How Long Must I Wait To Size Up The Tapers In My Ears

How long should a wait to size up my gauged ears after a blowout?

dear lord, you are stretching extremely fast. this kind of stretching takes time your body needs to heal and build up scar tissue. you know you're ready to stretch again when the taper goes through without any pain. If you're using tapers and that isn't working you could try taping them.

just make sure you're taking your time and stretching properly. By getting blow outs you're causing your body more pain. By doing so your body has to use more time to heal and in the long run it takes longer this way.happy stretching!

How long can I wear ear tapers for?

Apparently your meant to wait about a month, but I have a stretched ear and know lots of people who have stretches as well and i never waited as long as a month between each size up and my ear's fine.

just make sure you look after it properly and dont try and force the taper in or you might split your ear (happened to a guy i know)
vaseline helps.

dont try and size up if your ear still hurts either.
oh, and take a bath or something before stretching them, apparently it relaxes your ear so it hurts less.(or something like that)

hope it helps

How long can I wear tapers in my ears?

Tapers aren't meant to be worn; they're simply a tool to stretch. You slide the taper through and then immediately follow it with jewelry. Given the uneven weight distribution of tapers, wearing them for any extended period of time can cause your ears to heal unevenly. It can also cause massive irritation, as tapers are way more likely to get knocked around and caught on things than plugs are.

Double-flared plugs are not meant for fresh stretches. Flares are typically one gauge up from the wearable area, sometimes even more, so shoving a DF plug into your newly stretched ear is essentially stretching your ear two sizes at once. You need single- or no-flare plugs at first. Once your ears are completely healed and well established (we're talking months here), and given that they're naturally stretchy enough, then you can think about wearing DF jewelry.

What you should do is forget about the DF plugs for now and go buy some single- or no-flare plugs instead. Don't stretch until you have both the tapers and plugs ready. I know it's always exciting going up a size but waiting an extra week or two so that you're properly prepared may ensure you'll have a successful stretch rather than blowing out or tearing up your ears. You need to be especially careful with the jump from 2g to 0g, as it's bigger than normal. You may want to look into 1g tapers/jewelry.

How long should I wait to switch from tapers to plugs for my gauged ears?

Getting double flared eyelets in is difficult and usually requires you to stretch slightly larger than the size of the eyelet to get them in the first place and allowing your ear to shrink back around the jewellery. The easiest way to stretch this includes to any size rather than just to get flared eyelets in is to buy some latex tape often marketed as "bondage tape" from sex shops or Ann Summers those kind of places. It has no sticky and sticks to itself and is really good for wrapping around the taper or plug gradually and will stretch it slightly larger each time, this method also limits scar tissue so if you chose to downsize it should go much easier. Hope this helps.

How long would it take to stretch my ears to size 0?

Depends on your ears. If you have healed regular piercings you can start @ a 14g now. If not, wait 2 months to begin @ 14g.

I started in Feb., by June I was 00g. I did not skip sizes. I had no tears, blow outs, or bleeding. I did have swelling twice. Once going into 6g (I had waited 3wks) and going into 0g (I had waited 5 wks). In the small sizes I waited 1-2 wks between stretching again. I have very elastic ears. I am at my goal size of 00g for primary lobe piercing, secondary is @ 6g also goal size.

When going from 2 to 0 wait at least 1 month, no other size change requires that amount of time, 3 wks 8g and bigger. For smaller 1-2 wks.

Do not remove the gauges to clean, clean with plain dial soap. Do not use alcohol on your ears!!! I didn't notice an increase in sebum production until 6g. Now in 00g I do remove and clean w/ mild dial soap every night. Stretch w/ stainless steel. Organic materials produce less sebum, but are more expensive so don't get til in goal size. Also don't use any saddles or double flares until 4 wks healed.

I used tapers, then pinchers to stretch. I did it after a shower, and used jojoba oil to moisturize. I occasionally did salt soaks for the lobes.

How long should i wait to stretch/gauge my ears if i go and get my ears pierced just now?

