How Much Force Would Be Needed To Dent A Steel Door That Is 2

How much force is required to destroy a reinforced steel door?

It depends on the door, Joel. Also, by using a tool for concetrating the force on a door weaker point, and or with a tool brings best results.Firefighters and police thrust the door near the handle, i.e., far from the hinges, for more leverage. The amount of newtons, or pounds-force or kilograms-force, I do not know. Also, the process of knocking down a door is using a mass with speed, so it has more to do initially with momentum, or mass x speed, translated later at the moment of impact with the door to impulse, force x time.

Could most people generate enough force to punch through a car window?

A guy punched through my car door last night while I was driving back from home.Happened in Bangalore, India. A lot of people here don’t really understand the concept of lanes on the road. A guy riding a motorbike with no helmet on cut into my lane from the left, right in front of my car, while he was speaking on the phone, with the phone stuck between his ear and shoulder. Then he cut into the lane on my right and tried to ride into a small alley on the right. The traffic was slow moving so there was very little direct danger to anyone. Having had a tough day at work, I got a little worked up. I rolled down my window and (not in a rude way) asked him to put his phone down. He gave me a cold stare in return.I realized I had rubbed the wrong guy the wrong way.The guy was huge, scary looking, and to top off the gangster look, was wearing a thick gold chain. He came back into my lane behind me. Parked right next to me, got off his bike, came to my window, which I had by then rolled back up, and dared me to roll it down. I was regretting asking him to put his phone down. I refused to engage him and just pointed him to a police vehicle that was just further up the road. He went back to his bike.Only to chase me and catch me at the next intersection. He blocked my car by parking his bike in front of me and daring me to get off the car and “talk to him”. Again, I went around his bike and sped off. My apartment block gates were about a 100yards away, I thought I wouldn’t see the guy again. When I reached the gate, the security guys opened the gate, and before I could finish telling them not to let a guy in a motorbike inside the gates, he got off his bike, ran to my door, and smashed my driver side window. With a single bare-knuckled punch. Then for good measure, gave me another punch on my cheekbone. When he saw a small cut that bled, he got back to his bike and fled.Luckily, my injuries were very minor and superficial. Getting my window fixed as I type this.Oh, so to answer your question - I’m not sure about most people. But I was very surprised how with a single punch this guy could shatter my car window.

How much force is required to bend steel with your bare hands?

It depends how thick the steel is.If the steel is thin, bending it with your bare hands is easy. This is why paper clips work the way they do. Amazon.com: Lineco Stainless Steel Paper Clips, Package of 50: Home & KitchenOn the other hand, if you increase the width of steel to a quarter of an inch, and combine three sheets into an I-beam, as seen here: Prices Drop As You Shop, then it becomes very rigid and hard to bend. Beam Deflection Calculator is a cool website for calculating how much force it would take to bend steel in different circumstances.

A student pulls a box of books on a smooth horizontal floor with a force of 100 N in a direction of 37 degrees?

the acceleration will be caused by the horizontal component of the pulling force

since the floor is frictionless, there is no opposing friction force, so we have

horizontal component of pulling force = ma

100 cos 37 = 40 a

a = 2.0m/s/s

Is it safe to remove a car door dent by hot water and toilet punger in India?

Having spent many years as the owner of an automobile Dent Repair company, I can rather assuredly claim that what you are attempting to do is unlikey to have any effect unless the dent is at least 2–3 times the size of the plunger. However, if the dent is multiple times the size of the plunger, you may actually find this approach effective at changing the dent from being one large dent to multiple small dents. While this might sound like an unappealing change to some, it actually makes a big difference in the appearance of the vehicle. The effectiveness of this technique will massively depend on the location of the dent however; dents nearer the edge of a panel are less likely to influenced by the relatively low force which a plunger is capable of exerting. That said, any dent that is close to the size of the plunger will not benefit in any way (but feel free to try!). If you are looking for a low-cost option to deal with smaller dents, or dents that do not respond to your proposed method, and you don’t mind imperfect results, I would suggest the following materials:A hot glue gunHot Glue (or specialized dent glue - DentOuts red glue is extremely resilient)Wooden DowelsNailsDenatured AlcoholI managed to find a YouTube video here of a “technician” who has managed to perform glue pulling on a large dent near the bottom edge of a panel with these materials. The wooden dowels and nails serve as a substitute for Glue Tabs and Slide Hammers, which you are likely looking to avoid purchasing considering you want to use a plunger. However, the links for my recommended items (very versatile tabs) are there if you’re interested in purchasing these items.Good luck!!

How much stainless steel can a 9mm round penatrate?

Since this is for a fictional story, and not real life practicality, perhaps it would be better to make your decision based on the weight and portability of the shield. Lets face it, if you are going to carry around a shield designed to stop bullets, weight is going to be a real factor.
A 1/4" thick plate of steel 30" in diameter is going to be very heavy, while still leaving a lot of flesh exposed. While a 1/8" plate would be lighter, it is still a lot of weight to carry around, and it will be dented by the bullets, and possibly penetrated at close range. Make the shield smaller and you loose defensive cover. Realistically, if you have a shield thick enough to stop bullets effectively, and light enough to carry around, then you will be shot in the legs or feet until you drop the shield.
While villains in anime movies might pour hundreds of rounds into someones 1 ft diameter shield while the hero moves the shield to deflect all the bullets, in reality a couple of well aimed shots to the ankle and your hero is done.

Car Dent Puller?

Hello Justin,I own a body shop and we do that type of work when it happens. We have never had good results with that type of tool,it's more effective for larger dents that may pop.The smaller dents where the metal is stretched need to be carefully pushed from behind with long rods, rounded on the end. Each dent is different, some will push well, others won't.Give the hood a try.Locate the dent and look across the panel while rubbing from behind with a tool.Carefully force it back up without dimpling the steel and breaking the paint.Good luck,it's sort of fun.
