How Do I Get Rid Of A Huge Pimple On The Back Of My Leg

My dog has a white pimple on her back. What could it possibly be?

It’s most likely a sebaceous cyst that all dogs can get and that looks like a hard white bump that can vary in size from very small to sort of huge, like a couple of inches in diameter. The vet told me they are harmless and you should just leave them alone; they eventually may pop open by themselves and you can just gently squeeze out the waxy substance and then clean it up with a soap and water and a disinfectant if that happens. They often just disappear on their own. It doesn’t warrant a visit to the vet; but ask about it at the next appointment to be sure. However, if the pimple looks inflamed, red, weird, or infected, or you have any doubts about it at all, you should take the dog to the vet and have it checked out as soon as possible. My seven year old dog would get a lot of these cysts. She also had a big benign tumor growing on her chest. The vet said he should remove the tumor because it was getting so big. When I took her for a second opinion, the new vet said she had to have the tumor and all her cysts surgically removed too because they might be cancerous. The first vet and my surgeon husband had already told me the tumor was almost certainly benign and I already knew the cysts were harmless, so I didn’t trust the new vet.Our regular vet removed the tumor which was benign and my precious baby lived to be 19 years old.

Why do the pimples on my husband's back smell?

It was an awful deathly smell that sprang up into my nose just after I popped it. White stuff came out of the zit-like bump. He has gotten it before but not this bad whew! Anyone know what that is? Also, he gets these HUGE blood blisters in between his legs that look like mondo pimples. Sometimes they have lots of white stuff in them and sometimes those are just blood. Keep in mind that this is a different problem but may be linked. He is only 26.

Ive got a HUGE pimple or boil on my leg or inner thigh wht could it be?

If it's huge then it might be a boil. If it doesn't go away or get better in a day or two, definitely go to the doctor for evaluation. I say that because it could turn into a skin abcess (pocket of pus). Skin abcesses are not good because they get deeper and deeper and only resolve with appropriate intervention by a doctor.

Very big pimples between legs?

I believe that you may have a condition called Hidradenitis Supprativa. It is a condition of re-occurring boils/ cysts/abscesses , that are often misdiagnosed as ingrown hairs, herpes, being unclean and folliculitis. This is a newly diagnosed skin condition , but there is a lot of info out there.
Here is a link :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hidradeniti...
If this sounds like it might be you, READ it, PRINT it out, and TAKE it to your DOC.
Its better to try to start treatment soon, it can spread over the body if left untreated. These boils can become quite large and painful. Sometimes even lasting for weeks or months , do not attempt to POP them they can then tunnel under your skin and spread all over the body. Most common areas are armpits, groin, binkni line, inner legs, and intimate places and basically anywhere that sweats and rub against clothing. Stress is a big inducer.

There is some support groups at MSN

and yahoo, and I am open for questions!
I have had this for 8 years, I was misdiagnosed for a LONG time, It was very embarrassing, painful and scary. I am just trying to help out so you don’t have to wait as long as I did.

I also prefer to use NEXCARE bandages.. there are 2 kinds I like for comfort and stay put reasons..
the first is like a clear bandaid.... soft on the edges with a small area of bandage... helps with those buggers when they are on bikni line.. usually stay for me.. or occasionally on my inner thigh for those I like the foamy sponge like ones that are beige in color.. I think they are some 3M.

Very sore lump on back of leg, very painful,LOOKED LIKE PIMPLE,NOW BIG RASH, HELP!!!?

If it continues to grow very fast then see a doctor very quickly - it MIGHT (maybe, but don't panic, yet...) be a staff type of infection, which can get out of control rapidly. Just be cautious and keep an eye on it.

Also, many folks have had good luck taking Hydrogen Peroxide and using a small container to hold the stuff on the spot for several minutes, If you see fuzzy bubbles that's good...

Of course I am not a doctor - but I would think that applying some Neosporin to it for tonight might be helpful... that is what I would do...

