How much does getting contacts cost through lenscrafters?
I'm not sure how much it would be through Lenscrafters. I had my last eye exam and contact fitting at a Wal-Mart Vision Center. I don't have vision insurance, and my total was $91. That included the eye exam, contact fitting, a starter kit with solution and contact case, one trial pair of contacts (colored), and my prescription, so that I can order online or at an eye doctor's office. If you have vision insurance, your total may be even less than mine was. I had a great experience with the Wal-Mart Vision Center. The eye doctors there are just as well trained as any other eye doctor. The only reason they are so much cheaper is because they don't have the high overhead of owning their own office building, and all the costs that go along with that. Once you have your prescription, you might want to check the prices of your contacts online. The cost of your specific contacts will vary, depending on what brand you are prescribed, and what type of wear they are (yearly, daily disposable, weekly, bi-weekly, etc). They could be as cheap as $12 if they're daily disposables, and then the prices can go up into the $100s from there. I've found 1800contacts.com to be super cheap, and they have really fast shipping. They also have a thing where if you can find your contacts anywhere online cheaper, they will beat that price by 2% if you can provide them with the link to the cheaper price.
Lens crafters or pearle vision?
They are both good and now both are owned by the same parent company (Luxottica). So if Pearle is closer you can try them. I work for a private doctor so i have to say that if you have one close to you try them first. They are usually priced about the same but the service is usually more personal. Good luck!!!!
Has anyone here ever bought glasses from Lenscrafters?
no tax on prescription glasses. If get only a basic glasses exam its about $55. More if you want to get dilation or if you want contacts.
Cost of eye exams please!?
I got an eye exam at Target Optical (North Carolina) for $60. Since I have a simple prescription, I ordered my glasses from a website called value lenses (I think). After shipping, they cost $64. I've been wearing glasses and contacts for about 25 years, and the eye doctor at Target in Durham is my favorite doc ever.
