How Do You Write An Oc Fan Fiction Story

How do I write a good fanfiction story?

First, you have to have love in your heart when you write fanfic. Fanfic is for yourself first, so you must love your own story. Don't write for popularity, hits, reviews, kudos, comments, or status in the fandom. Write your story to connect to other fans who feel as you do about the canon. Writing a fanfic without love is pointless. You can write fics that aren't romance and still have them come from the love you have for the character or world. If you're new to fanfic, I recommend starting with a short work, such as a "one shot" short story of about 2,000 words. If it is shorter than that it might not be good. My first shared online fanfic is short, but it got me a mention on tvtropes.org ten years later.Second, slow down. Hot-off-the-presses prose will always have errors, because when we are excited, we make errors. I recommend waiting at least 1 day after you finish a one-shot or chapter. Then read it aloud to yourself. Read it on another device or from a printed copy, or at least change your font and line spacing. If you have a beta reader, great! But be your own copyeditor first.Spelling and grammar do matter. Think of your story as your main character going out on a date. The character wants to look great. Writers have to remember that what's in our heads is not always on the page. Don't rush your story, or you'll miss out on all the really good parts.Third, try to write the whole story before you share it. This isn't the most important thing, but good fanfic often has this trait. If you can't write your whole multi-chapter fic before sharing, at least plot the whole thing out so you know your ending. And lastly, always try to improve. Don't be afraid to rewrite whole chapters if you become a better writer as the story goes on. Your first chapters are your first impression. Now, if you want to know how to write a fanfic that is popular, that's a different question, but it starts from this answer.~butterflydreaming

How do i write stories on Fanfiction.net?

First of all, you must have had your account for a few days so it knows that it isn't a SPAM account. Then, you srite up your story in Microsoft Word. Every document is a chapter. So if you have 12 chapters in your story you should have each in 12 different documents. Next, you go to Fanfiction.net and get your account up. On the sidebar you should see a option that says 'Documents.' From there just download the documents from your computer. The go to stories and put up the chapters in the desired order.

How to write a good fanfiction?

I just wanted some tips.

I have been writing fanfictions for a couple years now but I want them to get more noticed. The most reviews I have gotten was I think 30 and I ended up deleting it because I didn't like how it turned out.

What are some good tips to make some want to read it?

I am going to have my own characters in it (OC) but what are some good tips to make them stand out and make people love them?

Naruto Fanfiction OC?

So I thought of a plotline for my Naruto story. In the fight with Mizuki Naruto takes damage. His chakra coils have more or less turned inward, unable to release chakra (a bit like Lee). So he has to figure out a different way to become a ninja. I'm planning on having him more or less old school ninja (you know the ones that kill before you even know what's happening. Zabuza was supposed to be one but he talked to much)

Well there's no canon characters to help him develop his skills so I was planning to introduce an OC (just to be his mentor for a bit, not love interest or something like that) and I'm wondering if people would even read it if there's an OC. I know I hate them but that's because they're mostly there for Mary Sueing and romance.

So what do you guys think?

Tips on writing good fanfiction?

I'm not new to writing fanfiction, per se, but I've recently become a little paranoid about the quality of my work (first of all, is this normal? o.O) I'm 15 and have been writing for about a year and a half.

I'm currently working on a multi-chapter fic where an OC falls for a major-ish ex-villain in the established world with dire concequences. I'm writing it from the OC's point of view as I think it will give a more personal-type of a story, but am struggling to keep the narrative flowing well and also trying not to make the OC sound like I myself am writing it (if that makes sense?). This is because I usually write in the third person, so I guess I'm not used to it.

I was wondering if anyone knows any tips to improving a fic or writing a good fic in general :) If not, perhaps you could tell me a really good fic you read recently and what was good about it?

Thank you :D x

Do readers actually like OC fanfiction stories?

I'll be honest in that I pretty much avoid any story that has an OC as the main. This is mostly because I tend to read romance fics and the OC is generally romantically involved with a character who I believe should be with someone else from the anime/manga. Also, due to the fact that an overwhelming amount of OCs are of the Mary-Sue type like you described, I have a tendency to avoid them.

I do agree, though, that it is possible to have an OC who is not a Mary-Sue. Unfortunately, this is rather rare, and even more rare is finding an OC who is not romantically involved with a canon character. To answer the second part of your second question, my friend and I were once writing a fanfiction that with OCs as the main characters, but as a rule that we outright stated, they were not going to become romantically involved with any canon characters. Also, the plot of the story was that they went around to anime/manga/game worlds to kill all the Mary-Sues that would upset the balance of canon romances. (We have a very strong hate for anything Mary-Sue-esque).

Due to my aversion from them, I unfortunately don't have any stories to really recommend. But I wish you much luck! I hope you're able to find some that aren't terrible.

Personalized Stories On FanFiction?

I few years ago I used to go onto a site called Quizilla. This is where I would read up on Fanfics, at the time I had no idea FanFiction even existed. But, my question is, are there writers that will write OC stories for other users? On Quizilla, the writer would submit an application for us, and we would fill it out; After it was filled out, we would submit it, and if the writer approved (usually meaning NO mary-sues, followed the template for the application, etc) the writer would then write up a story for the user, whether it be Harry Potter story with a love interest, or an anime fiction with the subscribers OC. I've included a basic idea of what I'm talking about. The link is to the Quizilla site, and gives an idea of how the format looks / works. Thanks for your time :) http://quizilla.teennick.com/stories/16513345/naruto-personalized-story-party-style[1]

And if Fanfiction does include things like this, where might I find it? If not, are there any other sites like this besides Quizilla?

Rules for OC in fanfiction?

Do NOT make them better than the characters. Do NOT make them super-sparkly perfect. Make sure they have flaws, and make sure they don't overshadow anyone.
If you give them back stories, do NOT tie them in with another character. They are not the cousin, brother, sister, or childhood friend of any canon character, and make sure it stays that way.
If a canon character specializes in something, they are in no way shape or form better than that character. They do not beat that character, and they can compete with that character, but they can never ever win.
Try not to compliment them too often, but don't point out their flaws too much either.
Long story short, DO NOT GLORIFY YOUR CHARACTER. They are not a special snowflake. They are made of the same genetic material as the rest of us.
