I shot Canon DSLR for 8 years and owns a Lumia 1020 for 1 year. So I guess I'm qualified to answer and answer would be fair and good enough.Comparing them is like comparing a super car to a hot hatch. A good modern hot hatch is as fast as super cars in most roads, legally. They are also as comfortable, more economical, and easier to drive. Super cars are obsolete.For everyday use, I prefer to shot the 1020. It simply sharp enough, colour renders good enough and I can share my photos faster. Good enough for serious works, and on some cases even sharper than DSLR.However the canon DSLR is on a completely different league. The feeling of shooting it, the clicks of its shutter, the feedback of the camera to me, the speed and responsiveness, the creativity that can be done with dslr, the fun of shooting is the one that the Lumia 1020 lacks. More the DSLR battery last for weeks so I never have to worry when outing. E.g. Shooting 50 shots a day with a battery rated for 1000 shots will lasts you for 20 days.So for vacation I will always use the DSLR as I feel happy in shooting my DSLR. My lumia stays in my pocket waiting for a phone call so its battery can last for more than a whole day. So if you are serious about shooting, and intended to use the DSLR everyday, then the DSLR is better. But if you are just a casual shooter, the Lumia 1020 is better!

(Profiles -> Connect -> History)- There you have it. Details are arranged in a nice manner. TO SEE CALL DURATION OF LAST CALL TO THE CONTACT- Go to your call log.- Long tap desired contact until drop down menu appears.- Choose DETAILS from drop down Menu.- There you have it.

Looks great and feels good too. iPhones have superb after sales services too. The number of iPhone users is more than windows users. iPhone gets respect(atleast in India).. But it comes with a price… Its damn expensive and the OS is very closed. You cant customize it at all.Where as on the other hand is Lumia… It runs(newer ones) on the Windows 10 os. Windows 10 works on pc/mobiles/xbox/smartbands etc. This helps in a lot of way… Right now more than 300 million people are using it… The app development is growing (but not at par with Android or iOS) . You get a universal UI on your pc and mobile which helps you to stay synced all the time well..But lumia are less expensive, a but more open than iPhones (you get file manager..etc) has options for dual sims.So its up to you to decide which is better… iPhones are no doubt the first preference of millions of people but Windows is getting great too. In coming years Windows will be at par with other OS. As of now you can go with iPhones or Android smartphones…
Is Nokia's Lumia 1020 an excellent camera or just a gimmick?
It's just a gimmick...sensationalism at its finest, marketing propaganda call it what you like, the important factor in quality images is the size of the photo sensor...people who have a genuine interest in photography understand this, the average punter in the street doesn't so smartphone manufacturers 'suggest' that the more megapixels the better the quality of the photo...and it's not exactly true...it is misleading. I honestly believe that the Nokia camera will produce decent images for 'snap happy' teenagers, you won't see many professional photographers using smartphones just yet to cover 'weddings'...that's a pity...because it would save them an absolute fortune..! No it isn't anywhere near as good as your 10 megapixel camera (as long as we are talking about cameras - not a smartphone camera)...and the smartphone image wouldn't have much room for 'cropping' or manipulation - compared to a dedicated camera image with fewer 'megapixels'. @ Rob...I'm actually a fan of Nokia Rob...never had a bad experience from a Nokia product...and used a lot of them before 'Apple' knocked them right out of the game...I have the greatest respect for them as a manufacturer. Seriously though...if Nokia has developed or made technological improvements on the scale that you suggest...then they would be making cameras and not 'smartphones'. Yes the cameras on Nokia products have been greatly improved and put much of the competition to shame...they do not threaten dedicated cameras in the slightest...and that is what the nature of this question was...I, myself and Sound Lab aren't 'mockers' of Nokia...we see their products for what they are 'smartphones'...if you are serious about quality images you just don't use a smartphone camera. Before I answered this question I realised that I was entering unfamiliar territory, I wouldn't put Nokia in the same basket as some other smartphone manufacturers...who have been milking the megapixel propaganda purely for profit...as I say I respect Nokia for their effort in research and development.