As already posted, you can simply be pierced at a larger gauge to begin with to save time. This method does not remove tissue, it just makes a larger incision. Usually you can be pierced up to a 6g. If you wanted to go even larger you could find a piercer who is experienced with scalpelling. This is making an even larger incision in the earlobe to allow for larger jewelry. If you're SURE you want stretched ears and that you won't be taking them extraordinarily large, you could even have them punched out with a dermal punch. To know the options available in your area, talk with reputable piercers. They should be glad to walk you through suggestions and options.

You will need to give your new piercings at least a few months to completely heal before you begin stretching. After that, stretching is a gradual process that should be done SLOWLY. Usually a month between stretches is the absolute minimum recommended.

How long should i wait before stretching my ears again?

wait at least 3-4 weeks to gauge your ears. your will be able to to do it before that but all it does is create scare tissue in your ear. If you keep stretching fast all your going to do is blow out your ears and make it harder and harder to go from size to size. Also by stretching to fast you will limit yourself on how big you can go. You do not want to blow out your ears, it makes your gauges look really bad and noticeably gross and have a stronger oder than normally will.

be careful with your body, for two reason. if you are committing to the lifestyle of having gauges you want to go slow so they really do look good and you can take pride in your gauges because they took your a long time and effort. 2nd your ears will not go back to a normal ear piercing size if you go larger than an 8g. You will need surgery to fix your ears if you get blow outs or to much scar tissue or later in life if your decide you dont want large gauges anymore.

How long should I wait to stretch my ears?

Even at small sizes a month is the minimum if you want to do it safely and have pretty ears. Even a tiny stretch needs a couple weeks to heal, and a couple weeks to loosen and readjust to the new size. You need to increase the time as you go larger. A good way to tell is to wait until you can see air between your skin and jewelry when you gently tug down on it. The longer you wait, the easier the stretch, the stronger your ears, and the less risk of tears and scar tissue.

How long should I wait to change my earrings after stretching my ears?

Wait until it's no longer sore, there are no crusties to clean off the jewelry daily, and you can easily turn and slide the jewelry.

I'd say that's a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks. Preferably 8 to 10 to be safe. If you don't notice any of the things above, then at least wait the 4 to 6 weeks and stretch carefully.

Now that you are getting into larger sizes, don't skip sizes when you stretch. It's not worth risking the damage. If you "blow out" and end up with scar tissue, you'll be unable to get the results you want and it could be permanently disfiguring.

How long do you leave your tapers in when stretching your ears?

DO NOT USE VASELINE WHEN STRETCHING YOUR EARS!!!!! JEFFERY IS SOOOO WRONG ABOUT THAT!!!! Use only the appropriate products specially meant for body modification purposes/ stretching lobes. Vaseline is a very bad thing to use for lubrication purposes (ladies out there know what i'm talking bout) it is a breeding ground for bacteria and your body can easily develop an allergy to product (same with neosporin)
I am stretching my ears again and while i used nothing (no lubes, no after care like jojoba oil) i am going to try HOLD FAST ear stretching balm and see how i like it. oh and don't get me wrong just because i didn't use lubes and after care lotions/ointments i am a huge neat freak so i was soaking my piercing every day with the sea salt warm water solution. Not only cheap and easy to make but its also soothing! and a big thing that helped me when stretching last time is taking a nice hot shower and doing it within the hour after you get out. That seemed like common sense to me at the time cause wouldn't you wanna proceed with your body/ears being clean to begin with? the ears being primed by the shower (helps the circulation and seems to make the skin on the body/ear more "stretchy") was just a convenient side effect.
Good luck and two main important tips i have are:
1) TAKE YOUR TIME! don't rush your body. (or it will make u pay! ***insert evil laugh here***)
2) Keep yourself and your piercing clean! keep your jewelry clean, keep your hands clean, stay out of hot tubs and swimming pools while your healing (you wouldn't go into a tub/pool with an open sore/wound would you? well i hope not!) oh and sorry ppl NO BUBBLE BATHS also...just don't risk it k?
