How Do You Stop Feeling Lightheaded Or Dizzy

How can I stop feeling so dizzy and lightheaded in school?

Make sure you eat a good breakfast, ask to go to the bathroom every so often to splash some water on your face and take a drink from a bottle or fountain or whatever.
Relax - you're almost done.

Why do I feel light headed and dizzy?

Hi, thanks for looking at my question. For the last 3-4 days i have been feeling really light headed and occasionally dizzy. Its normally better in the morning when i wake up and is completley gone for a few hours but by the afternoon it comes back to how it was the day before. I dont know if this has anything to do with it but in the last few days i have just got over a throat infection that i have had for about 2 months, they both coincided at the same time. The throat infection finished but then this started straight after, like on the same day. I also have a slightly swollen lymph gland under my armpit but that has gone down a bit the last couple of days. Also, yesterday i sat down for my meal and had a funny turn. I had a really weird rushing, cold(sorry cant explain it any better) feeling from my chest to my head but it went away after 30 secs or so. I feel occasionally nauseous but only once or twice a day for a short time. Thanks for any help.

Feeling very light-headed & dizzy after vomiting?

I started to feel very sick after breakfast this morning. I ended up vomiting and felt better- but now I'm feeling very dizzy/lightheaded almost? I sort of have a ringing in my ears. Even as I type this it's very hard to focus my vision....the screen looks far away or something. I almost feel "high" or something (I'm not. I don't do drugs/rarely drink).
Today I woke up at 6, went to work until 9:30am, went to class at 10 til 11, went to the grocery store, got home at 12ish and ate some cereal w/soy milk. I still felt hungry so I had a yogurt.
What is going on and what should I take to feel better? Should I have a quick lie-down? I have to be back to work at 4.
Thanks.

Why do I feel dizzy/lightheaded after reading for a long time?

In my clinical experience, this is a common complaint of patients ,and there are several possibilities as to why this may be happening. I agree that the first step should be having an evaluation by an optometrist. If that is the problem…. easy fix.Common causes I have seen is poor eye tracking and eye stability which can be evaluated with VNG (videonystagmography). Believe it or not, when looking at a target, it only takes more than a 2 degree slip off of your fovea (the part of the eye that provides clear vision) to have a 50% decrease in your visual acuity (sharpness of vision/clear vision).Sometimes you may not notice the vision being blurred because of the constant movement and speed of your eyes (measured in milliseconds….VERY fast), but you may have dizziness or even headaches from your eyes not being able to move smoothly or jump to the different words on the page as accurately as they should.Orthostatic hypotension is always another possibility, but occurs mostly when changing positions and not just reading without moving. This can easily be evaluated by your doctor. If the eye exam is normal and your doctor states you do not have orthostatic hypotension, vestibular rehab has helped many patients at our clinic to “fine tune” their eye movements to follow targets better, especially with reading.Hope this helps!

Why am I getting dizzy/light headed after crying?

I have been crying almost every single day becasue my brother and dad bother me alot.. I don't want to get into detail. I have been crying for about 2 hours now because my dad has made me upset. I'm not a very sensitive person I cry when things are serious so I can't just stop. I just get super light headed and felt like I was tipping so I drank water. Any reason why?

How can i stop getting light headed when i sing?

Breathing from your diaphragm means that when you inhale, your stomach comes out more than your chest. Breath like your chest is paralyzed, make sure your shoulders are relaxed and try to be centered like they would tell you to do in a yoga class. Actually, I think you should take yoga.
If you can sing like that for a full minute before noticing a problem, you're using more oxygen then you're able to take in. You need to practice taking in more air, practice holding your breath too, that should help teach your body to maximize each breath you take. Like Houdini practiced holding his breath for his underwater stunts, he had to practice holding his breath for longer and longer. You build up to it. Relaxing more muscles so that you have more oxygen to use for the singing, not just remaining upright. If your range increased rapidly, maybe the rest of your body just needs to catch up.
Just to be safe, see your Dr and perhaps he'll do a stress test or whatever test they do for people with asthma, then you can see how much oxygen you're body is working with and whether or not your light headed episodes are from the singing or something else.
Also, don't underestimate the power of a healthy diet. Having too much fat on your body(like Pavarotti) is really bad for a lot of reasons, fat on the outside means there's fat on the inside. If there are fatty deposits on your heart, it has to work extra hard under conditions it wouldn't have to if it were in a healthy state. Eating vegetables with antioxidants like spinach and broccoli actually help your body get more oxygen into your blood too, I don't know how that one works but if you're interested, email me and I'll research it for you.

