How Long Is My Dad Going To Jail For

My dad's going to jail?

My dad is going to jail the first day I go back to school (Sept. 10)

He hasn't really told us anything, but I know from encrypted emails he sends to his friends (I know all of his passwords to his emails).

Anyway, I've been very depressed lately and I've been crying every night because a lot is going on right now. How do I cope when my dad goes to jail?

He's going to jail for a lot of different white-collar crimes I have a very hard time believing he committed! How will he be treated in prison?

I have no friends who can comfort me because they think my dad will higher some hotshot lawyer and everything will be done with. My brothers don't seem to care about this and my mom is an alcoholic who makes everything seem 100x worse than it really is.

What do I do? At night I listen to these sad songs and I just cry and I get really depressed at night... which no one realizes because I'm supposed to be the "strong" one in my family. A school counselor is out of the option, I went to them because my friend was anorexic and they didn't help whatsoever!

I am going to jail soon, I'm 18 yrs old, what should I do before and while I'm in jail?

This advice comes from my dad who was a Corrections Officer for 25 years. I have never been locked up and have never been in trouble with the law.Don’t accept any “gifts” when you arrive. Sometimes you won’t have everything you need such as shower shoes, soap, a toothbrush, snacks; whatever. Some inmates will try to leave you “gifts” to hold something over you. They’ll say that since they did something for you, it’s time for you to do ANYTHING for them.Continue your education. Give yourself a chance to learn something that can be used to help you when you get out. Go to college, learn a trade, get your GED. That will be a good chance to keep you from reoffending. It could also reduce your time in jail if they see you are doing your best to become a model citizen.Be ready to fight. My dad said that prison is a whole different ballgame. You have to fight to protect your food, because someone might not like your skin color, and more.Nobody is your friend behind bars. You will be in there with con artists, rapists, armed robbers, murderers, addicts, drug dealers, and worse. They will exploit you to get themselves ahead.Keep your mouth shut. Don’t tell anybody anything about what you did, don’t ask what they did, and don’t snitch. Rats don’t last long in prison and they get discovered really quickly.EDIT: STOP COMMENTING ON MY ANSWER AS IF I’M THE ONE GETTING LOCKED UP. I AM NOT GOING TO JAIL. I DID NOT ASK THIS QUESTION. IT’S VERY ANNOYING THAT PEOPLE ARE GIVING ME UNSOLICITED ADVICE THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY LIFE. I DID NOT THINK THAT SO MANY PEOPLE THOUGHT I WAS THE ONE WHO ASKED THIS QUESTION. FFS.

If my dad hit me can he go 2 jail?

my dad has an angermanegment problem and he gets mad easily but we have had our problems lately with my boyfirend and stuff b/c my parents dont like him and told me that i cant see him anymore and stuff and they were going to town 2day and i told him that i wasnt gonna go and he started pulling me and when i got in the car i slammed the door and he punshed me but i didnt bleed or anything but he gets like this alot i want 2 move out and live with my boyfriend but im only 16 is there any way i could do that?

My dad went to jail for hitting my mom how long will be be there?

if he doesn't have or can't get a bond then he stays in jail till his trial after that depends on the judge. Yes you did the right thing. Lots of women don't do anything because they believe the abuser really loves her or he didn't mean to do it. In the end said abuser will most likely end up mameing or killing the abusee. If this is the first time he hit her then you let him know he can't get away with that behaviour.

Can my dad go to jail for hitting a child?

I personally don't condone hitting a child but I'm pretty sure depends on the situation. For I think it was last year; it was on the news where a father walked in on a 14 year old boy (boy was a babysitter I think) molesting his son and he beat the crap out of him and he also said so on TV that he beat the crap out of him and no charges were filed against him . If you were to leave more information on why he hit the child that could be useful.

Dad is getting out of jail - idk what to do?

1.
The most important piece of advice I have for you is--whatever you decide to do (whether you see your dad or not), don't feel guilty about it. And don't feel like you need to make a fast decision. If you need time to think about whether or not you want to see him, take time.

In other words, don't let anyone pressure you. It is totally understandable that no one else in the family wants to see your dad. But it is also understandable that you do want to see him... You know that he did something horrible, but you feel a connection because of biology. Everyone's relationship with your dad is their own business, so everyone should do what they feel comfortable with.

You obviously respect and love your mother and your sisters. So don't feel like you're insulting them if you see your dad. I repeat: you are allowed to have your own relationship with him. Don't meet with him at home though, because that might upset your mother and sisters. If you do want to meet, do so outside the home.

2.
The other piece of advice I have is that you can see your dad even if you don't want a close relationship with him. If you're curious, make an appointment with him. It doesn't mean that you have to be best buddies after that. You can take things very slowly.

My dad is a jerk and I choose not to see him because I feel stressed and unhappy when I'm around him. But I ask for news about him from other family members because I'm curious. That is how we are wired. Don't feel guilty. Good luck.

What should I say to my dad in jail?

I love you. They can never hear it enough. Let him know you support him. Really anything. Life behind bars is so boring. He wants to hear every detail about everything. Doesn't matter. He is not talking to another criminal. These conversations are precious. He doesn't care . Hearing your loved one read from a phone book is better than anything he was doing.

My dad might go to jail what are the important things for him to switch into my name?

Nothing. There could be legal consequences of doing so, including gift taxes and accusations of trying to hide assets if he does. However adding your name to a bank account of his could allow you to pay bills on his behalf, and if you’re of legal age, he might consider giving you temporary power of attorney to more widely act in his behalf. How to prepare financially for time in prison

If my dad kills my mom and he is going to jail, what will happen to me?

If you are in an abusive situation, call Childhelp at 1–800–422–4453. A counselor will talk to you. If your mom is being hurt, call 911. You would be with a relative if they are willing and fit to take you or you could be placed in foster care. Tell a trusted adult what is going on and ask for help. Right away.
