How Does One Get Kool Aid Out Of Your Hair . Friend Did This And Now She Says Its A Sticky Mess

How can i make the Kool-Aid stay on my hair for a long time?

You boil about 5 to 10 table spoons of water with every packet of sugar free kool aid and let the mixture cool down after it has boiled. Put on a pair of gloves and start wiping the kool aid on your hair. Wrap your hair in foil after applying the kool air. Let it sit in your hair for at least 6 hours. And after you are done remove the foil and blow dry your damp hair. If you have a flat iron, also known as straightener, use it. The flat iron will help seal in the color and make to last longer. If you aren't satisfied with the results you can make the color deeper by applying another layer of the left over kool aid. I really recommend washing your hair before you do this because you are not allowed to wash your hair for the minimum of 12 hours. Another tip is to use sugar FREE kool aid or else its going to be a sticky mess.

How do I dye my hair with Kool-aid?

What color is your hair? If it's light, this is easy as pie. If it's dark then you might need to bleach it first. It all depends on your hair color and what color you're trying for.

1. Boil water in a pot. PARENTAL SUPERVISION STRONGLY ADVISED!! Usually, the standard mix of making Kool Aid for drinking works (about a quart, use your own judgement, stronger color=less water).
2. Turn off the stove to let the water cool for a minute.
3. Add 1 packet (short hair) to 3 packets (super long and/or thick hair) of the Kool Aid color of choice into nearly boiling water so it dissolves.
4. For color that lasts longer, you can add a spoonful of white vinegar (the cooking variety) to the mix, but this is entirely optional.

STREAKS: Take the pot of water outside (it's SUPER staining, dont get it on ANY furniture!), then add it to the streak areas you'd like to be colored. If you've let the mix cool to shower temperature, then go ahead and dip those streak areas into the pot of water. Or you can use something like a wide paintbrush, but honestly the dipping method works best. Wrap color bits with saran wrap for as long as necessary (1 hour to overnight, again it's all about how strong you want the color to be, longer means stronger/vibrant color).

ALL OVER COLOR:
Dip your head into the pot of warm/slightly hot (NOT NOT NOT boiling, do I even have to say why?!) water. A friend would be great help at this point to help you get it all even. Again, doing this outside is a much better idea than inside. It will stain the tub and your clothing. Remember that! Cover with saran wrap. Tin Foil also works, whichever you have around is fine, but Tin Foil is loud and annoying, so Saran Wrap works for me.

5. Leave mix in your hair (which is now COVERED with Saran/Foil) for anywhere from an hour (blonde/light color) to overnight (dark hair).
6. Rinse, Shampoo, and condition as normal.

Remember this: The more you wash your hair, the quicker ANY dye comes out. Lighter hair ALWAYS means less color packets/less time to sit in your hair. And lastly, if your hair is really dark, bleach it first. Check the link below.

Good luck! Experiment, it's all fun and it's all temporary (well unless you go totally crazy, but be reasonable)

How to dye hair with kool-aid?

Yes, coloring your hair with koolaid does work. I just did this myself yesterday. I have really dark brown hair, and so does my friend, and I was able to color our hair a bold red without bleaching our hair first. All I did was pour a packet of koolaid into a cup and added not even a teaspoon of water. We only did bangs and streaks at the time. I read online after I did our hair that you can use conditioner an djust leave it in there..but i used water and it was fine. I then straightened our hair instead of using the blow dryer and it turned out great. Not fried..not messed up..just red! I don't know how long the color lasts, I just did this yesterday and plan to add more streaks ((I really like the results)). I'm just telling you my success from using koolaid and how easy and cheap it was compared to going out and spending money. I hope this helps you. And there are a number of sites that can tell you how to do this..just search on google for..how to dye your hair with koolaid. :)

How do you dye a synthetic wig can it be done with kool aid?

The dye in unsweetened Kool-Aid will probably work if you like green, purple, orange, red or some other fruity color.

Which works better when dyeing your hair with kool-aid?

To boil the kool-aid then dip you hair in?
Or to creat a paste useing conditionair/corn starch?

And if you have dont it before, could you explain how it come out and such?

Kool-aid hair dye......?

The answer is that one envelope won't work. You have to buy like 6 or 8 envelopes to use. Shades of red are strong, and last longer, but will fade to a pink. I don't remember mixing it with anything but HOT water (boil then cool a bit), just use a bottle to continiously apply it, and use a comb to get the color even. The longer you leave it in, the longer it will last. (At least 2-3 hours). Lighter hair it will show up better. Shampoo strips color out, conditioner protects it. If you are washing your hair, mix both together in your hands first.

I am thinking maybe developer will work, which you can get at Sally's for a couple bucks (use 40 or 50 volume to make the color last longer, and don't get the clear stuff, it is crap). double check with the girl at sally's. and get a hair color mixing bottle while you are there for $2, whichever method you go with it will make it easier to do. I am going to try this now LOL I'll let you know.

For short/medium length hair I would mix 6 packs of Kool-Aid to 1 to 1 1/2 oz developer. And for longer hair I would mix 8 packs into 2 to 2 1/2 oz developer.

P.S. Kool-Aid does not last as long as manic panic, you have to keep touching up the color with 1-2 packs like every week or so.

Dying your hair with Kool-aid?

You can not dye your hair with Kool-aid. It will only stain it temporally. I could barely tell I had any in my hair when it was dark brown. However once you rinse it out you lose the strong color. You could use a hair gel and mix with that and put it on, but IT WILL run and stain clothes and pillow cases.

I eventually had to bleach my hair "professional hair bleach, not household bleach" and tone the oranges down with 001 Platinum Blue and hair bluing, which can be found in any beauty supply. Also, Kool-aid will run and stain clothes and pillow cases. ***Hair bleaching can cause damage to your hair an scalp if you over do it*** But, never had my hair fall out.

However, I did have success with black cherry and blue raspberry on platinum white hair. But again it will faded out the first time I washed it.

There are some temporally hair color, maybe that would be the way to go.
