If you cancel a booked ticket, this will be deducted from the count from that 6. I had such experience. I had book 6 tickets in a month. But it was essential to book another ticket. At this position, I cancelled one of the previous booked ticket, and I booked one new ticket on the same month.IRCTC counts only tickets having “BOOKED” status and not those tickets having “CANCELED” status for the 6 tickets in a month quota.
