Fasting 6 days in Shawal after Ramadan is like you have fasted for the entire year! but....?
Whoever fasts Ramadan & follows it with six days from Shawwal it is as if they fasted the entire year.” [Muslim] ~ The fast of Ramadan is like observing ten months of fasting. Fasting six days of Shawwâl is like observing two months of fasting. This together is like fasting throughout the year." [Sahîh Ibn Khuzaymah (2115) & Sunan al-Nasâ'î al-Kubrâ (2860) – authenticated by al-Albân - SubhaAllah!! My question is can we fast any time during the month of Shawal? Is it just the first 6 days? does it have to be 6 consecutive days or can be any alternative days during the month of shawal? JazakAllah khair Brothers and sisters. Hope you all had a great Eid :)

Fast is Obligattory taraweeh is an innovation reading Quran is a must for mercy and healing and guidance tahajud is extra reward not an obligatory zakat is obligatory itikaf is not obligatory thats extra ibadah lail a tul qadr is the night,of revelation of Quran ,the first verse was revealed in that night sunnah differs from sect to sect, there is no mention in Glorious Quran to follow Sunnah
21 Hours of daytime fasting during Ramadan..Wut to do?
The 2010 Ramadan will be my first in Northern Canada. During the holy month, daytime will be 21 hours long. What can I do? Sun rises at 3:00am and sets at 12am...That is a straight 21 hours of fasting and I think it is going to be horrible for me. I work everyday from 8:00am to 6:00pm. Any help would be very appreciated and please back up your answers with sources and links. Thanks
