How Much To Remove Small Scratch From Bumper 2012 Honda Civic

How much does it cost to repaint scratched bumper?

I owned several auto repair and collision shops for over 30 years.Your vehicle most likely has a black trim that left the black mark on the Kia. The first thing I would do is buff out as much as possible to see if there are scratches at all. Many times when is a plastic bumper lightly sideswipes another plastic bumper usually,  there are no deep scratches. However, if the Kia goes to a body shop, here’s what could happen….The rear bumper has to be removed so that the clear coat wraps around the edge of the bumper and the quarter panel (rear fender). The bumper paint gets a flexible additive added to keep the paint from cracking when it is lightly impacted. so the bumper has to be painted separately from the quarter panel. That color is very tough to match so a blend on the quarter panel is going to be several inches in diameter then the entire panel will have to be clear coated to keep the clear from opening with the elements or detailing the vehicle. The cost will most certainly be between $800 and $1,000 depending what state the shop is in.Any shop that tells you that both panels have to be painted and would do that repair for a few hundred dollars, I recommend to all reading this, RUN. unless the shop gets their materials and workers for free and want to pass their savings on to you. There is no lack of butcher shops and you need to do your homework before you spend your money. If you went through your insurance, the way I would go about it is you call your company and ask “at what amount paid (by your insurance company) does it count as a claim against you?” Most companies have a $1,500 threshold,  anything above that and it counts as an incident and could raise your insurance rates. Make sure you get an estimate from her repair shop and if possible one of your choosing. Then you provide that picture with the estimates to your company so it will keep the shop honest and not take a hammer to the quarter panel to increase the repair cost. You can’t blame her if she wants the car repaired back to perfect condition because when it’s time to return it if it’s a lease or resell it or trade it in, a poor repair will certainly be noticed and will lower the vehicle’s value and if it’s a lease return, she will get a charge to re-repair it the right way.I hope this long answer helped.

How much does it cost to fix a scratched bumper?

It really depends on the level of damage that has been done to the Base Coat (color layer) of the paint. It’s a Plastic Bumper… I’d clean it first, with soap & water, then probably use a polishing compound to remove any surface-scuff that has embedded into the clear-coat. Lightly sanding with some Scotch-Brite Pad to cut-down the clear-coat you’d be able to see if the Base Coat has been affected. Glazing Putty to fill any imperfections; prep sanding once dry, a few lite coats of matching color paint (masking-off, to prevent over-spray), more polishing, then clear-coat over the repaired area & blending with old paint surface.I would say 4 Hours of Labor/Waiting Time, $70 in Materials & an attention to detail is all it takes.Unfortunately, the vehicle owner will contact their insurance carrier & your Insurance Carrier will be made to pay whatever it is the Vehicle Owner Wants, regarding Repair, as it falls under Collision & You left an admission of guilt. Otherwise it would have fallen under Comprehensive Coverage & wouldn’t affect your Insurance Rates. When going through an Insurance Estimator, it could cost you anywhere from $500–$1200, instead of the Repair Cost I quoted above.

How much will a honda accord bumper and trunk replacement cost?

A rear deck will run better than 500 for parts and the bumper will run at least 200. If it's a dealership service, the repair is at least 80 an hour for labor, but probably in the 100 an hour range. I estimate 6 hours, so you are on the hook for at least $1500.

This sounds like something to turn into your insurance after you've asked about accident forgiveness programs.

I backed my car (Honda Civic 2010) into a tree, what do I do next ?

Confession time - I hit a tree with my first car, a used Mazda 626.  It was a 5-speed and I was too inexperienced with slippery surfaces and an open differential and slid into a tree.  Shattered the passenger window and caused $1200 damage.I did not report the claim to my insurance company - I was 18 at the time and my rates would have skyrocketed.  Instead, I found a good auto shop that was willing to work with me if I gave them a longer period of time.  I was without a car for a couple months and paid for the cost myself, but no insurance company ever knew about my stupid and careless accident. If I were you, I'd take it to a couple repair shops and get prices.  You may find that it is not a big cost to fix and be willing to pay it yourself.

What is the average cost of a bumper dent repair?

If it's a dent in an ABS bumper covered the paint isn't missing, ten minutes with a hair-dryer can do a surprisingly good job.   My son's front bumper cover had a grapefruit-sized bash and I fixed it with a big hair-dryer, 10 minutes.  From 3 feet away you can't tell it was bashed, unless you really squint.  Either you can do it to leave it to a body shop.  The body shop will want to repaint the bumper to make it look perfect, that adds another $350 to the cost, if you're on a budget see if they will just do the hair-dryer treatment.  Otherwise you can get the whole bumper cover for not too many bucks, see eBay.  Many places will even paint it for you.  It takes about 15 minutes to replace it.

