How Do I Use A Numark N4

Am I able to hook up my M1USB Numark mixer to Traktor Pro? If so, how?

Which is better for a beginner DJ: Numark Mixtrack Pro 3 or Numark Mixtrack Platinum?

Sorry for the belated answer. I’m really amazed by you people not giving a simple answer to this question, but instead confusing our beginner DJ even more!!! So, the question was: Which one is better - The Mixtrack Pro 3 or the Mixtrack Platinum?Speaking of my experience, I got the very first Mixtrack Pro back in 2013 and heavily used it for DJing until 2016. Although it lacked gain knobs, which are essential to any DJ, I really loved the device. It was a pleasure using it, even at 8-hour-long events. Especially the big Jogwheels were way ahead of their time, quite responsive and 100% accurate!Long story short: Out of the two controllers mentioned, the Platinum is obviously the better value. The displays help you identify the BPM of the played tracks, making the synchronising process a lot easier since you don’t have to stare at your laptop monitor all the time.

Electronic Music: I'm looking for a from-scratch dj set up using Serato. Where do I begin?

For beginners' with Serato I'd highly recommend Numark's wonderful Mixtrack Pro II, which comes with a copy of Serato LE (or at least, mine did.) There's also the Mixtrack Quad which is a 4-channel version and doesn't cost much more at all, I'd recommend that if you're willing to spend the extra $20-30 or however much it is.If you have money to spend i'd go for the Numark N4.

I have an RCA to 3.5mm connected to the booth output on my Numark N4. I'm trying to record a mix with Audacity, but it's not recording anything. The sound waves are blank, what's going on?

It's unclear at this point if the problem is the source (Numark N4) or the system you are trying to record with. I would figure that out, for instance by attaching a phone playing music to the computer, instead of the N4.The problem could be a lot of things:* you could be plugged into the wrong port on the computer -- you should be plugged into a "Line In" port, but a "Microphone" port could also work. "Headphones" or "Line Out" ports won't work.* you will probably have to select the port you plugged into as the "Input Device" in the operating system's Sound control panel* you might need to select an input / change the input volume, etc. in Audacity* I don't know how the N4 works, but there may be settings (level, etc.) that need to be adjusted correctly thereHave you ever recorded anything with Audacity before?

I want to be a DJ. Should I buy a Pioneer DDJ-SB2 or a Gemini CDM-4000?

Before buying any controller, you should learn some basics:how music is structured (beats, bars, phrases)train your ear to recognize parts of your favorite songs (start of the phrase, chorus, verse)learn to count beats and phrasestry mixing with some basic software, like Virtual DJ, to get the hang of itUnless you are going to get a DJ-ing job right away, invest in some low-entry console. Make sure it has gain, EQ, sync (debatable, I kn0w) and it’s also well made, like some Pioneer low entry consoles. But honestly don’t spend too much money until you know the above mentioned. Youtube is full of tutorials, dive right in.
