How Much Should I Bring To New York City For 4 Days

How much money should I bring to New York? I'm staying for a week. My hotel will cost $415. I get breakfast included.

I usually don’t carry much cash at all - I’ll go for days at a time without using cash, just using credit or debit cards. You need cash for many of the food carts, and there are some shops (especially in Chinatown) that won’t accept credit cards, but you’re always going to be able to find someone who will take plastic. But if you’re asking how much you should expect to spend - it depends on how you plan to spend your time. If you’re on a budget, you can get by with a MetroCard (I think it’s about $30 or so for a week-long unlimited ride) and walking for transportation (and NYC is a pretty walkable city). You can get a good egg sandwich and coffee at a food cart or a deli for about $5, and you can get lunch from a falafal or hot dog cart for about the same. You can also get a sandwich at most delis for $6-$8 - throw in a bottle of iced tea and you might be up to $10 for a low-cost lunch (or dinner). So by being frugal, you can make it for about $25-$30 a day for the essentials. After that, it just depends on what you want to do and how much that costs.BTW - one of the best rides in NYC is the Staten Island Ferry - it’s free!

How much money do I need per day in New York City? Planning to stay for a month but I have a place to crash.

Hi Emilia, thanks for the A2A.Could you share some more specifics? If you are going to be here as a tourist / visitor and wish to do sightseeing etc, that would impact the budget. Are you required to pay rent for the place you’re crashing at?If you plan to socialize and enjoy some nightlife, then that would also impact your budget. You’d need a monthly subway card ($116.50) unless you have access to a car (in which case you would need to factor gas and parking fees - which can be exorbitant depending on the neighborhood and time of the day.Let’s say you want to maximize your budget and make it stretch by considering the basics:Daily commuting expenses: $3.80 (based on a monthly unlimited subway card that lets you ride both buses and trains — it’d be much cheaper than buying a weekly card or paying per ride).Snacks and sips: $10 (a latté can set you back by at least $5 - or more)Meals: Can range widely but let’s go on the lower end of the spectrum and say $8 for lunch and $12 for dinner, so $20. Of course, if you intend to cook, then the cost would be lower.Miscellaneous: This can cover anything from toiletries to medicines, to a spontaneous cocktail, or an impulse purchase — $15 to $75Rounding it up, you are looking at $50 to $100+ a day. I’d err on the side of padding up the budget a bit because you never know. If you end up spending less, then great!

How long does it take a package to get from Florida to New York?

If it is shipped Priority Mail, it should arrive in three days.

If it is shipped UPS, it depends upon the type of shipping paid for. UPS has overnight service (very expensive), and they have standard shipping. If standard shipping was used, it will usually take about four days to arrive.

How much money would you bring to NYC for 5 days?

I am going to be travleing to new york with my aunt in december. I've never been, and not sure how much money I should bring. And this would not be including hotel or such. I'm trying to figure out how much I need for food and shopping.
Any sugestions?
Thanks!

How much spending money should I bring on  a trip to New York?

If they are paying for the hotel, plane flight and the food...I would take $1,000. That seems like alot, but you won't spend it all. It's better to HAVE extra cash (carry it IN YOUR SHOE). No purses, backpacks. Don't leave money in the hotel. Tipping is required. Cab rides are mandatory and they aren't cheap. Most museaums are free. Central Park is free. If you want to see an afternoon Broadway show, that will cost a few dollars. Shopping is up to you. In Chinatown buy tourist junk. At Macy's, Saks, Bloomingdales, or at boutiques, a pair of shoes is about $300.

How would you spend a 30-day vacation in New York? Is it too much?

What a luxury to have 30 days to spend in NYC! There's so much to see and do, you could certainly spend all of it in the city and still not visit all the great museums, statues, theaters, galleries, restaurants, parks, neighborhoods and typical tourist attractions. But I wouldn't! With that amount of time I would take a few days to visit Washington D.C. and Philadelphia. And I would also recommend a trip up to the beautiful Hudson River Valley and visit the many historic mansions and quaint, small villages and towns like Cold Spring (a must for any trip to the HV). If art is your thing head to the Dia Arts Center in Beacon and the Storm King Arts Center in Storm King. West Point Military Academy is nearby as well. Back in the city you can also explore the other boroughs. I suggest Wave Hill Gardens, the NY Botanical Gardens, Bronx Zoo and Arthur Avenue for great Italian food - all in the Bronx; The Cloisters and Washington Heights and Harlem in upper Manhattan, and the Brooklyn Museum and Prospect Park in Brooklyn. All the above are ideal in fall, spring, and summer. If here in winter you may want to do more winter related activities such as heading upstate or to Vermont for skiing. You can rent a car or use Zip Car for trips upstate. To D.C. and Philly, I'd stick with the train. Though if you did drive there are great stops to make such as Lambertville, NJ and New Hope, PA; or even a side trip to the Amish country around Lancaster, PA.There's so much to see and do in NYC and the region. Go online and research and plan ahead so you spend your time wisely and enjoyably.

Which is more expensive, or a better deal, New York City or Las Vegas? How much money would I need for a four day trip to each place?

I am 33 years old. For my 35 birthday, I would like to take a trip to either Las Vegas or New York City. I would probably only go with one other person, and we would be gone for four days. Because I am on an extremely tight budget, I decided to start saving now. But which is a better deal, and how much should I plan on needing at each place?
