How Has The Role Of States Changed Over Time Do You Think That States Are Still Useful

Is change important in life?

Change is inevitable in life. It is a part of our life. Changes may either be positive or negative. When we are tired of doing something we welcome a new change. When we are upset we wait for a change of phase, we await happiness. But sometimes, when we are happy we fear the change which may cause disappointments. Its the way of life: whether we like it or not a change is bound to happen. Changes keep away boredom from life. It makes this journey interesting and adventurous. There was a popular TV show, “Oswald” (the blue octopus) on the POGO channel which I used to watch as a kid. There was one particular episode, “I guess you never know”. In this episode, Henry, Oswald’s friend never likes change and does everything by the routine. But Oswald explores new changes and everything turns out to be fun and exciting. In the end Henry accepts that a change is necessary in life. A link to that episode :According to my personal experience, a year ago, I was a pampered college girl, who knew nothing about the world or the people outside. I have always been cared and protected by my parents. I have never went out alone, my father had always been there to take me out for whatever the reason may be. Now, I am living miles away from my home, working and learning to lead a new life. I am becoming more independent. I am trying to master the art of money management, learning to adapt a new environment and adjust with people. I have met so many new people, some people have left my life for good. So yeah, this change was necessary and has given me and will continue to teach new experiences. Though it was painful in the beginning, it is getting better with every passing day. There goes a saying,“Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change…”You never know what is awaiting, so embrace the changes and discover new possibilities.

Does the electoral college serve any useful purpose?

It makes candidates pay attention to the smaller and less populated states. That was its original intent and it still works today.

Teens: How would you improve Sex Ed in schools?

Hey, guys!

Teenage pregnancy rates are going through the roof at a whopping 7% of all girls ages 15-19. In my state, graciously recently crowned the state with the most teenage pregnancies, we're up to 10%. That's a gigantic number! The rates of young people contracting STDs is going up significantly as well.

There could be several reasons for this increase. But Sexual Education in schools all around the country is obviously not having too much of an impact. Recently, the trend has been a sort of "all in" kind of Sex Ed that focuses strictly on protection and family planning. There aren't enough statistics to suggest it's working, but if the recent increases are any indication, it's not.

So my question is this: How would you improve Sexual Education in schools across the country? Are we too cavalier about the subject? Not casual enough? Are we taking an impractical approach? Let me know!

Thanks, loves!

Why does the United States use the Fahrenheit scale to measure temperature?

The US still hasn't adopted the metric system, of which the Celsius scale is a part. It's one of the handful of countries to have not done so. Blame lies on the US Congress. When the move to the metric system was proposed as part of a bill in 1975, it was made VOLUNTARY instead of mandatory. People obviously rebelled against having to change (horrified by the thought of kilometres instead of miles, kilograms instead of ounces), hardly anyone adopted the metric system, and the bill was scrapped.

How do I find out what the "useful life" of a carpet is under Washington State landlord tenant law?

Most experts agree that the "useful life" of carpeting is 10 years. The IRS lets the landlord depreciate carpeting over a 5 year period.

Having lived in the property for 20 years you don't have anything to worry about.

To note, the useful life of interior paint is consider 2-3 years.

Is the United States Postal Service a good example of Government efficiency? Postal Reform required?

Under pressure, the postal service had to yeild their "overnight service", and promptly lost all advantage to UPS, Fedex, DHL, etc.

But they still hold on to regular mail, don't do it well, and lose money year after year.

The postal service is a great example of Government "efficiency". Add in Fannie and Freddie that were behind the housing crisis, the Mining Service that missed the BP blowout, the Army Corps of Engineers that built the dikes in New Orleans, the teachers union that now has us ranked 25th in the industrial world for knowledge, and so on. A big waste of money.
