How Much Does A 2-year Contract With Verizon Cost

Can you still upgrade verizon phone when 2 year contract hasn't ended yet?

You have to pay full price. The voyager right now is $409.99 full price, $199.99 with 2-yr contract.

18 years old can I get a contract with Verizon?

Yes, you can get a contract online or you can call.

Is it true that by having a 2 year Verizon contract, you end up paying $480 more anyways?

2 year contacts had a $40 line access fee which came to $940 in two years.Device payment has a $20 line fee plus the device payment (+/- $20)If you want to leave Verizon on a two year contract you would be charged around $350 early termination fee.If you want to leave Verizon on device payment all you have to do is pay off your device early and take it to any carrier.Device payment is clearly the better choiceFYI you can no longer get a two year contract for smart or basic phones on Verizon.

Why is Verizon dropping annual contracts?

I don't work for Verizon and don't make their policies. However, here are the top reasons I would say they abandoned them:Competition. Everyone else is doing it--AT&T, T-Mobile, Cricket, etc. If Verizon is the only one with contracts, customers will perceive that as a negative. They no longer meant anything. If other carriers are offering to refund cancellation fees, consumers no longer had incentive to stay with Verizon. Why bother enforcing contracts if consumers could cancel them without penalty? But here's the real reason: many consumers are still locked in with lesser risk to Verizon. My wife and I just got new phones on the Verizon Edge plan. Basically, it's financing a phone for two years, without the subsidizing cost they have shouldered in the past. If I leave Verizon, they're going to bill us for the remainder of the phones' cost anyway. If I decide to leave Verizon, either I pay for the phone or Verizon now has a debt that is easy to collect because they're chasing me for sale of a physical good. There's no debate about contracts, when did I sign one, did I sign, is the contract legal, etc. Therefore, I'm still heavily influenced to stay. The bottom line to all of this is that the cost to consumers is relatively the same. However, instead of giving away expensive equipment to support consumption of overpriced services, consumers are now paying for the equipment and the cost of the service has decreased accordingly. Thanks for A2A.

What is a two-year activation for verizon?

Good question, it is following standard upgrade practice from what we understand. When your two year contract is up or you are ready for an upgrade your contract is extended two years from the date that you sign it....not in addition. Remember that you have 4 months early you can do an upgrade, and our system will see that. So if you got your phone June 5th of 2009 you are due on Feb 5th 2011. If you get a iPhone say on the 10th you will be in contract till Feb 10th 2013 but due for an upgrade 4 months prior (Oct 10th). You will not be able to get the $199 or $299 price unless you are due for an upgrade or using another persons upgrade on the same account. If you are not due yet, you will buy at full retail which is right around 599.99 I believe.

Just started a verizon contract when phone broke. verizon made me add adtl line. is this right?

You could have purchased a phone but it would have had to have been a Verizon-branded phone and it would have had to have had a clean ESN. Nonetheless, it probably would have been less than the cost of an extra line for 2 years. However, you are only being charged an extra $10/month for the 3d line. That's $240 plus taxes. While you could have purchased a new phone for that, you would have had to have come up with the money immediately. With the extra line, you are able to pay over time.

The problem is that Verizon is not obligated to advise you what's best for you. You went to them with a problem and they gave you a solution. You chose to do no research and accept Verizon's solution. That decision will cost you. Next time, you'll do some research.

How much does it cost to cancel a Verizon Wireless mobile phone subscription?

There is no disconnect fee, and with that end of 2 year contracts, there are no more Early Termination Fees (ETF). If you decide to leave, all you owe is the balance on any device financing agreement you haven’t paid off yet, and your final bill for service prorated to the date of disconnection. If you are somehow under a 2 year contract for a phone (these should be all complete) or other device, the fees are:* $350 for smartphones * $175 for basic phones and connected devices (Jetpacks, tablets, cameras, smartwatches, etc.)If you are receiving a monthly credit on your device financing agreement to reduce the price or get a “free” phone, these credits will be void when you cancel, and you will still owe the ENTIRE balance.
