutive months?

Your mother needs to ask her caseworker for a statement that she has been receiving food stamps for a year. There is a welfare office in every county. I doubt that they can give you the information because it is confidential. Or you could obtain letters from her landlords for the past twelve months in which they state what months she lived in one of their units.

Will my income tax be taken for repayment of SNAP benefits?

My ex-husband and I were receiving food stamps in Illinois from 2007-2010. We split up and he moved out of the house. I continued to receive benefits until I moved out of that state in 2011 (I have 3 kids from my previous marriage). We left all the bills in his name instead of trying to get everything switched into my name. Well, earlier this year I get a letter that says the state of Illinois says I defrauded them because they believed he was still living with me. Apparently he never put in a change of address, he moved to Kentucky. Well now I have to repay $5700 due to an overpayment. I have decided to just pay it back instead of hiring a lawyer to try and prove I didn't defraud the state. My question is will they offset my income tax refund because of this? I have called the state and set up a payment plan and they didn't say anything about it so I'm not sure. Thanks for any help.

Letter Stating Proof of No Persona Income for SNAP?

Call them as ask them what they're looking for, maybe a date of last employment or a doctors diagnosis, or whatever it is that's keeping your from affording food. Even a pay slip, since some jobs leave you still qualified for SNAP. Or maybe they want copies of your overdue bills.

Can Florida give you your drivers license/state ID if you receive food stamps, for free?

I came across information that struck me. Someone told me that one of their family members works for the dmv in florida and said that if you have or receive food stamps, then your drivers ID/state ID is free. Is this true? And can you verify any law or such with a link below.

Should food stamp and welfare recipients be ineligible to vote while receiving benefits?

Absolutely! So long as they receive:Free housingFree food and clean waterFree child careFree access to the InternetA clothing allowanceFree medical careUnlimited educational opportunitiesYou’re basically stipulating that, as wards of the state, welfare recipients shouldn’t be allowed to vote. I’m fine with that, so long as they actually receive the benefit of being a ward of the state. If your intention is merely to harass, humiliate or shame welfare recipients by stripping them of their voting rights, then I submit that you are not a good or moral person, since you take pleasure in the degradation of others.I will say that, as a requirement for access to a generous welfare state, recipients should be obliged to go to school: eight hours a day, five days a week, fifty weeks a year. That should clear the welfare roles in five years. How do we pay for it? Eisenhower-level tax rates on people making more than ten million dollars a year.

S.N.A.P. eligibility household question...?

I am a former SNAP caseworker, so I can give you some information. The SNAP guidelines state that a person under the age of 22 cannot claim a separate food stamp household from their parents if they are living in the same home. So until you turn 22, the law will not allow you to have your own separate SNAP benefits while living with your parents. Once you turn 22, you can file for SNAP benefits for yourself and the only stipulation will be that you have to eat and prepare meals separately from your parents, so basically your mom couldn't cook your vegan dishes and serve them with the family dinner, HOWEVER, the agency does not check into this (there is no way to really), so this would not be a real issue.
Also, there are laws in place that prevent a full time college student from getting food stamps, but I don't remember exactly how it worked. The basic premise was that if you could afford to get financial aid and go to school full time, the government wasn't willing to provide you with food. Plus if you have a job, that income would be budgeted as well, so you actually may only end up with a few dollars, if any in food stamps (the maximum for one person is about $150 a month). I have a friend who's only income is 670 a month SSI and he only gets $40 a month because he doesn't pay much in rent or utilities.
Hope this information helps.
