How Much Weight Will I Lose From A 7 Day Water Fast

How much weight will i lose on a 7 day water fast?

Water fasts have been used and prescribed by traditional healers in numerous cultures for thousands of years. However, the primary goal is the flushing of toxins and allowing the body to self-heal, because the enormous amount of energy the body uses to digest food is curbed towards healing itself in the absence of caloric intake. Weight loss is a secondary bonus, but you have to get in the mindset of changing your life habits in order for it to be beneficial. But enough blabbing, you will lose about 7-10 pounds in 7 days. HOWEVER, be sure to eat cooked/steamed vegetables, broth, and fruit/veggie juice for about a week after your fast, then graduate to raw fruits/veggies. Put meat back in your diet about 2 weeks after. Good Luck! AND PUT ABOUT HALF A TEASPOON OF SEA SALT IN A LITER OF WATER A DAY -> it will make sure that you have electrolytes that are necessary for brain and nervous function.

Oh, also:
-Starving and fasting are completely different things...
-It is not stupid...
-You won't die unless you deplete electrolytes, half teaspoon of salt in a liter of water helps...
-Look at the research, water fasting is medically beneficial...

How much weight will I lose from a 7 day water fast?

I'm doing this as a cleanse... I'm wondering how much weight I would lose from only drinking water for 7 days. Afterwards I would slowly ease into food again, starting with a minimal amount of fruits and vegetables and slowly introducing proteins such as lean meats and nuts, and plan on consuming minimal carbs. As of now, I'm 5'8 and 165 pounds (big, I know). My goal weight is 115-120. I just want to do this fast to get a head start on my way back to healthy eating. Please don't tell me this isn't healthy or that I'm going to die because I've looked it up and its recommended by many doctors, and the human body can go without food for 40 days so I should be just fine for 7. I also plan to do 40 minute jogs everyday combined with 20 minute yoga, 100 squats and sit-ups/day, and boxing on some days. I should be in a calorie deficit of approximately 250-300 each day. So my question is, how much weight will I have lost by day 7 of my fast?

How much weight will i lose on a 30 day water fast?

I'm on a water fast right now and I'm at day 4 going on 5. You do loose weight, but you have to be aware of what your body is telling you and to stop when enough is enough.

The best way to do it is not extend the fast past a week without supervision, 10 days at the most. Then you can break the fast carefully, return to eating solid foods after a few days, and then after a nice length break, you can do another 7 day fast. After breaking the fast in the correct way, the only way you won't regain your old weight is if you realize that now the body can process your food better (more efficient.. slower metabolism) and your stomach is smaller, so it needs less. If you go back to eating the normal amount that brought you to this current weight, you'll be right back up there. Do some research before you listen to uneducated people. Your body won't die unless you go into starvation, and that's after it's gone through autolysis, which is the process where your body turns to unnecessary fat cells, bacteria, tumors, ect., for fuel. It's dangerous when your body has no extra fuel left. Since it can detoxify you and give your digestive system a rest, eating up all the destructive things in your body, fasting is frequently looked at as a healing process.

On average you can expect to loose at least 1 pound a day, but it differs for people. If you weigh more, you're likely to loose more quickly.

Do research, be careful, and make sure you're doing it for the right reasons, which is health.

Good luck.

How much weight can I lose after a 10-day water fast?

There's no way any of us could know for sure, it depends on your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure), or how many calories you actually need in a day to maintain your weight. Having a higher TDEE while fasting while speed up the process. For example an active, 200 lbs guy whose height is 6-foot-1 will lose much more weight fasting than a sedentary petite woman.

How much weight can I lose from a 7-day water fast?

Most people water fast for 24–72 hours, and yes, weight loss does occur. It is not wise to only drink water for 7 days and then start eating a bunch of the same foods you were eating. Water fasting can result in losing muscle mass but it is not effective for burning off fat. While water fasting for 2–3 days at a max can have health benefits, it has more risks. Popular fasting methods like intermittent fasting or alternate day fasting, have been proven to be more beneficial for weightloss, without giving you extreme side effects like water fasting. Water fasting for that length of time is not safe, and you should be under a doctor's care, if you still desire to water fast.
