How Much Should I Price This Painting For

What price to sell a painting as a beginner?

The best way to know what price to put to a painting is to compare what you do with others so you can know how much to charge, so look in art websites like Artwork: Buy Original Art Online, Paintings & More | Saatchi Art and Artist Websites - Buy Art Directly from Thousands of Artists. If you don't know much about comparation and still are clueless of what to charge, then do something I don't agree doing it but it would be be the only way: take in account the prices of the materials you used and establish how much money do you expect to do in a month with your work. Then count the hours it took you to finish the work and for example, if you say you want to win 1000 dollars in a month and you work from monday to friday 8 hours a day, so that would be around 32 hours (a bit more maybe), and you worked in that piece 6 hours, so:1000 dollars are 32 hours, how much would be 6 hours? You do a rule of three: 1000x6/32=187,50. You add the price you pay for materials, let say 60 dollars. Add a bit more if you really like that particular work, and you have it. So it would be something around 300 dollars. Also, take in account the size of the work. Big pieces obviously cost more but they take longer so I think you would be ok with this system. But if you work really fast, then for big pieces charge a bit more. If you establish that for a work that sizes 29x29 inches you charge 300 dollars, you would have to charge like 500 if you do a rule of three. Try to keep your prices according to size and technique around the equivalent prices. Again, that'd not the way I like to charge, but if you are starting it can be a good way of doing it.

How much should i charge for painting a fence?

Measure the length by the height to get your square footage. That will give you an approximate on the paint needed if you look at the coverage on the paint can. Divide the square feet by the lower coverage amount on the paint can.
Then, depending on your area, you can charge what you can get from the customer. Around my area in the Metro Atlanta area, I'd charge .75 per square foot plus paint. You do have two sides to paint. Guessing at 4' high that would be, with white wash, around 220 gallons. Lots of lost paint due to overspray. And around $8250 for labor. You can also figure how long it'll take to do one section and multiply that by the sections to arrive at the approximate hours to finish and charge by the hour according to what your area will bear. $18 - $25 per hour in my area for something simple like that.

How much should I sell my first painting?

5 Methods on how to price your artworkMETHOD 1: (Hourly Wage x Hours Spent) + Cost of Materials + Variable Costs + Edition MultiplierDo not be a struggling artist. Do not sell your artwork for cheap. However, do not blindly price your artwork. Please note that you need to price your artwork reasonably, art buyer / collector will not want to spend money on overpriced or low quality works, especially from an inexperienced artist. You are free to price yourself or follow our steps below.STEP 1 - Pay yourself a reasonable hourly wage, add the cost of materials, add variable costs and make that your asking price. You can estimate the costs directly contributed to the making of your artwork (i.e. if you use half a paint bucket for your painting, simply add the cost as half a bucket, not a whole). Let’s say :Cost of materials (turpentine, canvas, oil, brush, etc.) = $100Cost of variables (electricity, internet, room rental, etc.) = $50Time spent to make the artwork = 15 hoursEstimate worth of your time (on average $15-25/hour) = $20 / hourSo, ($20 hourly x 15 hours) + ($100 of materials + $50 of variables) = your Base Price ($450)STEP 2 - you can add your additional margin such as for experience (especially if you have earned awards, public recognition, so on). This margin is also to allow you to get your desired profit after cost inclusion of of shipping, manufacturing, printing, insurance, and so on. Note that for most cases, the purchaser will pay for the shipping, but the artists will pay for the rest and attribute those costs into the product pricing. Let’s sayMargin for 5 years of experience = $100Margin for getting awards, accolades, trophies = $70Margin for production, packaging, insurance, etc. = $80So, ($100 of experience + $70 of recognition + $80 of other costs) + $450 Base Price = your Real Price ($700)STEP 3 - For Limited Edition item, you can set 200%-300% of the total artwork price. And for Open Edition item, you can price lower (you will be able to sell more volume, so it is appropriate to price your art lower)So, 200% x $700 Real Price = Limited Edition Price ($1,400)STEP 4 - If you sell through a gallery, the gallery will adjust the price up to cover their costs of selling, marketing, administration, e-commerce and more.Read the other methods here - How To Price Your Art Professionally, A Simple GuideSell your artwork online with free online gallery, art printing and shipping services - Sell artwork online today

How much does it cost for body painting?

