Where should I move: Oregon, Kentucky, Tennessee, Texas, New York?

I have an opp through my employer to request a transfer to one of these states.

This is what I know.
Oregon: Job would be in Portland. Great scenery, clean air and water, probably the highest quality of life of the five locales, decent people, close to Seattle, no sales tax.

Texas: Currently first pick. Would be in San Antonio. Hill Country, very clean, no income tax, people are great, some of the nicest looking women I've seen, ATX nearby.

Kentucky: would be at Ft. Knox near Louisville. The cost of living is cheap, low crime. I've never been treated nicely there; bad attitudes. I guess if I listened to country music all day, had dirty roadsides and lousy weather I'd be depressed, too.

Tennessee: would be in Nashville, a great city! Beautiful state, nice highways, great recreational opps, friendly folk. Closest to my home state.

New York: would be in Manhattan. Like the people, fast pace, and can-do will-do attitude. It's its own universe! But the cost of living...whoa

Kentucky or Texas? Which do you like better? Why?

I've lived in KY all but two years of my life that I lived in Texas. I hated every second on those two years. And not because I just missed home. The weather (in the Dallas area especially) can be kinda finicky (sp?) Where as one day it is hot with high humidity, and the next it is cool. It will do that back and forth everyday, which caused my to have a lot of lung problems due to my bad allergies. I ended up constantly battling pnuemonia and broncitius back and forth the whole time I lived there. People drive like crazy in TX, and no one knows how to react when it snows. It snowed heavily both winters I lived there and people freaked out. School was cancelled one time for 3 days due to half an inch of snow! A lot of people I found to be extremely rude and treated my entire family horribly upon finding out we were from Kentucky. I had full grown adults explaining to me how to use a VCR one time and were shocked when I told them we had those in KY as well.

On a brighter side, TX does have a lot more to offer culturally than Kentucky. And One thing they have in common is way too much love for their sports teams haha. In Texas, they obsess over the Cowboys, and in Kentucky you're a trader if you don't live every second of your life for the KY WildCats basketball team.

I do suppose I just happened to have met all the crazy people in Texas during my time there and I in no way think everyone in Texas is as I described above.

How many stamps do I need to send a letter to Kentucky?

If you’re sending your letter (1 oz or less) from the US to another state in the US, you need 1 forever stamp, which is 47–49 cents, it jumps between those prices. If it is a parcel that exceeds the 1 oz limit, go into the post office and they will weigh it for you and charge accordingly.

You may drive that NM registered car with no front plate in any of the blue states legally.

Which is cheaper to live at? Texas, ohio, kentucky, west virginia,or connecticut?

You can compare cities on:

http://www.bestplaces.net/

It depends on what city you pick, although I promise you Connecticut will be the most expensive of all you have mentioned.

Of the 5, only Texas has no income tax and a resonable sales tax.

Ohio, Kentucky and WV are all relatively lower cost states to live in.

Pick a city and compare for yourself on the web site I added to this answer.

Which State is hotter Texas or Alabama?

Dallas Texas would be a dry heat, whereas Alabama is a moist, humid heat. Texas gets hotter during the summer because it is farther south, however they feel pretty much the same because of Alabama's humidity.
