Do skirt zippers go on the side or back?
Some skirts side zip, some back zip... an easy way to tell is usually the tag is still in the back on a side zip, so if your tag is in the back, your wearing it right. But clothing manufacturers get tricky sometimes and put the tag on a side zip beside the zipper. In this case, lay your skirt out flat on the bed and line up the waist hem where it is even across... if the skirt dips down on one side, then that side goes to the back.
How to widen a new pair of boots?
I just got a pair of boots from buckle. They are ankle boots with some hanging buckles and bands. They are a size 10, which is larger than I usually wear but I have a little wider foot. My left one goes on with a little struggle, but my right one won't go on! I've tried using a tool to get my heal in, heating the heel holder up and had a friend wear them for a couple days and it still wouldn't loosen! I don't think they are real leather cause its kinda fuzzy in a way. Any suggestions? I can't go to a cobbler cause there is not one in my smaller town! Closest one would probably be 40 minutes away. I can't take them back because they are Sooo cute. I'd like some home fixers if at all possible! Thanks much!

How can you fix a zipper which has come off one side and won't fit back on?
A shoe repair shop usually has a heavy duty sewing machine that can help fix the problem. The last time this happened to me was on a 10 year old winter jacket that I still loved. I wrote to the manufacturer, Lands’ End, and asked the cost of fixing the zipper. They phoned me to ask a couple of questions, and told me to send them the jacket. They phone me again to say they were sending me a new jacket, but no longer sold it in the same color, so pick a new color. A week later my new jacket came, and I’m still wearing it. I love that company!
Things to do with combat boots with broken zipper?
I have a lovely pair of combat boots. I loved them and wore them all the time until one day one of them would only zip up halfway. I kept wearing them. Eventually, this zipper wouldn't zip up at all. There are teeth missing and the zipper pull is only attached to one side. They were only $35 dollars so I'm not going to go out and get them fixed. (Only one shoes is affected by this the other one zips up just fine) I got a new pair but I still refuse to throw out the old ones. Any ideas on what I should do with them? How to alter long riding boots?
I cant afford custom made boots at £300 for a pair, so tahts out of the question. Also, I cant just go to a tack shop as all that my local one sells is 15" Mountain Horse boots. I have a 19"-20" calf with jods on, and I really want to compete this summer, so I need to find them quickly if I am to do this. They were only cheap boots aswell, about £40 inc postage, but they are well made and branded and they fit my foot properly, so I don't want to go ruining them. The elastic idea sounds good with a zip. Thankyou for all the advice.

Why do track pants have zippers at the bottom?
I’ve noticed some sports pants over the last couple years have started to have this design, and even some pants that are not workout clothes have also had this feature.One person has already mentioned it is probably so people can more easily change clothes without taking their pants off. Opening the zippers make the bottoms larger so they can fit over the shoes.Also, I would like to add, the first time I saw this design was when I made leather biker pants for a Terminator 2 costume I used for Halloween and Comicon; I had zippers installed since I tend to be a stickler for details. How can I fix a zipper that pulled up too far?
My coat zipper somehow pulled up too far - past the point it would normally stop - and is stuck (I had to pull it over my head to get out of it). Is there any way I can fix this, or do you need a special machine? Thanks!!!
