How Do I Know If My Braces Are Broken

My Power Chain Broke on My Braces!!?

I'm 19 and I had braces for like 4 or 5 years I can't remember but you are definately good for 1 night especially if you go the next morning around 10. It shouldn't delay anything considering it's only 1 night but some people wait a week or 2 or even until their next appointment to say something and THATS when it delays them getting their braces off. If it did happen to delay the process it would only be for one more visit but I highly doubt you have to worry about that.

p.s. if I can give you ANY advice.. seriously please please please wear your retainer every night for 8 hours.. but make sure you ask for permanent retainers on the top AND bottom of your teeth. It will help you out in the long run and you wont ever have to worry about missing a night or going without your retainer.. I didn't wear my retainer for 3 years and I just forced it back in today.. it's literally the worst pain I've felt in years.. Your teeth WILL shift back.. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS wear your retainer!!

Power chain on my braces broke!?

I have an appointment next week, but I dont know if I should wait?
What should I do with it? It broke at the end near my molars on my bottom teeth on both sides. Do I take it out?
I wouldnt be able to go to the ortho today, but I might be able tomorrow
:(

Broken powerchain for braces?

The powerchain is to apply force to bring your teeth together and so when part of it breaks it reduces the tension. But it depends on how long youve had it in and when your next appointment is.

Because the tension will be so weak (if u had it in for some time) it may not be necessary to go to your ortho to have it replaced (and dont worry replacing is free for that even though the first reply says it costs -- they clearly dont know).

If your next visit is not for a long time (say mroe than 2 weeks) then call your ortho to go in to have it replaced.

When and how do i tell my mom i broke my braces?

i just broke two different parts of my braces. i have had them for about 8 months. when i had retainers, i broke them twice too!! my mom is going to get so mad @ me and probably make me pay! i don't have enough money for it either. should i wait to tell her until after the holidays because it might ruin them, but she will be in a happier mood now. p.s. how do i tell her?

What should I do when I broke two of my braces (the wire)? Will the orthodontist be mad at me?

What should I do when I broke two if my braces (the wire)? You must talk with your orthodontist and depending on how your wire is broken, usually it will cost money to have new wires to replace the broken ones.Loose wiresWire came off of bracketThose are not a big deal and can be fixed.Whatever you have done that broke your wires, it should not have happened. It rarely happens. Will the orthodontist be mad?No. You will most likely be warned so that it won’t happen again. But there is no reason for an orthodontist to be mad at you since you are paying the orthodontist for this treatment. It could be that your orthodontist has not secured the wires properly for your braces. Or it could be that whatever you have chewed must have been as solid as ice.

A bracket of my braces broke off and I don't know how to tell my parentS?

Something always happens with braces. They are supposed to be put in so that you won't have these problems. It isn't your fault and the repair of the braces is part of the normal cost of the braces. Just tell your dad the truth that you know that there are always adjustments and problems with braces. Actually this shouldn't have happened and might just be the fault of your Orthodontist. You need and can get your strenth and your courage together and tell your mom or dad. Your mom will need to speak to your Orthodontist to let him know and to see if it is alright to wait for your next appointment. Try not to be nervous. There will always be things that you can control and things that you can't. It is important for you own well being to know and let go of what you can't control and just do the best you can and always the right thing.

Omg, my braces/ hook broke?!?

Well, i had to get rubbed bands for my braces but when i first got my braces they dug in my lip so they got rid of the hooks. then they used this like wire and made a fake hook. well, the fake wire just popped off on one side and the rubber band, hte colored one, the bracket and the fake hook are just hanging there!
should i

1- take them out and just put in a baggy?
2- can i asemble it back?
3- etc!!!

HURRY! i'm freaking out! nad my orthodontist is closed today. i'd have to go tomorrow. what do i do overnight?

My hook for elastics on braces broke?

Call the orthodontist office first thing tomorrow morning and explain to them what happened. It is odd that this has happened to you twice already! Are you yanking particularly hard on that little hook, or twisting it in some bizarre way/direction?
If you wear elastics on two sides and just one side is broken you will probably be instructed not to wear them on just the one side, since it could cause your bite to go crooked with the non-symmetrical force from one-sided elastics.
Mostly you're just going to have to call the office tomorrow and see what they tell you. If you have to forgo elastics for the next two weeks it isn't likely to set you back very much at all (really, just two weeks) but since I don't know your individual mouth I can't say for sure. If it is really super important that you have those elastics on your orthodontist should be able to direct you to someone local to where you're on vacation, and you can go and have your braces fixed directly at that location. No harm done!
Good luck and happy vacation! Try not to worry too much about it!!
