How Many Cups Will Sidney Crosby Win In His Career

Is Sidney Crosby a class act?

No matter how many people try to lure him into telling them where to go, he just doesn't bite. Mature beyond his years. I would have told Don Cherry to bite me years ago.......Sid just smiles and says how much he enjoyed Coach's corner as a kid.
There's the whole Semin thing....if I was Crosby and he called me out, I'd be lighting him up through the media, everything from "what has he won?" to his "trips to the IR" to his peculiar name......but nope, Sid won't bite. Bigger man than most.

FROM AN ARTICLE TODAY......

"Coincidentally or not, Crosby has gotten hot since the Capitals’ Alexander Semin called him overrated, a player whose production has never matched his hype.

“What’s so special about Sidney Crosby? I don’t see anything special there,” Semin said last month. “If you take any player, even if he is dead wood, and start promoting him, you’ll get a star.”

The criticism seemed curious given that Crosby scored more points (102) at a younger age than any player in league history in 2005-06, won the scoring title a season later at 19, then returned from a major ankle injury to lead Pittsburgh to the Stanley Cup finals last season.

Crosby wouldn’t say whether Semin’s comments motivated him. Maybe he didn’t have to.

“I don’t think I really have to defend myself with words,” Crosby said. “I play the game and play the way I feel I have to, the way I feel is the right way. If that’s not up to someone’s standards, that’s fine. If they feel like they have to have their opinion heard, that’s fine, too. But, you know, that’s not really the way I go about it.”

People like to compare one generation's stars to the next generation's stars.........of course there is only one Bobby Orr or Mario Lemeiux BUT it is this part of Sidney's persona, not his game or his skills but his class that makes him the closest thing to Wayne Gretzky.........since Wayne Gretzky.

Will Sidney Crosby have a better career than Wayne Gretzky?

If you MUST have an answer I highly doubt it. Just look at the numbers, if Crosby had 150 points a years for 10 years and 100 a year for 10 he would still come up short. And note he has yet to have that 150 point season.

Now can I PLEASE make a plea, once again, to avoid asking these questions until Crosby accomplishes a little more? It's not like anyone else hasn't had 116 points before. Calm down people. Please? Pretty please?

Why do people call Sidney Crosby a crybaby?

listen puck bunny, i'm not coming to your defense here. i'm just here to help some people out over incorrect notions they may have of crosby.

people hate him because he's the best! he got great at such a young age, was the youngest captain to hoist the cup, and has a crazy fan base. we pittsburghers do a great job. also, i'm sick of hearing this "oh he's a crybaby" bull. yeah, at the beginning of his career, he talked to the refs a bit too much, but honestly, he was a TEENAGER. he's clearly grown out of it now. he talks to the refs every now and then and that's because he's the captain. as far as him being a dirty player? come on, that's not even close to being true. he's a clean player. if he wasn't he'd have mad penalty minutes. anyone who thinks otherwise is just blinded by hatred. sidney crosby is talented, that's all.

Paul Kariya in his prime or Sidney Crosby?

Paul Kariya's best year was 108 points, in a higher scoring NHL. In Kariya's prime (ages 27-30), he wasn't averaging a point a game (241pts in 281gms). In retrospect, his 1996-97 season was a monster season (99 points in 69 games) but he wasn't that good before that year, and he certainly hasn't been that good since that year. Remove that year from his career, and he is averaging less than a point a game (and based on his current career trajectory, he's going to end up with Doug Gilmour/Dino Cicccarelli type numbers as it is from a point/game perspective - and they aren't HOF players either).

I know Paul quite well, and he's taken a huge beating in his career for a man his size. But he was an above average player at best, never a superstar. He'll tell you that himself.

So, to answer your question - I'll take Sidney Crosby who in a lower scoring NHL has hit every major point plateau in fewer games than Paul Kariya.

Sergei fedorov vs sidney crosby? was fedorov as good as crosby in his prime?

Nothing against Crosby, he'll be one of the greats, if he can stay healthy and can have a long career. Sergei Fedorov, as good as he was, was somewhat of a disappointment. If he'd fully committed himself to the sport, he could have been one of those players that are mentioned as being in a category all by themselves. He played both wings, centre, and defenceman, and was effective at all the those positions.
