How Do You Get Cpr Certified

Where can you get CPR certified?

Americanheart.org and locate a local CPR Class to get CPR Certified. If you are in Michigan, Rockford Ambulance has CPR certification and First Aid classes each month in the Grand Rapids Area. American Heart Association CPR Certification is for 2 years. BLS (Health Care Provider) or Heart Saver (Lay-Rescuer). Grand Rapids Michigan is an incredible place to live (and visit). I hope you find a local cpr class. Thanks

How do i get cpr certified?????

There's a few ways you can do that. I actually got certified through my high school health class. Contact your local American Heart Association, Red Cross, YMCA, and even a Community College. Those are the places that normally offer the course for certification. The YMCA actually offers baby sitting certification as well.

Where do I go to get certified in CPR? ?

first contact your EMT instructor and ask if they will be providing the class. if they say no go to american heart assocation. sometimes the city you live in might have some thing goin on as well. i know it say pre-requisite but i had to do the same thing they provided the class tho. you will get a certifiacate showing that you have passed the course takes about 5 hours to do so and can cost from 15 to no more than 100.

Cpr certified?

There are different types of CPR classes out there for you to take. I would recommend the Heartsaver for Friends and Family courses. There are adult and infant classes I would recommend both.
American heart association's website is a good place to start looking for information on CPR.
http://www.americanheart.org
They have a class locater:

They may also offer classes online.

As an CPR instructor and EMT, I would also recommend a basic first aid class.

How old do you need to be to be CPR certified?/?

It depends on where you live. The Red Cross offers CPR as part of babysitter training, but you have to be 11 to enroll. Call your local Red Cross or area hospital and ask.

How can you get a CPR certified online?

You cannot solely get certified in CPR online. There are many companies that falsely advertise this, but most employers will not accept these programs. Trust me, it will be a waste of your time & money. I suggest going through American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute. You can complete a Blended Learning Course through these organizations. That's where you complete the cognitive portion online & then schedule an appointment with a certified Instructor to practice & test the hands-on skills component.Lori Roper, Owner/Lead InstructorPriority One CPR & First Aid Training, LLCWebsite: Priority One CPR & First Aid Training, LLC

How much does it cost to get CPR certified?

You get what you pay for (in general) CPR classes take a business time and money to put on. Manniquens, Books, Cards, Building, Oversite, Internal Education. etc. Some cpr classes cost an arm and a legs (maybe they figure you will return for a first aid class to get them back). Rockford ambulance is a non-profit AHA training Center near Grand Rapids Michigan, and we must charge for our cpr classes to be organized and provide quality traiining. Also, when we have run classes for free to the public in the past, most of the participants did not show up for class as planned. Very disappointing. Thanks

Can you get CPR certified online?

You can get just about anything from the Internet including CPR certified but if you care enough to want to learn this skill don't waste your time and money on a certificate that will not be recognized by any legitimate organization. Personally there are only 2 organizations I've used since first learning it in 1984, American Heart & the American Red Cross. I've been a CPR/First Aid instructor for both in the past and I've yet to experience any one who doesn't recognize their training. I encourage you to seek out CPR/First Aid training, just don't waste your time on anyone who offers it online because when it comes down to needing to use CPR you are going to wish you had learned it correctly from legitimate instructors. Good luck!

How to write that I'm CPR certified on my resume?

I'm CPR certified through the American Heart Association's BLS for Healthcare Providers Program from 4/2011 - 2013. I want to include this on my resume in the skills section without it getting too lengthy. How should I phrase this on my resume?

Would something like this be okay:

CPR certified (American Heart Association, 4/2011- 4/2013)

or should I I write the following:

CPR certified (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Program, 4/2011- 4/2013)

If you have any other ideas on the best way to phrase it, please let me know.
