How long does it take to grow layers out?

I have dark black hair, and I dyed it so, of course, I had to bleach it. But then I missed my old black hair. My hair was up to my stomach and the dye was from my mouth area and down. I thought the easiest way was to cut my hair to where the dye started, but that's too short. So I decided that I'll cut my hair past my shoulders. I went to the hair salon, and while the hair dresser was cutting my hair, they asked if I wanted layers. I didn't really know if layers looked good on me or not, so I decided why not. But then they cut my bangs way too short, and my layers look really messy and look really horrible on me. I was reading some articles where this happened to some people, and yet they never say when their layers will grow out. All I want to know is how long does it take for layers and side bangs to grow out? My side bangs are so short that i can't tuck them behind my ear. And my shortest layer is an inch past my chin. I'm afraid I'll have to cut down to my chin and that my hair will grow an inch during the summer, and I'll go back to school looking creepy since I had really long hair. HELP!!!!!

How long does it take to grow out layers?

It depends how long your hair grows

When the layers grow longer it looks amazing

I have had mine for a year now and they are almost grown out :D

How long does it take to grow long hair?

Depends on what kind of hair we're talking about. You'll have stubble in a day or two. Head hair will take a month or so to grow back out to a short length, and most likely years to grow out long. For body hair, it'll be undetectable that it was ever shaved in three to four weeks.Hair Usually grows approximately 6 inches a year, so in a week, it would be about an 8th of an inch, a half inch in a month and 6 inches in a year. Other variables would also be that hair grows more in the summer than the winter in the colder regions.A few things that you can do to ensure that your hair follicle remains healthy and your hair is undamaged so it grows the quickest it can, are:Take an inexpensive daily multi vitamin such as ‘ One-A-Day’ or even ‘Flintstones.’ Your hair likes zinc and biotin and both of the above mentioned vitamins contain ample amounts of these. Don’t waste your hard earned money on ‘Super Vitamins.’ Your body only requires so many vitamins per day and simply discharges the excess. You can’t put twenty gallons in a ten gallon tank. In some instances, over dosing on supplements can actually be fatal.Do not brush your hair. With every stroke you damage your hair more. Brush only as much as you need to style your hair, then stop.Buy a good quality brush or comb without a sharp plastic or metal ridges. This is one of the common factors leading to split ends. as is over brushing.Don’t be penny foolish. Buy good quality salon products. The chemicals used in many if not most over the counter shampoos and conditioners, contain very harsh ingredients such as ‘ammonuim laurel sulfate’ which can actually dry your hair out, and cause breakage and split ends. Even worse, many contain a form of silicon, and that can be very bad for your hair.Don’t consist your hair with tight bands, hats, braids and the like. These also lead to split ends and hair breakage. You can find out more, see this blog.

Growing out really short layers on long hair?

It is always so much better if you had never ruined your lovely childhood hair, but once it's done, you have to take special care and a lot of patience to bring it back again.

I grew out layers which were put in when I was nearly 16, and went through the same thing.

The layers will have to be cut back to the shortest layer before your hair can sit right again.

This can be quite traumatic if you are used to long hair, since your true unspoilt length is only now to your ears. If you cut the layers back in, then you will be back where you started and will still have to go through the awkward in-between sticking out stage if you ever want long hair again.

Also if you keep straightening it, it will never grow back, since each time you are damaging it

So the best thing is to trim 2 inches, or the bottom layer. Then wait for the next layer to grow back to the same place, and then cut that back. After about three years, all the layers should be gone, and then you can start growing your hair out properly.

I was 19 1/2 when I cut the last layer out. I have not cut it since.

How long does it take for choppy layers to grow out ?

Ok so a month ago i got really choppy ugly layers and their getting better but i want my hair to be long and pretty by my grade 8 grad im going into 7th grade soo how long will it take ????

How long does it usually take to grow out side swept bangs?

Hair grows an average of 6 inches a year. Measure from the tip of your bangs with a tape measure, and put the tips on the 0 mark. Pull the tape straight and mark your thumb at 6 inches. This will give you a good idea of where they might be after a year.
Don't avoid trimming--you still need this to maintain your style, and to keep split ends from creeping further up the hair. You can do this yourself by twising a 1inch section of hair or smaller, until hairs pop out all along the twist. It's best to do this against a dark or black background with adequate lighting to see the splits or hairs that are broken. Broken hairs will have a light colored 'dot' that will easily break off if pulled on. Cut above the dot, and always make sure your scissors are sharp, and NOT at an agle to the hair when you snip.

How long do short layers take to grow out?

You can expect 1/2 inch of growth per month.

There's nothing you can apply to your hair, nothing you can eat or drink, no pill to take, that makes your hair grow faster.

Eat healthy and take your multi-vitamin.

Split ends are the enemy of growth. People who claim their hair doesn’t grow usually have so many split ends their hair is breaking off at about the same rate it’s growing. Get a trim once every two or three months. Tell the stylist you’re growing it out and want nothing more than the ends evened out and damaged ends removed.

Don't color, tint, perm, straighten, or bleach your hair. This is important, since even the gentlest products contain chemicals which dry the hair shaft, making it more prone to splitting.

Never use heat to style your hair- not to dry, not to curl, not to straighten.

Condition your hair whenever you shampoo. Use a product which promises moisture renewal or hair health.

Once a week use additional conditioning products which you leave in for several minutes, then rinse out.
