How long does it take to recover from wisdom teeth?

Hi! I'm a dental assistant and I actually had my two bottom wisdom teeth extracted about a year ago. I was out shopping the same day..even though i wasn't supposed to! It depends how well you take pain. Just eat soft foods like cottage cheese, yogurt, ice cream, apple sauce..nothing that will get stuck down in the sockets. Good luck! By the way, i went back to work 3 days after. I got mine done on a friday and went back on monday.

How long does it take to pull out 5 adult teeth, and how long does it take for them to heal if they are pulled out in one dental visit?

I have pulled out many teeth. Sometimes I do 20 teeth in 2 or 3 minutes. Sometimes I do 1 tooth in 30 minutes. So the answer is, it depends.Healing time is a week or so for initial healing and 6 - 12 months for the bone to heal and finish recontouring and maturing.

How long does it take bruised gums to heal?

WARM SALT WATER:  Into a 1/2 cup of warm water add 1 teaspoon of salt.  Stir until dissolved completely.  Take in a mouthful of this solution and hold it in the area that is sore and bruised.  It will feel soothed.  Hold each mouthful for about 1/2 minute and then spit out.  Repeat this until all the solution has been used up.  You can repeat this process every hour until you have no more sensitivity and soreness.  You should feel some relief immediately.  Gums should be healed using this method within 1 to 2 days.  I did this when I had oral surgery and it reversed swelling and soreness immediately with complete healing in 2 days.Eat pureed soups, yoghurt and smoothies only.  I hope you feel better soon.

How long does it take for inflamed gums to heal?

I went to the dentist today and found out I had a little chip of a baby tooth stuck between my gums and tooth, so they had to numb it and take it out.
But now there's a little gap between my gums and tooth where the chip had been, and the gums are all inflamed.
I feel weird eating and brushing my teeth know there's a gap... : ( how long will it take to heal?

How long does it take a displaced tooth to heal?

If you are talking about a tooth that has been partially displaced from its socket and has been repositioned, and splinted then the following schedule is followed:Recall exam in 1 week after splinting.Depending on the type of displacement, the splinting is to be removed in 2 to 4 weeks and the tooth examined clinically and radiographically to check for healing and that it is still vitalIn 6 to 8 weeks post-trauma (2 to 4 weeks after splinting is removed) another exam to assess healing. After this point, if the tooth is vital there is no or minimal mobility, the displaced tooth is considered healed.Even though the tooth is deemed to be healed, it still can become non-vital over time and it should be followed up to monitor colour changes (becomes black) or radiographic changes.Another exam is to be done at 6 months post-displacement.Then at the 1-year anniversary of the displacement, then annually after that.

How long does it take for a loose tooth to tighten?

If it was knocked out of the groove, and was hangin' by the nerve, but placed back - then it will be back to normal in about 4-5months if your b very careful with it, and don't eat anything harder then a twinkie, add 1 month if you eat tender steak, 2 more months added if you eat nuts or hard candies.

if it was simply knocked a lil, it can tighten in as little as 3 months, as the tissue in the mouth heals fast. So really, it will heal, it will tighten, but to help the process be very careful with it.

How long does it take for a tooth to become abscessed?

What's your baseline? From when the tooth emerges as a healthy unit in your mouth?Teeth don't become abscessed unless they are decayed and go untreated. A cavity that's allowed to fester, deepen, and never be filled will become abscessed but that all depends on your general health, oral hygiene, other habits, and many other factors. There's no way to pinpoint an accurate time frame. However, having had one, it's not something to look forward to, nor to experiment with trying to achieve. It will always result in either a root canal, or worse, an extraction.