I'm a professional body painter and photographer.
Pricing is dependent upon how involved the design is, how much of the body is covered and the artist who does the painting. The local market also affects the price. Things are more expensive in areas like NYC, less in places like Idaho.
I charge about $500 for a fairly involved, full-body design & photos.
Prior to hiring a body painter, you should consult with them about your design options, discuss what materials they are using to paint you and find out who has the rights to the images and get an estimate.
See examples of the painters' work to be sure that it is the quality & style that you are looking for.
Be careful that the painter only uses hypo-allergenic makeup so you don't have a nasty reaction. Never let anyone use actual paint to body paint you.
Have fun!

How much should I charge for a digital painting?

This depends on a lot of things. As an ‘artist’ myself, pricing artwork can be difficult and painful for a number of reasons. When I want to sell my art I feel that maybe it’s “not good enough” or “It’s not worth much”. This is not true if these are your thoughts. Art is subjective, like music, people enjoy different things and people consider art differently to the next person. I recently sold this drawing I did for $10 to a friend:It is A3 and it took approximately 13 weeks to complete. I factor in size, material costs, time it took and effort put in to price my work. Anyway, later on after I sold it, my tutor for art asked me why I sold it for only $10. I said because I sold it to a friend and that I didn’t think it was worth more than that as it was my first proper attempt at a landscape. He told me he would have brought it for $450 or more if it was framed! So for your digital art, think about size, time etc… don't worry about what other people make you think. I hope this helps :)

How should I price my art prints (reproductions)?

You don't say what kind of prints you've got, the quality of the paper, if the art is photography or painting, if they will be mounted or matted. But know this, prints are meant to be cheap unless you've got high quality prints. For just the prints, I'd say 4x6 is for mounting on a card and not a print, offering that size for sale could undercut your sale of larger sizes - people will buy a cheaper print if it's available, so I'd make the smallest size 5x7.Now, I use an online printer who produces high quality archival, and affordable, inkjet prints on quality papers. Prints there are the same for 8x10 and under, the retail price is $20-25.  So, starting out, to be safe, keep the prices reasonable - don't put stickers on them, you can always change your mind. So, depending on the quality of the prints, here's just a small guide, the first price a pretty average cost for quality prints, the second, for higher quality. If your prints are not printed archivally, use the lowest prices.5x7 - $10-15/15-208x10 $15-20/20-2511x14 $20-25/25-40You could simply double or triple your cost to make things easy to calculate. But make them affordable. I learned a rule of thumb is that it's really very easy to spend money if it's under thought threshholds - under $25 and $50 are good places for most people. And if they are matted add to the print and double the cost of the mat.Forget time and effort, you aren't selling you work, you are selling copies that really have little value other than the cost to you. Artwork doesn't get charged by the hour, it's about perceived value.

How much should I price my art for?

First let me say your work is incredible. When selling Your work it usually goes by time and material used.
By this it means whatever you feel your hourly rate is, in other words how much do you think you should be paid by the hour if you worked at a job doing this.Example.
Your worth is $30.00 per hour it takes 5 hours to paint one painting then it comes to $150.00 dollars
Now figure in the materials the paint you used and the cost of the canvas and frame if you frame them.
So you used about $10.00 dollars worth of paint and a canvas cost you $20.00 dollars and a frame cost $50.00 the total comes to $80.00.
So $80.00 and plus the time $150.00 So it comes to a total of $230.00 total. That is what you sell your painting for.Be careful about selling on line using the Disney cartoons unless you have permission from the Disney studios you could get sued so check that out . Selling to a private person is another story .
You should have no problems with that .
Once again great work and good luck to you .The figures above are only to show you how to go about it

How much would it cost to paint motorcycle fairings?

I have a 2008 Ninja 650R. same body style as yours. My fairings were Kawi Green. I had them painted metallic black, for around $700.00 which i think is a fair price to expect. it will be more if you want any air brush work or two tone. that price was with the fairings removed aswell.

How much would it cost to paint my car?

I dont mean to sound rude but if you have no automotive paint experience trying to do it yourself is not going to be worth the headache. all the problems that you will have as a new painter, and needing a controlled environment (paint booth or clean emtpy masked off garage) will make you more miserable than paying the money. If you are cleaning it up to sell it and dont care about how long it will last you can get a 300 dollar maaco job. crappy quality they will spray the emblems and only mask of wheels and windows. they wil spray trim and everything but it will be painted and last a year or two before it begins to fade and look bad. price ranges go from 300 to 6000. remember, you get what you pay for. A cheap job means cheap materials and as little prep labor as they can get away with. You can get a lower middle end job at a body shop for 800 or so.
