Once you've connected the G1 to your computer, mount it. To mount it, you must turn on your phone. Once turned on, on the top bar to the left (near the battery bar, time, etc.) is a notification (it is a picture of a USB). "USB CONNECTED, SELECT TO COPY FILES TO/ROM YOUR COMPUTER" Press MOUNT (a.k.a yes) when it asks you if you want to mount (a.k.a sync phone to computer). Then an auto play menu will pop up on your computer, PRESS IMPORT PICTURES. CONTINUE ON LIKE HOW YOU WOULD WHEN TRANSFERRING PICTURES FROM CAMERA TO COMPUTER :)

Personally, I would choose an Android phone any day because on the iPhone: -cant take out the battery -no removable memory -only Apple-approved apps -STILL no true multi-tasking like Android -cant customize your phone AT ALL -no Flash support -cant install apps from your computer -no widgets -no free GPS navigation -no mobile hotspot -no free wireless music downloads -no ringback tones -no refunds for paid apps -all file syncing MUST be done through iTunes (pictures, etc.) -Android phones have more memory storage -most Android phones have better cameras -no standard USB cable like all other phones -the new iPhone has horrible antenna issues -instant Android OTA software updates- don’t have to wait a year like iPhone -can’t get service in an ATT store- have to find an Apple store -works on ATTs horrible network -no unlimited data -tethering comes out of your data plan instead of being separate Android is miles ahead of Apple- with the new 4.0 software, Apple is only now letting people do things that Android can, like add folders to their home screen, because God forbid that anyone should be able to do that on their cell phone!! And even in 4 years, they haven’t been able to give the iPhone true multi-tasking capabilities, like Android. It took them 4 years to put a flash on the camera for crying out loud!! By the time Apple puts out a new iPhone, there’s a better Android phone out 4 months later. Bottom line: they will always be trailing Android. By fall, the Market will have over 100,000 apps, which is more than the Apple Store had at its 2-year mark. Android’s open-source nature will always be more appealing to devs and phone manufacturers because they can market to every carrier, and dozens of phones, instead of 1 carrier and 1 phone. The possibilities are literally endless as far as Android is concerned, because ANYONE can make an app to do ANYTHING on the phone. With Apple, they have to approve every single app that goes into the Store. They even rejected an app because it said the word Android in it- how far do you really think they’re gonna go with that kind of closed-minded thinking?? I want to decide what goes on my phone, not the other way around..

How do I restore my accidentally deleted contacts from an Android phone?
Basically, when you use a android phone, you must be signed in to the phone using one of your google account. Google helps you backup and restore your contacts very easily just in few steps. Before, you might want to try restoring, I would suggest you to login to your gmail account on a PC and go to the "Contacts" Menu as shown in the figure below.You should find all your contacts in this window.Now go to your phone, follow the steps:1. Go to settings.2. Go to Accounts.3. Select Google.4. You should be able to see all your google accounts here. 5. Make sure you have the same account that holds your contacts is configured here. (Otherwise add it using "Add Account" option)6. Now you can synch all or any of your desired applications as below.7. Make sure you have the Contacts Sync button on as seen in the above pic.8. Now, press the 3 dots in the top of the above screen, and select Sync Now.9. You should be able to see all your missed contacts, are getting synched from your gmail account. Now, what if you do not have your contacts in your gmail account?If you have them in form of soft copy (any file) you can import it in to your gmail contacts as CSV file. and then sync them up easily to your mail.So, I recommend all of you to enable auto sync in your android device with your google account and make sure the contacts are synched by checking in the gmail contacts. Do lots of bookmarks take up space on my android phone?
They can contribute but It's probably not the only factor. You'd have to have a TON of bookmarks for it to make any noticable difference whatsoever. They're not a big memory sucker by any means. However, combined with other factors like old text messages, too many contacts, a lot of cached content, fragmentation etc. Your phone can be clogged up and slowed down. In fact every time you download an app it creates folders on your phone to hold its files, and even if you delete or uninstall the app, some of those folders and files are left behind in what some people call a "memory footprint" and over time those add up too. Here's what I would recommend: 1. Download the dropbox app. 2. Sign in or create an account 3. Sync all content you want to keep to your dropbox account. (Pictures music etc.) 4. Make sure other content you want is either on your SD card or synced to your Google account. (Contacts should be synced with your Google account) 5. Reset your phone to factory defaults. (This can be done in the settings. It's slightly different on different phones but may be located under privacy. ) 6. Once your phone is wiped download the dropbox app again and sign in Then download all of the content you want on your phone. When starting up your phone it should tell you to sign into your Google account and that will automatically restore your contacts. ... If you're really super worried about losing your bookmarks you can just download any file manager/viewer app (there's plenty) and use it to go through all of the files on your phone and delete the ones that are old/unused. This will take a while and be careful not to delete anything important.
