How Do You Play Ps2 Games On Ps3 Super Slim

How do I play PS2 games on my PS3 Super Slim?

The Slim and Super Slim PS3s are not compatible with PS2 discs. A modded one might be able to though. Here’s a fun fact, all PS3s play PS1 games. Even though later PS3 models removed the PS2 emulator, the PS1 emulator was never removed along the process. If I remember correctly, the launch PS3 had a separate GPU specifically for PS2 mode, actually. If you really need a console to play your PS2 games, buy a PS2 or a launch edition PS3.

Can you play PS1 games on a PS2 Slim?

Yes, you can play PS1 games on any PlayStation Model as long as the system matches up with region coding of the PS1 game (NTSC, PAL, etc.), however, some games will not work. In most cases, incompatible games will be games that require use of the link cable for multiplayer. The single player mode will work, though. There are also certain games that Sony claims will not work in any model of the PS2. These are...Arcade Party PakArcade's Greatest Hits/Atari 2Fighter MakerFinal Fantasy Anthology (Occasional graphic glitches on save/load screen in Final Fantasy V, no issues in Final Fantasy VI; this glitch was fixed in the green label Greatest Hits version)Monkey HeroTomba! (Contrary to popular belief, Tomba does work on the Playstation 2. However, you must allow the intro sequence to play for the game to start up properly.)X2 (Glitches in menus)Mortal Kombat Trilogy (The game will only freeze on a PlayStation 2 if the "BUY IN SCREEN" option is set to "OFF".)There are also games that are incompatible only with the SCPH-30001. These are...The Legend of DragoonMetal Gear Solid: VR MissionsFinal Fantasy Tactics"Destruction Derby Raw" (Game does not recognize memory card. Occasional audio stutters and system hang ups.)"Destruction Derby" (Game does not recognize memory card.)"Krazy Ivan" (Game does not recognize memory card.)Refer to the following page for more information. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

Can a ps3 super slim play ps2 games?

just because a PS3 is fat does NOT mean it can play PS2 games. there is a fat 40GB and 80GB and neither of them play PS2 games. the only models that can play PS2 game discs are as follows:

20GB - CECHBxx
60GB - CECHAxx, CECHCxx
80GB - CECHExx

all of the other systems can NOT play PS2 game discs. they can, however, play PS2 games downloaded through the PlayStation store.

backward compatibility for the PS3 with PS2 games is as follows on NTSC-U/C systems:

20GB (4 USB slots, fat, no longer in production) - YES
60GB (4 USB slots, fat, no longer in production) - YES
80GB with 4 USB slots (fat, no longer in production, bundled with MGS4 or Motor Storm) - YES
40GB (2 USB slots, fat, no longer in production) - NO
80GB with 2 USB slots (fat, no longer in production) - NO
160GB (2 USB slots, fat, no longer in production) - NO
120GB/slim (2 USB slots) - NO
250GB/slim (2 USB slots) - NO
any other up coming PS3's - NO

in short: if it has 4 USB slots, yes. if it has 2 USB slots, no.

also, you CANNOT mod a PS3 to play PS2 game discs. it is impossible.

as stated on the PlayStation website: "If a PlayStation 3 is not backward compatible, you will not be able to add this function through any hardware (i.e., changing the hard disk drive) or software (i.e., updates, homebrew) upgrades or modifications."

the software found on the PSN is for backwards compatible PS3s ONLY, and will NOT make a non-BC PS3 backwards compatible with PS2 games.

Can a 500gb super slim ps3 run ps2 games?

actually, it depends. are you talking about PS2 games on disc? if so, then no. that hasn't been possible since the 80GB. BUT, it can play PS2 games purchased and downloaded from the PSN.

Can ps3 12gb slim play ps2 games?

Only if you buy the PS2 games from the PSN Store. Those work on any PS3.

PS2 games only work on disc with older Fat PS3 consoles that came with 20, 60 and sometimes 80 GB hard drives and have 4 USB ports.

How can you play PS2 games on PS3?

It depends on the version of your PS3.The 40GB, 80GB re-release, 160GB, and the slim version of the PS3 are not officially backwards compatible with PS2 games because all hardware chips from the former console are omitted and there is no software emulation. However, all versions of the PS3 are able to play PS1 games. Here is a list:List of PlayStation 3 backward compatible PlayStation 2 and PlayStation games

Which is the best: PS3, PS3 Slim, or PS3 Super Slim?

I would say the super slim. I've owned multiple of the other 2 but only 1 super slim. The original PS3 isn't worth your money, you'll have it a couple of months then the YLOD will mentally kill you or your motherboard will mess up, or the disc 'tray' will break (don't know what to call it, as it just slides in :D) so many problems with this console that they should all be sledgehammered.the slim was the console that should have been released first, even if we had to wait a little longer for it. It was way better but still had many, many faults, many of them were still the same. I had to buy a fan for the slim because the overheating was overwhelming. I also had the same problem with the disc 'tray'.but the super slim, the only way the disc tray could break is if you did it yourself. I didn't have one problem with it and I had it for 2 years. Well, it didn't come on one time but that was because of the power cable, which I replaced after of course. That was the longest I ever had a PS3 for. The others lasted probably 1 year max lol.If your actually considering buying a PS3 then deffo the super slim. I'd rather spend that money for the PS3 on a PS1, won't last as long but the nostalgia is incredible, always get goosebumps
