How Much Will It Cost To Replace A Oil Pump For A Volvo

What should it cost to replace a Volvo PCV oil trap?

You will need to call the volvo dealer and see what they say i don't know on that one

How much will it cost to replace a transmission on a 2000 volvo s70?

I had the trannie replaced with a warranteed rebuilt one 18 months ago in my 1995 Volvo 850 (granddaddy of the S70) and it cost me $1,800. I had it done by a small independent transmission shop in a small town -- those are your best bet for a reasonable price, not the dealer. IF the car is paid for and in good shape otherwise, it doesn't seem that bad of an idea to replace it if you can get it done for around $2000. Only you can decide if that is worth it. I am selling the car now for $2500 after getting another year and a half out of it, so I think that was the right choice for me. The repair cost less than payments on a new car.

About how much would a tune up for a 1989 Volvo 740 Turbo cost?

Not possible to give you a good answer. Cost depends on locality and who does the work for you. I'd hate to take my Volvo to a dealer in New York City. Oh the work would be fine, but the price would break me. OTOH, finding a goober mechanic in Nowheresville would be affordable, but might be a bad idea, too. A tune up is a good idea. My 740T has 320K and still runs great. (We won't talk about the plastic parts ...) Four plugs, air and oil filters and five quarts of good oil should be about $50-70; The oil change about 30 minutes and the tune up maybe another hour, including timing. If you need any components inside the distributor, that will be extra.

When you take your car in to get the work done, don't bring the parts. That's like bringing your own raw eggs to a restaurant and asking, "How much to make an omlette?" It's OK to ask what sort of plugs, oil and filters they'll use, but it's a bit tacky to bring your own. That's like saying, "I don't trust your judgement in brands, and I barely trust you to do the work without my intervention." Keep that Swedish iron running; try for a million miles!! (But check the harmonic balancer every 100,000 miles. Don't ask how I know this.) ... Good luck!!

How much does it cost to own a Volvo?

Your camry is a good car ...? But volvos can be very expensive if you have them serviced by volvo. They cost no more, than another at a regular hourly shop. I get my oil changed for $ 34.95 Parts could get costly. My timing belt kit is 250.00 which included tensioner and idler pulley. Water pump is around 70.00 Take it to dealer and they will charge even more i am sure. Volvo makes a good solid car though.

How much to replace a big rig/semi truck engine?

I'm starting a trucking company with my family friend, we have bought 3 trucks so far for $8000 and below, with 600,000 miles and below, but one truck we bought this morning, for $2000 which is a volvo VNL64T manufactured in 2003 and has 350000 miles, we took for a test run and the engine blew. We have the oppertunity to return the truck, but the old man is a nice guy and we did buy it for cheap, and the truck is in a very good shap inside and out. so where wondering if we could replace the engine for not much of the cost. It would be nice to have 3 freightliners and a volvo as a starting four trucks for our company.

Volvo 240 LSx engine swap cost?

if this is the route you wish [V8-volvo 2 series] forget the small block chevy [this engine is the one of choice if you do a 7 series though] use a small block ford the reason is simple the ford oil pump and sump are at the front of the engine and will clear the existing front cross member and steering rack.
[minor oil pan modification may still be needed depending on oil pan used and what you come up with for motor mount system.
once again if this swap is done my recommendation is to purchase a complete wrecked fuel injected mustang [roll overs usually supply the largest selection of usable parts]
you will have to have better than good fabrication skills to undertake this project as well as a decent shop to work in [out of weather, well lit, etc.] figure 1500 for wrecked mustang, 600 for exhaust, 300 for custom one piece drive shaft and a whole lot of time fabricating mounts, transmission cross-members, redoing the left header [steering shaft clearance] and enough welding to see spots for weeks.
best of luck

Oil light comes on on my Volvo S80 intermittenly. What's up?

i would have that looked at before you possibly destroy your engine put a oil gauge where your sending unit is to see how much oil pressure you have if its good even when warmed up replace your sending unit if not it could be that your screen is plugged on your oil pickup tube in the oil pan, best fix for that is to pull it out and take a look at it and clean the screen if not you could try flushing the engine with a little diesel fuel on auto stores have a motor flush could try that other than that it could be a worn out oil pump to bad bearings

Cost to clean oil pan and oil pick up tube in car?

My car oil light came on last night and said it had "No oil pressure", so I immediately pulled over and parked and stopped the engine. I towed it into my Volvo dealership this morning and they said the oil level and quality looked fine, but they wanted to look around the engine and just clean the oil pan and oil pick up tube from the normal sludge and carbon buildup that happens. They said it would be about $640 plus tax, for parts and labor, and me being the car-ignorant person gave them they go ahead to work on the car even though that price seemed pretty high.....does this seem normal? Is that a normal price to just clean the oil pan and oil pickup tube?? They already finished working on the car, so I'm not sure how much price negotiating I can get away with, but to me it seems a bit high for just cleaning a few things. What do you think?
