How Long Will My New Navel Piercing Be Sore

How long will a navel piercing hurt?

No way... 2 months pftt.

Navel piercings are really easy piercings healing wise. I have had mine pierced 3 times in a span of 5 years. Takes a few weeks your first time mostly just getting used to it. You'll be fine soon. Don't use hydrogen peroxide. clean it w/ antibacterial soap and the salt water solution that piercing shops sell.. it sometimes gets a little peely..(dry) which may ich. but it will be fine. Even if it puses a little (green ooze) its fine... it means its healing and rejecting bacteria dont touch it.. swipe the ooze with a q tip also any crust swipe it off because it can get inside ur navel and damage scar tissue. Good Luck.

How long will my belly stay sore after a piercing?

You will likely be sore for about two weeks until some good healing begins. Try to keep your jeans/pants from riding up on it and make sure you have clean hands before touching it. You could probably put a little Neosporin with pain relief at the top to see if that helps. Make sure to keep turning the ring even though it hurts to keep skin from attaching. To help healing, you can do sea salt soaks 2-3 times a day or bust a vitamin E caplet over it and work into the peircing. When I had mine done, I also used Dial soap when I showered. You only need a little bit. This helps to clean the the piercing and jewelry. Make sure to turn your ring when you do this and rinse well, turning ring while rinsing.

Your piercing is still relatively new and the bad soreness will go away within a few days, but you have to give it time. Never use peroxide or alcohol on it as this has the likelihood to kill off new skin cells and delay healing. Try not to play with it. You do not say what kind of ring you have in it, but if you have one that dangles, you might want to think about using a banana ring or hoop as the dangle part could be putting weight on the top, making it sore.

Your cleaning sounds fine, but you can use the things mentioned above as well. Bactine is wonderful stuff and worked well for me when I had mine done. Hopefully, the soreness will go away soon. Good luck and hope I helped.

How long will my navel piercing be sore for?

Usually a navel piercing is sore for about a month, and then the pain pretty much goes away.
You should be cleaning your piercing 2-3 times a day, doing sea salt soaks as well as washing it with unscented, anti-bacterial soap.

By hurting to breathe, do you mean that breathing deeply causes some soreness to the piercing?
If so, than that's normal because the skin around the piercing is being moved and it can cause some discomfort.

How long does a navel piercing stay sore and red?

DO NOT TOUCH IT UNLESS YOU HAVE WASHED YOUR HANDS FOR 15 SECONDS! That is an easy way to get it infected.

I don't think that you have anything to worry about. It probably may just be a little sore since I know you've probably bumped it at least once or twice (putting on your shirt, walking into a corner, in the shower..etc) so its most likely normal. Just keep up with cleaning it and leave it alone if you aren't. Its really tempting to peel at it and move it around, but believe me, if you want a fast healing time, just don't go there.

I don't know what your piercer told you, but here are some good ways to take care of it (to ease your paranoia, I guess). I was told to put some antibacterial soap (non scented and without the little beads and such) around the piercing site in the morning and at night. Wash your hands for 15 seconds before doing so!! Then, about 3 times a day or as much as you can without overcleaning it, soak it in salt water. To do this, buy some sea salt, NOT NORMAL TABLE SALT, put some in a cup, fill it with hot water, AS HOT AS YOU CAN STAND, and put it on top of your belly button to soak for 5-15 minutes. It reallyyyyy helps. Especially if you're experiencing a lot of soreness. Then just wipe away the water with a paper towel, not a bathroom towel, those have lots of bacteria. And also use those throw away small paper cups to prevent more bacteria.

Make sureee to take really good care of it! And wait until it is FULLY HEALED to change it. I changed mine after only 2 months and it ended up irritated and infected, I'm still having to nurse it back to health :[ ! Take my advice, and I know that yours will heal up good. A good time to wait to change it would be around 4 months, trust me, its worth waiting!

Good luck:)

How long will my belly button piercing be sore for? How long will it take to heal?

I've had my piercing for about 5 days. It's not red and it does not have pus coming from it. It's a little itchy and somewhat sore. I was told these are good signs, and it should take about 30days to heal if I keep it clean. Am I on the right track? I'm going on vacation at the end of August will I be able to go swimming?

Navel piercing sore after time?

depends on which one we are talking about, the one on the top for me took the longest... 3 weeks i think it was tender to the touch. But that is where I bend... and all my shirts rubbed it all the time. The bottom one was fine that night, it never hurt at all... but low rise jeans, and the shirts I was wearing at the time weren't as form fitted, My side ones hurt for about a week a piece.... but then again Im also getting used to new holes in my body lol, Try looser fitting tops, and try to avoid wearing pants with elastic bands to bed, (stick to underwear in bed and a long t-shirt) as the waist bands tend to creep up and rub on the ring, and irritate it. And honestly if its just sore, and not from an infection, take an asprin, it will ease the irritation, so bending won't be as uncomfortable. Just keep cleaning it, and you will be fine trust me... I have enough holes in my body to make any one cringe!

How long will my navel piercing hurt after getting it pierced? Also, a question on free hand piercing.?

when i got mine pierced my piercer didn't use a clamp either and mine came out perfect. he was also a part of the association of professional piercers. its fine if he didnt use a clamp, it just means that he's such a good piercer he doesn't need to. :) there's no difference really from freehand or the clamp, the clamp just helps them get it precise, but if the piercer is good enough they don't need to use the clamp because they can do it straight without it. it just means you had a really good piercer.

and it could be sore for a couple more days. every person is different, as long as there is no puss or blood or crusties or anything you're fine. you might be sore on and off throughout the entire healing period, but it should never get to the point where it really is interfering with your life it hurts so bad. if it is that bad and doesn't go away after another week, i would go talk to your piercer and see what he or she says.
but the soreness should probably go away soon. just make sure that you're cleaning it multiple times daily.

good luck! :)

My new belly piercing gets very sore during sex. What is the best way to protect it? How long will this last?

If you must have sex before it heals completely, you need to restrict yourself to positions which don't stretch or contract your belly. Passive positions like the 'missionary' or 'doggy', or even 'spoon' if you're careful shouldn't be too much of an issue, though in the first two you'll want to also avoid friction on your tummy, for example by not lowering your chest to the mattress in 'doggy', or by having your partner kneel instead of laying on top of you in 'missionary'. You might also consider some kind of mutual oral sex instead of regular intercourse right now.
Please also remember that during a good orgasm, your belly will likely contract many times, which could further irritate things no matter what position you try.
This will be an issue until the piercing heals, which could take weeks and will only take longer if you continue to exacerbate the injury. Think about investing some time now in healing and abstinence, so that you can get back to business that much more quickly. Remember to use any ointments, creams, etc. given by your piercer exactly as instructed and without fail to heal as fast as you can. Also, speed healing with proper diet including supplements of vitamins C, D and E, and ask your piercer or your doctor if you can apply vitamin E oil topically to aid in healing.
Good Luck!
