How Do You Tell An Extra Nipple From A Mole

I have a total of six nipples. Four of them look like moles. Is this common?

They are called Supernumerary nipples and they are known to happen. They can form along the Milk line because we humans still have the potential of having more mammaries than just two. They can form at all the 8 spots of the milk line.It is not dangerous, but many doctors will offer you surgery if you want them removed.

Third nipple?

Hey, I have a third nipple right below my right breast. I was born with it, I know (it's small, like a child's, and won't grow). I was just curious how I came by getting that, and how common it is? Please help!

What should I do if I have three nipples?

Be glad you have an extra, just in case. Lots of people have three or more nipples: "Often mistaken for moles, supernumerary nipples are diagnosed at a rate of 1 in 18 males and 1 in approximately 50 female humans." http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/S...It's not a big deal though it is a little unusual - but far less unusual than having red hair in China -  and it may make you feel a little uncomfortable taking your shirt off in public spaces. If it makes you extremely uncomfortable, you can probably have that extra nipple removed, just like having a 6th finger on your hand or 6th toe in your foot reduced (although those are usually removed in childhood.)

Why do some people have three nipples?

Because they're special...:)

Can a third nipple be removed through lasering?

I'm 14 and i was wondering if you could remove a third nipple through lasering. The type of lasers they use to remove moles? Because i've been to mole removal and i thought if they can remove soemthing so black n so thick why not a nipple right? Anyway i'm going for my second mole removal the end of this year and was wondering if they could try removing my nipple.

Why are people born with a third nipple?

Third nipples or "nubbins" are non-functional genetic defects.

Some people have more than one nubbin.

EDIT

A supernumerary nipple (also known as a third nipple, accessory nipple, polythelia or polymastia) is an additional nipple occurring in mammals, including humans. Often mistaken for moles, supernumerary nipples are diagnosed at a rate of 2% in women, lower in men. The nipples appear along the two vertical "milk lines", which start in the armpit on each side, run down through the typical nipples and end at the groin. They are classified into eight levels of completeness from a simple patch of hair to a milk-bearing breast in miniature. Polythelia refers to the presence of an additional nipple alone while polymastia denotes the much rarer presence of additional mammary glands.

Im growing a third nipple, what do I do?

If you are absolutely sure it is a third nipple, then I wouldn't worry. If it's growing, then you could go to the doctor just to make sure it isn't a new mole or freckle. Heck, touching a third nipple is good luck! I'd tell people I knew about it, as if they know you're comfortable with it then they won't react in a negative way. It's perfectly natural. Best of luck with your lucky charm!

Is there a correlation between amount of nipples a creature has and the amount of children per pregnancy?

First thing first: you’re in excellent company to be raising this question. No less luminaries than Aristotle and Alexander Graham Bell pondered and theorized about the ''one-half rule':The average number of young in a litter is one half the typical number of mammaries and the maximum litter size is equal to the total number of mammaries.Humans, which you inquired about in particular, have two breasts and give birth to one young, or maximally two.But guess what? That is what’s typical.Extra nipples and/or breast tissue occur in about 1 percent of the human population. Often, we might not ever notice, what with the accessory parts looking little more than moles or just brown dots.I hope this isn’t sending you right to the mirror!(Scratch that, I hope it does.)More at Of Breasts, Behavior and the Size of Litters

I want to wear a bikini, but I have a third nipple on my side, do I legally have to cover it?

I was born with a third nipple. Its on my right side about 3 inches under my breast. I want to wear a bikini when I go to the beach in Florida next month. Do I have to cover it up? Will I get arrested if I don't?

Can you freeze off a third nipple with wart remover or liquid nitrogen?

You likely can't treat it that way were it a nipple, but good news, a nipple is not something you suddenly acquire--you must be born with it, so you must have likely developed a discoloration of some other kind. If is a sudden appearance of a mole, then that needs to be seen by a doctor to rule out cancer. If you are serious, and only you know, call a doctor and make an appointment. If it is irregular and asymmetrical, it needs possible biopsy. Skin cancer can cause death, too so don't underestimate this. If a doctor says it is a wart, it is easily removed. A new mole though, is not good news. But you can know that in no way is it a nipple, simply due to the fact of a sudden appearance. Since your life if worth more thatn a brothel, rise above it and be careful to place yourself in a more preventative position. The marking could be from a contagious exposure too, who knows. Go to a doctor immediately, there are no small things.