Is it normal to feel light-headed when smoking?

That light-headed thing you get after smoking would disappear after sometime if you continue smoking everyday. BUT if you stop every now and then and smoke like maybe once every other week (like I do), it would go on and on because your body would always take the nicotine as a foreign thing.

I used to smoke everyday but then I stopped when I left the Philippines, after a few weeks of smoke-free lungs, I tried it again and I thought that single puff was gonna make me collapse haha!

I guess in some people there would really be a point in their lives where they would try smoking (mine was when I was 16!!!) but I tell you, once you get hooked, it really would be hard to quit. :P But hey, if you have strong self-control, why not?

Lightheaded and dizzy really frequently?

Dizziness can refer to various conditions, from when we feel faint, unwell or light-headed, to vertigo or difficulties with balance. It can be caused by problems with your inner ear, your eyes or a mix up of nerve messages to your brain. It can also be triggered by other medical conditions, some minor, some serious, such as a drop in blood pressure or a heart condition. Sometimes your medication may cause it.

Feeling lightheaded is the feeling of being "spaced out" or having the sensation of spinning inside your head. It can also give you the sensation that if your lightheadedness worsens, you might lose consciousness. Causes may include:

* Inner ear disorders. These abnormalities of your inner ear can lead to illusions of motion and make you feel like you're floating.

* Anxiety disorders. Certain anxiety disorders, such as panic attacks and a fear of leaving home or being in large, open spaces (agoraphobia), may cause dizziness. Sometimes one cause — such as a vestibular disorder — may produce symptoms, but then anxiety causes your dizziness to persist even after your inner ear problem has resolved.

* Hyperventilation. Abnormally rapid breathing that often accompanies anxiety disorders may make you feel lightheaded.

As a general rule, if you feel dizzy regularly and you do not know why you are dizzy, it is best to see adoctor to get it checked out.

Sometimes Light headed and dizzy while playing soccer. This happen to anyone else? Why could it happen?

Yup. Potassium. Drink plenty of gatorade. First, get your doctor to give you a quick check up to make sure there are no underlying heart probs-you never know. Anyway, here is what MAY be going on...

Potassuim is what literally makes your heart , well, pump. There are other electrolytes invoved, but your body can do things to adjust. Potassium is different. It is used up quickly and sweated out even quicker. What may be going on is your heart telling your body "hey, I need more potassium" and giving it an odd electrical impulse. This causes a thing called a "sympathetic response" through a giant nerve that runs in a meshwork called the vagus (the real term is a vaso-vagal response-but that is a bit too much for here) and, saving you tons of boring details, causes a slight drop in B.P., in turn causing light headedness.

So when you feel like that-stop, drink gatorade (NOT WATER!!!-water will just dilute you)

What should I do when I feel dizzy after a heavy lifting set?

This is pretty common. There is a possibility it’s the result of bad breathing or inadequate blood sugar. Make sure you’re well-hydrated, that you had something to eat about an hour prior to working out (but not less than an hour), and that you are breathing consistently as you lift.Chances are though, it’s exertion. Blood is rushing to your muscles as you exert all of this effort, and your legs in particular are massive muscles using a lot of blood (and consuming a lot of oxygen). That’s a lot less oxygen available for your stomach and brain, which can make you feel nauseous and light-headed respectively. It can also be caused by dramatic changes in blood pressure. The muscle strain and lack of available oxygen causes your heart to beat faster, raising your blood pressure.Try increasing your heart rate before you begin lifting, such as with some cardio. It could also be a good idea to take a knee after your finish your deadlifts. This will prevent the blood from rushing out of your head too quickly (as happens when you stand upright) and give your body a few moments to normalize.Try these 15 minute exercises which make a real difference: The Vertigo and Dizziness Program vsl cb
