How Do I Get Rid Of This Sticky Stuff In My Eye

Why do I have some yellow stuff in my eye?

You without a doubt must see a Doctor. This could be an
infection. Allergy's. To you it should be a big red sign, Doctor...

Weird gooey stuff on my earring holes?

I've had so many problems with my ears. I originally got them pierced when I was 8, but then a year later, I had infections in both holes. The earring on my right ear just completely tore through the lobe, and I needed surgery on my left ear to get the earring out. I got them re-pierced when I was 13 and I've had no problems, I've also had doubles put in. Now the scar tissue from the right ear is peeling off, and this weird black goo is always on all 4 earrings. I usually only wear the cheap kiddie studs, and I'm not allergic to any metals. The black goo smells bad to, like rotten cheese. I do take the studs out when I shower, and I wash the holes with a Q-tip ever since the goo started up.
So what is this goo? Is another infection coming?
(I'm 17, and I got the doubles when I was 15)

My dog has green stuff that come out of his eyes please help ???

.As you know, that crusty or mucus discharge your dog gets in her eyes after sleeping is normal. That discharge actually is from the eye's natural self-cleaning efforts.

Eye infections are fairly common in dogs, they can crop up on their own or when something lodges in the eye. They can also occur when the surface of the eye, called the cornea, gets scratched. A telltale sign of infection is the appearance of the discharge: It will often be thick, yellow, gray, or green. It may form a crust on the eyelids as well.

Dogs are also prone to seasonal allergies, and the only sign may be a sticky eye discharge. Unlike bacterial or viral infections, allergies usually result in clear discharge. Your pet may be scratching himself and have bloodshot eyes as well.
Keratoconjunctivitis sicca" is a fancy way of saying the eye is dry. “Kerato” refers to the cornea or clear covering of the eye that faces the outside world. “Conjunctivae” are the moist pink membranes of the eye socket. “itis” means inflammation and “sicca” means dry. KCS means inflamed, dry cornea and conjunctiva.
It occurs when there is a deficiency in the water portion of the tear film which normally accounts for 95% of the tear volume. Without the water, one is left with oil and mucus; hence, the gooey yellow eye discharge characteristic of this condition.

Basically, if your dog has been having a watery or discolored discharge from the eyes for 48 hours or more it's time to schedule an appointment with your vet.

Your vet may give you eye drops or an ointment to treat your dog's eyes.

Why do I always wake up with white icky stuff on my lips every morning?

This is not unusual, it’s mucus gathering up and trying to get out while you sleep. It’s caused by post nasal drip gathering up to form a biofilm, a thin layer of bacteria that covers your teeth and gums as well. Dehydration also contributes to this. When we’re awake, we lick our lips and it keeps the sticky stuff off for the most part. These are just a few things that happen to us while we sleep. One night I dreamed I was at the beach eating roasted marshmallows with my friends and when I woke up, my pillow was gone.I had a terrible stomach ache that day and I never found my pillow.

How to remove sticky tape from the eyes of negatives?

Some photo processors put tape on one side of the negative (film sprockets) for handling and processing purposes. The commercial machines use the tape to run the negative through the printer without a film carrier like what you would use.
The tape only needs to removed so it will fit your hobby film carrier. If you have a film carrier (I would use a 6x6 with glass plates) that can accept your negative with the tape then you don't need to do the extra work.
When you remove the tape, some of the gum left will be left on the negative. You can carefully remove this residue with isopropyl alcohol 70% using a soft Q-tip swab. Try to stay away from the main emulsion area to prevent any damage if the emulsion is thin.
When you print your negatives, the sprockets should not show up on your prints if properly done. This applies to all sizes of negatives (110 to 35), 120 (6x6) and larger film have do not have sprocket holes.

Why are his eyes like this - pics?

Hey,
What Oscar has is called "tear stains" common in dogs that have long hair around their eyes. The way to avoid this would be keep Oscar's fur around his eyes cut short so that it doesn't get in his eyes and irritate them.
To make the "tear stains" disappear, you can get wipes (I saw them at Wal-Mart) specifically designed to take the stain out of your dog's fur when he gets stains.
It's kind of like a baby wipe and will not cause him an discomfort at all. Just apply the wipes as instructed and monitor his skin. If the product seems to make him uncomfortable or irritates his skin, discontinue using it.
It might be a suggestion to ask your vet. I don't think it warrants a special visit. If there is brown discharge from his eyes or he seems to be experiencing discomfort or has trouble seeing, you might want to get that looked into.. but from what I can see from the pictures, it's merely a case of "tear stains" and can easily be remedied.

Hope this helps! Oscar is a sweetie!

Is the white powdery stuff that leaks out of a AAA/AA battery toxic or dangerous?

Carl Willis, BS Chemistry, MS Nuclear Engineering2.9k ViewsConsumer alkaline batteries sometimes leak under conditions of neglect or misuse.  The electrolyte in these cells is potassium hydroxide (KOH), which is caustic and can cause tissue damage if it gets in your eyes in particular.  It also attracts moisture and usually forms a white efflorescent crust of potassium carbonate after sitting for a little while.  It is important to wipe up this electrolyte and carefully clean the battery compartment with a damp cloth to prevent it from migrating deeper into the electronics and causing irreparable damage to the circuit boards.  Be sure to wash your hands and don't get any electrolyte into your eyes.

During surgery, why are a patient's eyes taped shut?

All previous answers were excellent and correct. This practice (taping the eyes shut) really only refers to general anesthesia cases. Local anesthesia (MAC) cases don't usually require eyes to be taped shut. The "goop" is usually a bland ophthalmic lubricant like Lacrilube, Duolube, etc.Two potential issues with taping the eyes shut (usually under a gauze patch) can come from either not taping one eye completely shut (resulting in exposure keratopathy- the corneal problem that many of the other authors referenced), or high intraocular pressure from "pressure-patching" the eye too tightly. This is actually the more potentially dangerous of the 2 , but also pretty rare in my experience.

Is my rabbit sick?

This could be due to infection, allergies, or a blockage in the tear duct. You want to keep the weepy area as dry as possible to help prevent secondary irritation or infection. Take little Benjamin to the vet soon, so that a cause can be pinpointed and fixed. He'll be much happier afterward. Good luck!