Does scraping a car's undercarriage cause damage?

Usually there are two kinds of scrapes - the wide flat ones and then the sharp pointy ones like a rock. I trust you did not have a pointy rock but a broad area where the elevation changed due to going over a curb or speed bump. When you hit a broad elevation change, you usually scrape the bottom of the bumper air dam area if there’s a dip.If there’s a rise you hit the center of your car as you said, middle section.A broad bump usually precludes hitting any suspension parts and usually the motor centered over the front wheels because the wheels lift that part up.When you hit the center going over a rise (if the rise is too large you “high center” the car leaving it teetering. But if you get a scrape and slide off then you have not exceeded the travel of the suspension. Most likely a scrape int he middle hits the frame only. Key crushable or bendable parts such as brake lines, fuel lines and drive shafts (if rear wheel drive or AWD) will probably be up above the bottom of the frame and you will just have scraped the iron frame with no damage.Worst damage is caused by pointy objects which stick way up and between the wheels so the car does not get any lift. In that case, the oil pan or transmission or cooling parts can get damaged. But this does not sound like it happened to you as evidenced by lack of overheating or oil pressure indicators soon after.ANd 3 mph would be insufficient to do much damage anyway as the car body would not have deflected greatly.

How much would it typically cost to repaint a Honda Odyssey (Dark Blue Color) Mini-van?

It heavily depends on the condition of the vehicle and how good you want the job to look.Let's say that the van is very clean- no nicks, no scratches, no dents. It just needs sprucing up.If your intent is to sell the van virtually immediately and keep it the same color then a $500 job from MAACO or other discount shop will be fine. It'll be nice and shiny for the buyer... for about 6 months. Wait for the shop frequent 1/2 price specialsIf you are going to keep the van and it'll be the same color then you'll probably want to shy away from a discount painter and find a good body shop. Figure around $1000 for a good, basic job that'll certainly be durable for the life of the vehicle. If you want to change color AND keep the van, keep in mind that door jambs, under the hood, etc also have to be painted. This takes a LOT of time. Figure at least $1500. Probably closer to $2000.If you want a GREAT paint job- different color or not- you'll need to give up the van for several weeks at least and expect a $3000-5000 bill. But boy will it ever look great.

How much will it cost to fix this car door?

i would replace the door, probably the cheapest as well as best way to fix that. then how much that replacement door costs depends on whether you can find a replacment from an scrapping facility or new and if you find one from a wreck with that door intact it again depends if you have to or want to do a paint job. some let it be and others paint the replacement part and again others are lucky enough to find a replacment with the same color. last but not least there are often third party parts which come much cheaper than original parts while the quality is then often mediocre or at least less.Like reading my stuff? How much would it be to repair this dent I left on a car?

Nice door ding! The door skin is well damaged and it is most economical to replace the door. Yes it could be worked into original shape, but the labor to do that far surpasses a new door from Honda. With any luck the window regulator is not damaged and it's typically about 3 to 4 hours labor to swap all the components into the new door shell, and fit/adjust the door to the car. There may be damage to the hinges and latch assembly, and some of the seals may be a bit old and need to be replaced if they crack or tear during removal, this would all require additional parts replacement.Paint is likely the most expensive part as the entire door will need to be painted with color and clear. The surrounding surfaces ( rocker, rear quarter, front door, roof arch, exterior door handle, door sill and surround) will all have to be partially sanded and sprayed to blend the paint effectively. It takes about half a day of labor just to sand and buff after paint on that area or coverage, prep and paint is easily a day and a half. And mixing up some fresh, quality paint is not cheap either. All together, the repair at a reputable shop can be anywhere from $2500 to $4000. This is likely well beyond your deductible, and most reputable insurance companies cover the repairs for as long as the owner retains the vehicle, giving you less chance of having to come out of pocket for subsequent rework or repairs. To put it in perspective of personal experience, just a rear bumper skin replacement on a Civic is usually $900 to $1000 and this involves far less mechanical and paint work, as well as the plastic bumper is less expensive than a stamped and welded steel door. A side swipe on a Subaru Impreza that creased two doors and a front fender was a $9000+ repair. Yeah, I've got to stop getting hit in traffic! .
