How Long Does A Job Seekers Allowence Rapid Reclaim Take

Can I be an au pair and claim job seekers allowance?

I was born in the UK then moved to Spain when I was 12, now I'm 19 and I have moved back to the UK as an au pair. I work 25 hours a week and earn 60 pound, as I have a lot of free time I would like another part time job to pay for my college course which I have to pay for as I wasn't entitled to any funding as my GCSE results were too good which I think is really unfair that people who did badly in school or claiming dole get to do it for free. So I wanted to know if I could claim job seekers allowance while I look for an extra job, im not even fussed what job is it just as long as I get some money out of it.

Centrelink payment - job seeker?

I just lost my job last week for working too hard, appeared too busy in the shop (boss said). I've been looking and applying jobs for the past 4 days, no response yet and I am worry... My friend suggests me to apply Centrelink payment as I'm Australian Citizen and I should enjoy this benefit.

If I apply(job seeker one I think...) , what will happen next? When will centrelink contact me and what will they ask? How much will they give me weekly? My rent like 220$ :( and when will they stop giving? Will they help me find a job?

I'm now 26 *

Personality tests and applying for jobs?

Has anyone had to take a lengthy personality test to apply for a job? I feel like this is discrimination and if you actually respond honestly like maybe you on your own time prefer to handle tasks alone instead of team-work, they hold it against you.

Anyone else have experience with this or wish to express their opinion??

I don't want to be pre-judged by these tests but they will not accept my application until I've applied online and completed their personality test.

As a job seeker, is it worth applying for jobs where they ask me to do some code in my own time, as opposed to conventional interviews?

Not if it’s more than an hour or so.I had a company ask me to write up a sample marketing plan for a product they were going to launch once. I told them they can look at some of my past work. They can ask me how I would go about doing it. But the 5+ hours to write something like that was out of the scope of an interview. But another one asked me for a financial analysis of some sales data during the interview. I put together some pivot tables and filters in 10 minutes and gave them an analysis.Worst case scenario, ask them to send you a project proposal, and you’ll work on it for $150 an hour. They can use that consulting example as an excuse to hire you or not.

Why is it taking so long for me to receive my pell grant from financial aid?

If your file has not been reviewed and you were selected for verification, you probably have not yet been awarded. Financial aid staffs are relatively small in comparison to the number of applications they receive and this year they have been innundated with applications due to the economy. Applying in June is considered quite late in the process, and, unfortunately, late applicants are not often awarded as promptly as they'd like. Compound this will other priorities these offices have--checking enrollments, Satisfactory Academic Progress, summer enrollment awards, issuing book vouchers for those schools that allow them--and a staff of 8 with 7,000 applications can be overwhelmed. Find out if your school will allow you to start if your file is complete with financial aid, but understand that many schools are rapidly running out of discretionary funds to award, so along with your Pell Grant, be prepared for the distinct possibility of a student loan necessary to cover your charges.

A word of advice, for 2010-11 apply a lot earlier, encourage your parents, if their information is needed, to make their tax appointments with their preparer in early February (preparing taxes then doesn't mean they have to file them then) and file the FAFSA for that year as soon as the taxes are prepared.

How can I get a job seeker visa to work in Germany?

The following link provides information about the 6 month job-seeker visa for Germany, and the requirements for the same:Germany Job Seeker Visa - Information and RequirementsWho is eligible to apply?Bachelor or Master graduates from a German university or an equivalent foreign degree. If you hold a foreign degree, you need to check whether your degree is valid in Germany. For more information about degree validity, refer to my answer: Jana Stalevska's answer to How do I check if my foreign degree is valid in Germany?Graduates who have a minimum of 5 years of work experience in their field of study. In other answers to this question I see other time periods as well, e.g. 6 months, 2–3 years. As I cannot know for certain if the source of those quotes is official or not, it is best to contact a German embassy to ask about this. This is an extremely important point so you need to have up-to-date information. Those with sufficient funds to finance their stay in Germany during the 6-month period. Normally, they expect you to have around 700 euros per month (enough to cover your basic needs). If you have a sponsor (a friend or relative living in Germany who is willing to provide a document stating they will take care of you financially) then that would boost your chances considerably. Those with travel or medical insurance to cover the entire stay in Germany, or until obtaining a Job Visa. You can’t live in Germany without medical insurance. Period. If you tick all these boxes, then you can start with collecting your documents. I won’t list all those here, the link I’ve provided tells you all you need to know.I would stress one of the requirements though which is very important, namely, the Cover Letter. In this letter, you would talk about your motivations behind your move to Germany, your plans for the future, and, most importantly, a concrete plan of how you intend to go about finding a job. And THAT is another topic entirely (Jana Stalevska's answer to Is it possible to get a job in Germany from India after getting a job seeker visa?).For more information about the German Job-Seeker Visa, check out this video:For those interested in knowing how to make a German CV, you can check out this video :I doubt writing a CV for the embassy would be very different than writing a CV for a company. Either way, I think it’s a good idea to get the CV and Cover Letter checked by someone with experience (especially experience with job search visa applicants).Good luck!

How long should I wait before calling Burger King about my application?

I went in, asked if they were hiring, and they told me they were just looking at applications. So I filled one out in the restaurant while my friend ate, and one of the employees took it and put it in a little box on the manager's office door.
It didn't look like there were other applications.
I was just wondering how long I should wait to call.
I applied either monday or tuesday...
and it was asking for my ssn(social security number) on the application, but I didn't have it with me and my father says not to put it on the apps regardless. Does it matter if I did or didn't?

My friend is telling me it was bad I didn't put it on there. And since I have no previous experience they probably won't hire me. -_-

No calls back after applying for jobs?

I've been applying for jobs for 3 month now and have yet to get 1 interview. I have a university degree, I'm not incompetent. I'm about ready to apply for mcdonalds because it's better than nothing. What could be the problem, lack of related job experience? Bad cover letters?

On universal credit is applying for ESA worth it?

Hi I'm on universal credit at the minute, my work coach pushing for me to go on ESA due to mental health, I have a assessment appointment for a week Saturday.
But I don't care about being esa I'm more freaked out about having to leave my flat, and from reading online it will be the same money I'm already on.
So my question is, is there any point? I'll never get job even full on trying I'm too mental ill.
I have heard horror story's about the assessment and I just don't know if it's wroth all the bother just for the same amount money there is no benefit that I can see from it.