I have this really big pimple on my back how can i pop it?

No no no no. You can't die from a pimple. Unless it's open and a ton of bacteria enters it, and takes over your whole body, leaving you severely ill, then nope, you can't die from it. Here is what you do:
Put ice on it. Wrap up an ice cube, and put it on the pimple for at least 10-15 minutes. This will keep down the swelling. Then put rubbing alcohol on it. This disinfects it. Put a hot compress on it. As hot as he can stand it. Do that for about 10-15 minutes. This will bring all the pus up. GENTLY squeeze it. If nothing comes out, do it again. Do it hourly, too. It draws up all the pus that needs to be released. If after a day or two, nothing has happened, take a STERILISED needle, and gently puncture the pimple. You must make sure the needle is clean, or it will lead to an infection. Make sure you puncture it deep enough that it goes through all layers of skin, that way the pus can come out. Squeeze it. If it pops, wash it really quick with soap & water, then put rubbing alcohol on. (It might sting) Now, this actually works. It will sound weird, but I use this whenever I pop a pimple. Crush up aspirin, or tylenol. Make sure the aspirin is like powder. Crush it up very well. Take a TINY dab of neosporin. Rub it on the popped pimple. Then take some of the powdery aspirin, and place it on the pimple. Leave it on for about an hour. You will see a difference. The neosporin is so it doesn't scar. The aspirin decreases the size of the pimple!
Now if all that doesn't work, try toothpaste. I hear that works.
Or take him to a dermatologist to get it checked out.
Hope this helped, good luck!

Huge hard red bump on the back of my neck..?

I have a huge bump on the back of my neck. Its like a zit, but hard. And it only just pussed a dot. What is it? It also hurts to put pressure on or when it is touched. I've had it for 2 days now.

How do I get rid of those bumps on my legs? They kind of look like goose bumps?

I think I know what you are talking about. It's called Keratosis Pilaris. It is most likely hereditary. It makes your skin look like "chicken skin" or like you have constant goosebumps. The most common place to get them is the backs of arms, thighs and calves.
The good news is that it doesn't cause any other problems, but the not so good news is that it will most likely never be completely clear.
A helpful thing to do is to exfoliate-gently,nothing rough(that helps only a little-but anything is better than nothing) and stay hydrated.
There is a prescription medicine that your dermatologist can give you but it is very expensive and not usually covered by insurance, since it is only a cosmetic condition. It works very well, though,so if you are willing to spend $50-$60 for the tube it may be worth it to you.
You can also go to the skin lotion aisle in your local drugstore. They have many lotions available specifically for this condition. These creams don't have the same ingredients as the prescription but are much cheaper-again,they only help a little, they won't completely get rid of it.Hope this helped!Good luck!

My daughter has a raised bump on the back of her leg with a white head. It has a 2" diameter raised bump and its slightly warm to the touch. Does it need urgent care now or is a doctor's visit tomorrow morning fine?

It looks like something that may need to be lanced. Only an ER doctor or your pediatrician would know for sure. You can also use warm compresses on the bump to try to encourage it to open and drain on it's own. If it does "pop" on it's own, make sure to have some sort of topical antibiotic ointment or cream  on hand to put on the bump. These ointments are inexpensive and sold in every drug and grocery store.  Topical antibiotic ointment/cream is something that should be in every persons's medicine cabinet on the planet for first aid, especially if you have small kids.DO NOT, repeat DO NOT try to puncture, pop, or squeeze this thing on your own. You could end up making the infection worse and possibly spreading it to other areas immediately around the current site. This would be bad. Please keep in mind that topical antibiotic cream may not be enough and she may need oral antibiotics. If there aren't other lesions on her body, it still seems pretty likely that something got infected; fever or not.  Bug bite, infected cut, clogged pore, it could be anything. A doctor, by far, is your best advisor at this point. As a mom with 3 daughters, I have seen these kind of bumps before on my kids and I highly reccomend you have this looked at by a professional.  Better safe than sorry.
