How Do I Post A Question Without 140 Characters On Yahoo .

Why won't yahoo let me post a question?

There are a few reason a question does not post.

To start easy if you are using the % symbol in your question it will not post. You need to spell it out.

Second you must stay within your daily limit of questions you can ask a day (from and to midnight Pacific Coast Time). Your a level 1 so it have to be 5.

Third is the character limit for Ask a Question. This is 140 characters which should be your header for your question.

Third is your Details. Details are located on the bottom center of the Ask a Question box. This is where you explain your question. You have 2,500 characters on a computer or 1,500 on a phone device to do this.

Any of the above can cause your question not to post.

Hope this helps.

How do you get more than 140 characters on Yahoo Answers?

The 140-character limit is for the question header (what goes in the 'What's up?' box). That should BE the actual question.

If you need more space, click 'Details' below the question. That will give you 2500 more characters on desktop/1500 more on mobile. You can click and drag the lower right corner of that box to give yourself more room.

You can also click 'Expand' in the lower left of that box to go to a new, dedicated page in which you can type and preview your entire question. Selecting that option will show how your question will actually appear once it posts on the site.

After submitting the question, you also have the option of adding up to 5 'Updates' to your question.

Why does Quora have a character limit for questions?

In my own experience, the character limit is ridiculous. Of course we don't want junk questions, but that's what the Downvote is for! If the question is too long or inappropriate, the community will ignore or downvote. Now I can't ask questions that require detailed explanation. For example, "is there XXX application on the market?" I need to list my requirements for this question, but I can't.Many people who write answers on Quora make great effort to answer in detail. In respect to their effort and good intention, they should be able to see as much detail of the question as possible. Character limit works for Twitter because it encourages fast information transmission, but for many, Quora is a place where you SLOW DOWN and ask questions that CAN'T be explained by Googling or friends. It is the place to write careful and detailed question and answers, to gain and share quality knowledge.Surely most questions can be asked in one or two lines, but those are like "What is the most frustrating thing about being a computer programmer?" Does Quora think these  kind of questions valuable? I can just google for the answer. Setting a character limit for questions is encouraging these type of questions and discouraging well-thought questions, and in the long run, deviating from Quora's slogan: "The best answer to any question"ANY question? Good luck, Quora.

Why will yahoo answers only give me 140 characters to ask a question with? I see other people ask longer questions.?

they have changed the Ask feature slightly and it is confusing because the option to add details is not automatically visible under where you type the main header - you have to enter your question where you normally would but then you have to click on Details to get this feature - that is where you add to your main question

by clicking on Expand, this makes the ask box fill up your whole screen instead of dealing with that tiny box on the right side but it does not mean you have more characters to work with

if you want the Ask feature to be as similar to the old way as possible, BEFORE typing any text in the box, click on Details, and then click on Expand, which appears in the bottom left corner
as you can see from my screenshot, the Ask box now looks very similar to what it was before they made these unnecessary changes that have caused many to misuse the answer box to add details to their questions

***the other change is that you can't choose a category while you are doing up your question so after you submit, if you are not happy with the category that is chosen for you, click on Edit Category (above your Q)

it only gives you a few categories, so if the one you want is not in that short list, click on All for a list of All Categories (the word All is just above the suggested list)

after you submit your Q including added details, you can click on the pencil icon to add an Update but avoid using the answer box to add details or updates as this is only for when you have found an answer to your own Q after you submit it

because you can no longer delete your Q if it has even one answer, Y allows you to add an answer yourself as you can't delete a Q you no longer need to get answers to

My yahoo answer wont let me post a certain question why is that it keeps saying Sorry Try again later?

Are you using any % signs in your Questions ? if so you have to Remove it and Spell it out Yahoo wont take Percent Signs

Make sure you are not Exceeding the Character Limit also if you see Numbers in Red then you have Exceeded the Character Limit and you need to Shorten it to get it to post

Why is Abswers not posting my questions?

Im trying to ask a question based on my relationship but everytime I try, "we could not post your question, please try again later" pops up in red. Is it something in my question or is the server down ooorrr...?

How to attach pictures on Yahoo Answer?

Some people told me I have to be level 3 to attach hyperlinks. But as I said before, I have already posted some questions with picture links before but I forgot how. (Not through the Photo button). And on google, people said that I need to post the pictures on photobucket or other websites but my previous picture questions did not require me posting them beforehand.

I included some links from my previous questions:

Etc (I have posted some questions with pics from my camera before, but they mostly use the s.yimg links, idk how or why)

And the picture that I want to ask today is from my camera. How do you attach it?

What are the best answers for: "in 150 characters or fewer, tell us what makes you unique?"

Most people will answer this question by talking about their experience or education, and add descriptions like 'hard-working, loyal, team-leader, etc.' THIS IS WRONG.You should always answer with what you will do to improve the company. What ideas do you have that will make life better for your interviewer? Lead with that. In this situation, what you will do to make this company better, and to make life better for the person interviewing you, is a benefit to them. Your benefit to the company is what will get you hired. Therefore, always answer this question with benefits first, followed by features only if relevant. For Example: "In my last position, I managed my own team within the marketing department, so I know what it's like to collaborate with others and lead a marketing campaign.  I have ideas for crafting a new marketing message that will more effectively tell the story of why this company is great and compel people to buy your products." It's that easy. More @http://career-consulting-limited...
